"What's going on?" Just then, the city guard captain, who was not far away, noticed the commotion. He strode over and looked sharply at Chen Yu and the other man.
"Captain Zhao, these two are from out of town. They want to enter the city, but they don't have entry permits," the guard explained.
Upon hearing this, Captain Zhao nodded, then said coldly to Chen Yu and Lin Lele, "You two are neither from Kyoto nor do you have entry permits, so please do not linger at the city gate to avoid causing unnecessary misunderstandings."
The threat was self-evident.
"Why do we need a city entry permit just to enter the city?" Lin Lele said angrily. "We've been to so many cities recently, and this is the first time we've seen this rule!"
"This is Kyoto, how can it be compared to your little places?" Captain Zhao sneered. "Kyoto is so rich in resources, if all sorts of Tom, Dick, and Harry came in, wouldn't things be in chaos?"
"You..." Lin Lele said angrily, "Kyoto is the capital of everyone in Great Xia! No..."
"Lele, calm down." Chen Yu gently patted Lin Lele's shoulder, signaling her not to act impulsively.

"Thank you very much, sir." Chen Yu replied sincerely, while discreetly slipping two packs of cigarettes to the captain.
"Haha~! You little rascal." The captain couldn't stop grinning.
