Chapter 18 Energy Foods
Without further ado, the group started digging. "Qingqing, you just wait on the side; we'll do the heavy lifting."
As she spoke, Yang Dong took out tools from his spatial storage, and the three of them began digging for peanuts. Yes, that was the name she gave them; in interstellar space, the discoverer has the right to name newly discovered species.
Peanuts aren't artificially cultivated, so they're scattered, but even if you put them all together, they probably don't cover an acre. With three people and a red panda, they can move quite quickly.
Gu Qing was picking the fruit while the Czech wolfhound stood guard beside her, which distracted her. It took a lot of willpower for her to restrain her restless hands.
After digging them out, Li Liang and Yang Dong continued picking, while Zhang Ze, with Little Fox, searched the surrounding area to see if there were any more. Surprisingly, they managed to gather quite a few more.
After picking all the peanuts, the group took out bags and packed them up. There were just too many things to fit in the energy boxes, so they would have to store them in a special storage room when they got back.
She has one in her little house, but it wasn't used before because the crystal core wasn't installed. Once she goes back and installs the crystal core, it will be usable.
After everyone finished packing, they waited while Gu Qing put the things into her spatial storage. Gu Qing didn't stand on ceremony and simply waved her hand to put the things away.
The group took out nutritional supplements to fill their stomachs, and then expanded their search of the surrounding area.
“There shouldn’t be any omissions. Should we expand the scope or something?” Zhang Ze turned to ask the others.
"We've searched quite a lot, let's go back. We've chased the Autumn Wind Rat for quite a distance, and it will take us a while to get back."
Li Liang looked at Gu Qing as he said this.
What could she possibly have to say? She nodded in agreement.
Li Liang breathed a sigh of relief, worried that she might be too willful to go back because she hadn't had enough fun. Although this area was still a gathering zone, it wasn't without danger.
"We'll take a different route back, so Qingqing can see more of the sights. It'll be a bit longer, and we might get back a little later," he quickly arranged.
"It's okay, we just took nutritional supplements, so we're not hungry. It's fine to go back a little later." Gu Qing naturally agreed wholeheartedly when she heard him say that.
Zhang Ze cheerfully identified a direction, saying, "Let's go this way. When our team was cleaning up here before, we saw some bamboo. Let's take a look."
Gu Qing ran to his side, "Is it a bamboo forest? Aren't there any strange beasts inside?"
"It's a bamboo forest, and there were strange beasts inside, but they've all been cleared out. Otherwise, we wouldn't dare designate this area as a gathering zone." Zhang Ze didn't use his flying vehicle; he simply walked and ran around Gu Qing.
His spirit, Little Tabby, was even more so, running around here and there, sometimes climbing trees, sometimes disappearing into the bushes.
Gu Qing was also amused!
"Qingqing, you like cats. If you like them, I can call it over so you can pet it."
"Really?" She was so excited that she immediately turned off the aircraft, got off, and stored it in her spatial storage.
Zhang Ze didn't mind and called the little tabby cat over. Gu Qing tentatively reached out her hand, and the little tabby cat looked at its owner, then at Gu Qing, and rubbed its head against her palm.
Gu Qing was amazed by the texture of the cat in her hand; it felt so real, like petting a real cat, but this cat didn't shed.
It was huge, looking like a leopard, but it could meow sweetly in a low voice. Gu Qing slowly lost control of herself. First, she used one hand, then both hands, and later she buried her face in its fur and inhaled deeply.
She didn't notice that Zhang Ze, who had initially been watching with great interest, gradually blushed.
Li Liang coughed loudly, instantly snapping her out of her daze. Looking back at Zhang Ze, she felt a little embarrassed.
He quickly let go of her hand, stood up, and coughed along with her. "It's getting late, let's hurry on our way."
That's what he said, but his eyes were still fixed on the little tabby cat rubbing against his trouser leg.
Zhang Ze scooped up the little tabby cat. "Then the cat and I will go ahead and scout the way. You guys take your time, we'll have plenty of time." Without waiting for a reply, he took the cat and ran off.
Li Liang quickly changed the subject, introducing her to the surrounding environment and edible wild vegetables.
The three of them walked for nearly half an hour to reach the bamboo forest. The air in the bamboo forest had a faint freshness. The three of them protected her and walked into the bamboo forest.
Watching her curiously hug the bamboo, looking at it and touching it, how could she not be curious? This bamboo was even thicker than the trees back home.
However, if you look closely, you can see a layer of black mist on top. "Qingqing, do you want to dig bamboo shoots? There are some here."
She followed Zhang Ze's directions and saw a really thick bamboo shoot. She noticed a thin layer of gray mist on it, indicating it was likely low-pollution.
She glanced around again, and the pure bamboo shoots looked like glow sticks in her eyes. She ran over there as instructed.
"Zhang Ze, dig this one." He didn't know why she was digging this one, and it didn't look like she had measured it, but it wasn't a big deal, so he just ran over.
He quickly dug out the large bamboo shoot and tested it. The machine announced, "Jade Green Bamboo, the bamboo shoot is pollution-free and is an energy food; consumption is recommended."
Zhang Ze smiled, revealing a set of bright white teeth, "Qingqing, you're amazing! This one is also an energy food."
She also proudly raised her head, "Listen to your sister and follow her, and I guarantee you won't suffer any losses."
Several people were willing to cooperate with her, saying, "Then, Sister Gu, we'll be relying on you to take care of us from now on."
"Sure, sure, let's get to work, dig this one out."
"Yes, ma'am, I'll make sure it's all neat and tidy for you." Zhang Ze played along with her like a drama queen.
Perhaps because they had gained a lot, or perhaps because their friendships had grown stronger, the group had a really good time, even though they were a bit tired.
A total of 17 bamboo shoots, each weighing over 100 kilograms, were dug up.
Seeing that it was getting late, Li Liang urged them to hurry back, as the later it got, the greater the danger outside would be.
The group boarded the aircraft, still keeping Gu Qing in the middle, and quickly headed towards the camp.
