Chapter 57 The Despicable Female Bandit

Behind some withered, yellow bushes, all was silent, without even a whisper of wind.

"Master, there's no one here. Did you mishear?" Liu Xiaoyu craned her neck to look in that direction.

Rosie clicked her tongue: "Maybe?"

Just then, she caught a glimpse of a fermenting manure pile by the roadside out of the corner of her eye, and she snorted to herself, thinking to herself, "Let's see how long these two can hide."

She picked up a wooden shovel, scooped up a shovelful of foul-smelling farmyard manure, and threw it onto the tree.

"Poor sapling, you're already pitiful enough for not having water to drink, how can you also not have fertilizer to eat?"

"Let me, a kind-hearted person, help you."

As he spoke, Luo Xi tossed another shovel, and a layer of semi-dry farmyard manure immediately fell onto the entire clump of dwarf trees.

Of course, besides the tree, the two young men dressed in short, coarse cloth clothes, crouching and hiding behind the tree were no exception.

They were covered in manure, their eyes blazing as they glared at Luo Xi and his companion, but they dared not move an inch, desperately trying to act like wooden puppets.

That despicable female bandit!

Seeing that the fertilizer was all over the leaves, Liu Xiaoyu assumed that Luo Xi didn't understand and quickly came over.

"Master, fertilizer shouldn't be put in like that. It should be put at the base of the tree, otherwise it will hurt the sapling."

She reached out her hand to Luo Xi: "Master, how about I do it? You can just watch from the side."

She has worked on farms since she was a child and still cherishes those memories.

Rosie dodged to the side: "No need, I can do it myself."

"You don't understand, these trees are special varieties, and fertilizer has to be applied this way to be effective."

She scooped up more farmyard manure and scattered it over there.

The two young men, whose heads and faces were covered in dung again, were speechless.

This is outrageous!

They just wanted to sneak home for a visit, what did they do to deserve that?

Liu Xiaoyu: "??"

is that so?

But to her, that tree just looked like an ordinary tree.

However, my master is always very knowledgeable, so if she says it is, then it must be.

Liu Xiaoyu didn't offer any more help, but just stood aside and watched as Luo Xi shoveled manure onto the tree again and again.

The two people behind the tree tried to hold back, but finally couldn't resist and stood up abruptly.

"You despicable female bandits, how dare you bully people like this? I'll fight you to the death!"

They gripped their hoes tightly, their faces flushed, and rushed over, balls of dung falling from their bodies, bringing with them an unpleasant stench.

Liu Xiaoyu was stunned. There really were... "special varieties"?

Luo looked on with disgust as the two blobs of excrement rushed toward him.

He silently lowered his raised right leg, then gripped the manure shovel tightly and slapped the two men away with two quick blows.

A manure shovel is more suitable for shoveling manure!

The two young men, who were sent flying before they even got close, were covered in stars on their foreheads and were completely bewildered.

This female bandit is quite a formidable character!

The older young man in the gray shirt swallowed hard: "What...what do you want?"

Looking at the two people sprawled on the ground, their faces filled with terror, Luo Xi said, "Shouldn't I be asking you that? Tell me, what are you doing, hiding there so suspiciously?"

Unexpectedly, the two young men, who were trembling slightly with fear, glared at Luo Xi with hatred in their eyes. Instead of explaining why they were hiding there, they stubbornly said, "We're not afraid of you. Kill us if you want, stop with the nonsense."

Ha, so desperate to die, or are you trying to hide something? Luo Xi went through the matter in her mind and understood the key point.

"Who cares to kill you? You're not fat pigs, and your meat can be sold for some money. I'll just ask you a few questions, and after you answer, you can go wherever you want."

However, when the two young men heard that Rose was only asking questions, they did not relax their vigilance but became even more nervous: "We don't know anything, we're just passing by, we don't know anything, you go ask someone else."

"Don't know?" Luo Xi patted a young man's leg with a shovel: "Do you think I'm stupid? I didn't know who it was, but they came out shouting: 'You despicable female bandits, you are clearly residents here.'"

The two young men turned pale: "Yes, so what? You wicked female bandit, don't even think about getting any information from us."

"So what if I die? Come on, cut me here! I'm not afraid!" The older young man in gray shouted, pointing at his neck.

Lochton had a headache.

"Young master, you've misunderstood us." Liu Xiaoyu had come to her senses by now and quickly came out to explain with a smile.

“Those bandits who slaughtered your village were all dead last night, killed by my master. Yes, the young lady in front of you.” She pointed to her somewhat annoyed master beside her and said good-naturedly.

"So we are not bandits, but rather enemies of those bandits."

The two young men were taken aback by what they heard. They looked at Luo Xi and his companion for a long time. Just when Luo Xi thought they had explained things clearly, they sneered, "Hmph, don't try to play these little tricks. We don't believe you."

"Like I said, we know nothing. Kill us or torture us, it's up to you!"

After saying that, he turned his head to the side, as if he would never say another word.

Rosie was speechless.

"I said I just wanted to ask a few questions, but you..." She was really angry this time: "Are you going to tell me or not? If you don't, don't blame me for being impolite..."

"We'll talk, we'll talk." But before Luo Xi could utter any threats, more than twenty men and women came running in a panic from not far away.

The leader was a man in his early forties, wearing a dark brown brocade jacket, which made him stand out among the group of people dressed in linen clothes.

He first glared fiercely at the two young men, then suddenly knelt down in front of Luo Xi, tears streaming down his face.

"Your Majesty, ask away, ask whatever you want. We will tell you everything we know. Please spare the lives of these two ignorant children."

"Uncle! What brings you here?" The two young men were extremely nervous and stammered as they greeted the man.

"Shut up!" the man snapped at the two of them, then turned to Luo Xi with a smile: "Your Majesty, what do you want to ask? Just ask me."

“My surname is Zhou. I am currently the temporary manager of all the tenants. I know much more than those two reckless lads.”

As he spoke, he pushed the two sacks he had carried over toward Rose.

"This is a small gift we would like to offer you as a token of our respect. Please accept it."

"Uncle—" The older young man in gray suddenly became anxious.

That was the only food they had left for their family of over twenty people.

"Shut up! The Queen is here, who gave you the right to speak?" Uncle Zhou glared at the young man again, then looked pleadingly at Luo Xi: "Your Majesty, what do you think..."

Luo Xi stared at the man for a few seconds before opening the bag and seeing that it was full of broken, moldy, and blackened rice grains.

"..."

She lowered her eyelids and finally hummed in agreement: "You are indeed quite sensible. Okay, I won't hold it against you this time."

Uncle Zhou breathed a sigh of relief; he had indeed made the right bet.
