Dong Xiaolu didn't blame Han Ming, because she felt that her boyfriend must have had his reasons for suddenly hitting someone. On this point, Dong Xiaolu was quite protective of her own.
Seeing that Han Ming seemed perfectly normal, she didn't ask why, because she noticed that Han Ming seemed to know the man who had been beaten.
"Da Bao!" Han Ming called out.
Liu Debao was only focused on covering his head and protecting his vital parts, and didn't know what was happening until the person kicking him suddenly stopped.
Just as he was about to let go and check the situation, he heard someone calling him, and it seemed to be someone he knew well. Otherwise, who would call him Da Bao?
Looking up, she saw Han Ming and stood there stunned for a good ten seconds before offering her words of comfort in surprise:
"Han Ming, Master, what are you doing here?"
"Damn, this kid still remembers the nicknames his buddies gave him back in school?" Han Ming was speechless.
The character "明" in Han Ming's name can be broken down into "日" (sun) and "月" (moon).
Back when we played games, everyone gave themselves nicknames. Han Ming racked his brains but couldn't come up with a powerful and imposing ID.
Later, he couldn't remember which kid suggested it, saying, "Han Ming, why don't you just call yourself the leader of the Sun Moon Cult?" Han Ming thought it was a good idea, so he adopted the title.
Later, because Han Ming was very good at playing games, his nickname "Master" spread throughout the entire department.
At this moment, Liu Debao addressed him as "Master" in front of everyone, which made Han Ming feel a little embarrassed. He interrupted, saying:
"Da Bao, what are you doing here? I'm so sorry, I didn't know it was you squatting here. If I had known earlier, I would have..."
Upon hearing Han Ming's words, Liu Debao felt somewhat embarrassed and stammered, unsure of how to respond.
Han Ming, seeing his appearance, guessed that he had some unspeakable trouble, so he went over to check if he was injured.
Upon closer inspection, Liu Debao appeared to have no other injuries besides being covered in dust. When asked, Liu Debao himself said he was fine, having only been kicked a few times and was not injured.
Liu Debao hesitated, wanting to leave but too embarrassed to say so. Staying there was awkward, but not leaving was also uncomfortable.
Han Ming didn't care about him. Since he had encountered him, he couldn't let him go so quickly. So he grabbed him and first introduced the people around him.
Upon hearing that Zhuang Yan had helped him drive away two men who were beating him, Liu Debao repeatedly expressed his gratitude to Zhuang Yan.
Upon hearing that Zhao Lihua was Zhuang Yan's mother, she repeatedly greeted her as "Auntie," bowing repeatedly as she spoke, making Zhuang Yan and Zhao Lihua quite embarrassed.
Han Ming then introduced his girlfriend, Dong Xiaolu, to Liu Debao, who greeted her respectfully.
Han Ming was speechless, thinking to himself, "Why has this guy become so polite now, bowing and scraping like a Japanese devil? He must have some kind of secret."
Seeing some people pointing and whispering about them in the distance, Han Ming felt uncomfortable, so he pulled Liu Debao into the hotel and found a place to sit down and talk.
The group found seats in the coffee shop on one side of the lobby.
Han Ming ordered a drink for everyone and then planned to ask Liu Debao what was going on and how he got into all this trouble at the hotel entrance.
Liu Debao sat there awkwardly, looking at the people he was meeting for the first time with a bit of nervousness and embarrassment, unsure of how to start the conversation.
Han Ming knew his concerns, so he said that everyone present was one of their own, and told Liu Debao to speak his mind. If there were any difficulties, having more people meant having more ideas, right?
After thinking for a moment, Liu Debao began to explain his situation.
It turns out that this guy hasn't been able to find a decent job since graduating from university.
He wasn't very tall to begin with, only about 1.6 meters, and some girls were even taller than him.
These days, there's a popular term for "second-class disabled person," and I never expected this rule to be popular at job fairs too.
Liu Debao originally thought that since he was studying computer programming, it didn't matter whether he was tall or short, but he was wrong.
I attended many job fairs, but was rejected by employers because I was too short, which would negatively impact the company's image and not fit the company's style.
Back then, Liu Debao, who had just graduated from school, was quite ambitious. He thought that since no one would hire him as a waiter, he would become the boss himself.
Using the small software programs he wrote during his university years, he sold them for some money and found a few like-minded, down-on-their-luck individuals to start a small software company together.
As the saying goes, it's not easy to work for someone else, and it's even harder to start your own business. Everyone in a small company is busy, but they just can't make much money.
Sometimes, people will deliberately find fault with things you've worked hard to make and refuse to pay for them.
There was nothing he could do; many of his subordinates were just trying to make a living, so Liu Debao could only suffer some losses and lower the prices to try and recoup some money.
But as time went on, Liu the Great Philanthropist's reputation spread far and wide, and many people knew that he was easy to talk to and willing to suffer losses.
They would deliberately bring him jobs, and after he finished them, they would repeat the same trick, only offering low prices. So over the years, Liu Debao found it increasingly difficult to make a living.
The same thing happened today. A so-called major client approached Liu Debao, wanting him to design some kind of large-scale enterprise software.
Actually, that's not the case at all. It was Liu Debao's team who designed a game.
As for what type of game it was, Liu Debao glanced at the women present and hesitated to say. Han Ming understood; it was probably one of those games with a slightly erotic twist.
The price offered by this major client was quite attractive; they said it would be a reward of 100,000 yuan.
But after Liu Debao and his team worked overtime and delivered the goods with dark circles under their eyes, the customer complained that this wasn't attractive enough and that wasn't perfect enough, refusing to pay.
