Before the rain stops

Before the rain stops

The appearance of the mysterious black shadow was like a stone thrown into a lake, causing ripples in Yun Shuo's heart.

"Did you see that?" he asked nervously.

The young man shook his head, but his intuition told him that danger was approaching.

For safety reasons, Yun Shuo decided to take him away first. But the moment they turned around, the surrounding scene suddenly became blurry, and the air seemed to be torn open.

[Fissure: Temporary dungeon "Before the Rain Stops" has been opened]

【rule:

1. Find and return the "lost name" before the rain stops.

2. When the rain stops, those who have not returned will be cleared.

3. The name can only be retrieved by its owner.

"Name?" The young man was stunned.

"Your name," Yun Shuo whispered, "Yu Heng."

They were transported to a drizzling alley, a place they had walked countless times before. At the end of the alley was a pawn shop.

The pawnshop owner's face was featureless, a smooth mask. He pushed a box over, and inside was a nameplate engraved with "Yu Heng."

"Return condition: in exchange for 'memory'." The boss's voice was emotionless.

Yun Shuo took out the feather of light that carried their shared memories without hesitation: "Use mine."

"I only accept the memory of the 'master'." The boss refused indifferently.

The young man took the light feather, and countless broken images flashed through his mind - wind chimes, trains, lighthouses... Every image made him heartbroken.

"I do." He made his decision.

The lettering on the nametag suddenly lit up, and he finally remembered his name.

"Yu Heng." He murmured, his voice full of power.

[Judgment: Name returned successfully]

[Reward: Memory Fragment × 1]

At this moment, a familiar voice came from the end of the alley: "Yu Heng——"

It is the administrator's backup.

"We have to go!" Yun Shuo pulled Yu Heng and rushed into the rain.

They ran all the way and finally hid in an abandoned photo studio. Yun Shuo found that all the faces of the people in the photos here had been erased, except for one - that was their photo in front of the Miao Village Museum.

“This is our ‘anchor,’ ” Yunshuo said. “It protects us from being completely wiped out by the system.”

Outside, the rain gradually subsided.

"We must find the other half of our 'name' before the rain stops." Yun Shuo looked out the window. "That's your last name."

"Surname?" Yu Heng was stunned.

"Your name isn't just Yuheng." A hint of mystery flashed in Yun Shuo's eyes. "You have an even older surname. That's your real name as 'Administrator'."

"Then where should we look for it?"

Yun Shuo didn't answer. He took out the silver ring engraved with their names from his pocket and placed it in Yu Heng's palm.

"To find our original home."

The rain was about to stop. They only had a few minutes left.

The rain is getting lighter and lighter.

"We only have a few minutes left." Yun Shuo looked at the silver ring in his palm and said softly but firmly, "Let's go to our original home."

Before Yuheng could ask, the alley beneath their feet felt as if someone had gently pushed them, and the whole world sank slightly. The next second, they were standing at the entrance of Wuyao Miao Village.

The air after the rain was filled with the fragrance of earth and grass. In the distance, the ecological museum they had founded was faintly visible in the mist.

"This is..." Yu Heng's memory seemed to be blown away by the wind, and countless images surged in his mind.

"Our starting point." Yun Shuo pulled him and headed straight for the museum.

The museum was silent, with only the gentle chimes ringing in the breeze. They went straight to the "seed bank" on the top floor, and Yun Shuo took out a small wooden box from a hidden mezzanine.

Inside the wooden box was an ancient embroidery piece with two mysterious ancient characters embroidered on it.

"This is what grandma left us." Yun Shuo pointed at one of the characters, "This is your last name, 'Su'."

"Su..." Yu Heng whispered it softly, as if awakening himself who had been sleeping for a long time.

At this moment, the system's voice sounded coldly:

["Real name: Su Yuheng" detected.]

[The administrator has locked the backup target.]

[Countdown to rain stopping: 00:01:30]

Outside the window, the raindrops were so thin that they were almost invisible.

"Quick, we need a 'declaration'." Yun Shuo pulled Yu Heng and rushed to the center of the exhibition hall, where the cornerstone they had laid that year was.

"Under the witness of our ancestors and the entire village," Yun Shuo raised his silver ring and said in a steady voice, "I, Yun Shuo, call upon you—Su Yuheng."

"I'm here." Yu Heng responded.

The silver ring suddenly lit up, and a warm light shot up into the sky, penetrating the roof of the museum and reaching the sky.

Almost immediately, the rain stopped.

【The rain has stopped.】

[Judgment: Su and Heng have returned their full true names.]

[Reward: Complete Memory × 1]

Countless memories flooded into Yu Heng's mind like a tide, and he finally remembered everything - Wind Chime Pavilion, the midnight train, the city without lights... and the person in front of him who gave everything for him.

"Yun Shuo..." His voice choked and he hugged Yun Shuo tightly.

But the hug only lasted a second.

The next second, a cold voice sounded from above the sky:

[Admin backup started: Recycling]

[Target: Su and Heng]

A huge hand shadow made of light fell from the sky and grabbed Yu Heng.

“No——!” Yun Shuo roared and stood in front of Yu Heng.

At this critical moment, all the silver ornaments in the exhibition hall rang at the same time, making a clear and long sound.

That is the protective song left by grandma.

Changming turned into an invisible barrier, barely blocking the light hand.

"Let's go!" Yun Shuo pulled Yu Heng and rushed towards the back door of the museum.

They rushed out of the museum, the light hand in pursuit. At the entrance of the village, a familiar rift slowly opened.

"That's the way back to the 'core,'" Yu Heng said with a resolute look. "Only there can I completely escape it."

"I'll go with you." Yun Shuo said firmly.

"No," Yuheng stopped and looked back at Yunshuo. "This time, I'll go and clear our way. You wait here for me."

He put the silver ring back on Yun Shuo's hand, his voice gentle but firm:

"When I come back, we'll go home."

After saying that, he turned around and jumped, resolutely stepping into the rift.

【The rift closes.】

[Countdown: 00:00:00]

The world became quiet again.

Yun Shuo stood where he was, tightly gripping the silver ring in his hand, his eyes fixed on the sky.

"I'll wait for you."
