Chapter 255: It’s over and it starts over
Qin Yanxiu stood outside the fence, wearing a white rose-printed shirt with the hem tucked into his casual trousers. He had broad shoulders and a narrow waist, and was tall and long legs, making him very eye-catching.
The corners of his lips curled up slightly, and his pair of sparkling peach blossom eyes turned up slightly, looking at her steadily.
Xu Yousheng was stunned for a moment, but quickly came to his senses: "Why are you here?"
Qin Yanxiu's thin lips moved slightly: "I came to find you."
Xu Yousheng shrank her fingertips slightly and looked up at him: "I made it very clear last time, what exactly do you want to do?"
Qin Yanxiu pursed his lips and said, "You said I didn't respect you enough. From now on, I will follow your wishes and consider your feelings."
"Can you give me another chance?"
He put away his nonchalant look and spoke in a tone more serious and solemn than ever before.
Xu Yousheng's pupils shrank, his eyes were full of surprise, and he didn't come back to his senses for a long time.
Does he know what he is talking about?
The yellow poplar tree at the intersection was tall and straight, its branches rustling in the wind. Qin Yanxiu stood under the tree, his beautiful peach blossom eyes staring at her without blinking, deep and affectionate.
The tips of Xu Yousheng's fingers hanging by his side were slightly curled, and his heart was like a leaf swaying and trembling slightly in the wind.
But the wind died down, and her mind calmed down.
Xu Yousheng looked up at him. At this moment, she couldn't tell whether he was sincere or not.
Or perhaps she didn't dare to believe what he said.
The disappointments accumulated from repeated attempts made it impossible for her to convince herself anymore.
She finally decided to walk out and step out of that emotional circle. She didn't want to and didn't want to go back.
"I'm very satisfied with my current situation and don't want to change it." Xu Yousheng lowered his eyes and said softly, "Teacher Qin, please go back. It's over between us a long time ago."
Qin Yanxiu's eyes dimmed. He had expected this to happen.
He lowered his eyes to look at her, his voice low: "When it's over, start over again."
Anyway, the previous experience was not a very pleasant one, so let’s start over from this moment.
"Nannan, who is it?" Grandma's voice came from inside the house. Seeing that Xu Yousheng didn't come in for a while, she opened the door and walked out.
Xu Yousheng looked at Qin Yanxiu and said, "Go away. I don't want to say the same thing again."
After saying that, she turned and walked back into the house, pulling the curious grandmother in with her. "No one, just a tourist asking for directions."
After saying that, Xu Yousheng closed the door, blocking his sight.
Qin Yanxiu stood in front of the courtyard gate, listening to the faint conversation coming from inside the house, the sound of bowls and chopsticks colliding accompanied by light laughter, and lowered his eyes.
…
After lunch, Xu Yousheng looked out the window. There was no one left where Qin Yanxiu was standing. Only the thick and lush yellow horn tree behind him remained, standing there as it had for ten years.
She looked away, and a trace of loss flashed through her heart.
Fortunately, she didn't believe him anymore.
Someone like Qin Yanxiu, who has been rejected again and again, must be running out of patience.
This is good too, it cuts off cleanly.
She took a deep breath and suppressed the strange emotions that surged in her heart because of his words.
She went upstairs, changed her clothes and prepared to go out: "Grandma, Brother Suzhou is back too. I'm going to see Grandpa Yang."
"Okay, then you take the milk and fruit from home, and I'll pack some dried fish."
"No, the food at home is for you. I'll go to the store to buy some more." Xu Yousheng refused with a smile.
Grandma wiped her hands and said, "Don't you want to eat boiled fish tonight? I've prepared all the dishes and will go get some shrimps. You can ask Suzhou to come along."
Xu Yousheng curled her lips: "Okay."
When she went to the village store to buy something, Haiping couldn't help but ask her, "Sister Shengsheng, what did that famous star come to see you about just now? What's your relationship?"
Xu Yousheng picked up two cartons of milk and bought some fruit. As he paid, he said, "Oh, I owe him two million, and I'm here to collect the debt."
"What?" Haiping's eyes widened. "Two million?"
"Let's go." Xu Yousheng nodded, picked up his things and went in another direction.
Haiping stood there, a look of disbelief on his face: "Isn't being a celebrity very lucrative? How could he still owe money? He doesn't look like a debt collector..."
Xu Yousheng went to Yang Suzhou's house. He also came back from home on the weekend, and she talked with Grandpa Yang for a while.
Grandpa Yang had taken good care of her since she was little, treating her well both academically and personally. But as he was getting older, he needed to be more careful about his diet. Yang Suzhou cooked porridge for him, and then he went with Xu Yousheng to her house for dinner.
The two went to the convenience store again, and Xu Yousheng couldn't stop them.
Yang Suzhou smiled and said, "I bought this for Grandpa Xu and Grandma Xu. It's useless for you to object."
As they walked away, Haiping looked at the supermarket shelves, grinning from ear to ear. The goods had been selling well recently, even the few boxes he'd bought as a trial run had been sold out. It looked like he'd have to get some more in.
Xu Yousheng and Yang Suzhou walked back chatting and laughing all the way. When they arrived at the gate of the yard, Xu Yousheng frowned subconsciously when he looked at the scene in the yard.
Qin Yanxiu and his grandmother were sitting at the table in the yard, talking, with a lot of gift boxes piled up beside them.
Hearing the noise, grandma turned around and said with a smile: "Nannan is back, your friend is here."
Then he called out to Yang Suzhou, "Suzhou, come in and sit down."
"Okay, Grandma Xu."
Xu Yousheng walked in and looked at Qin Yanxiu, trying hard to suppress his anger: "Why are you here?"
Qin Yanxiu smiled and said, "I came here for a tour. I know your family is here, so I came to see grandma."
Grandma Xu was laughing so hard that she couldn't stop, and she didn't know what Qin Yanxiu said to her.
Grandma Xu exchanged a few pleasantries with Yang Suzhou and stood up: "Suzhou, please sit for a while. I'm going to go cook."
"Yan Xiu, please stay and have dinner with us."
"No need," Xu Yousheng replied before Qin Yanxiu could speak. "Grandma, I'm afraid Teacher Qin won't be used to the food here, so we won't keep him."
