Chapter 217 I Want to Raise a Little Snowball

"Haha, oh dear, I can't catch it." Xingxing was chasing after a little guy weighing less than three pounds, seemingly trying to hug it, but the little guy clearly didn't want to be hugged and scurried around on the ground.

Zhu Lin silently slipped in, grabbed the little creature that was darting around at incredible speed, and picked it up. It was a creature with a round head, somewhat like an owl, and a round body, like a little piglet. It had four short legs and snow-white fur all over its body. From a distance, it looked like a short-legged cat.

But it wasn't a cat; Zhu Lin had never seen such a wild creature before.

"Brother Phosphorus, Yuanyuan is so amazing! She ate the three biggest silver-tipped snakes. It was so dangerous just now. Brother Fu and I almost got hurt by those snakes. Luckily, Yuanyuan rushed in in time and bit the little silver snakes into three pieces, then ate them all."

Xingxing ran over, her eyes sparkling as she looked at the little thing in the boy's hand. It was clear that she really liked it, and in a short time, she had already given the little thing a name.

The name Yuanyuan is quite fitting. This snow-white little ball isn't just round all over; its two eyes are also big and round, and the pupils are blue, making it especially beautiful.

The little girl's hands were itching to touch it, but she was worried that the little guy wouldn't let her, and her face scrunched up in a conflicted expression.

"You mean those three silver-tipped snake kings were eaten by the little thing?" Zhu Lin asked thoughtfully.

Xingxing nodded vigorously. "Yes, it's so cute, how could it like to eat snakes?" "It really did eat it. It rushed in, bit off the silver-tipped snake, and ate it without caring if anyone was around. It even burped after it finished eating."

"It was indeed this little white ball that saved us. Although we had applied silver-tipped grass powder to our bodies, the silver-tipped snake didn't seem to be very afraid of us. It surrounded the six of us, as if waiting for the effects of the medicine to wear off or something else, and it looked like it was about to attack us at any moment." Zhou Dafu said with lingering fear.

Because at that time, Xingxing used the images in his mind to explain to them how the silver-tipped snake attacks other creatures, directly piercing the prey's body like a needle, eating away the prey's internal organs and even all the flesh and blood in a few breaths, leaving only a layer of withered skin in the end.

It sounds terrifying, it gives me goosebumps.

At that moment, all five Fu brothers shivered, each holding a weapon in their hand, ready to fight to the death. Fortunately, they had applied the powder of silver-tipped grass to their bodies, so the silver-tipped snake king dared not attack them directly.

The turn of events happened so fast that before they could react, a small snowball darted into the cave and devoured the three snake kings whole.

While the Fu brothers were still in shock, Xingxing was already chasing Xiaoxuetuan all over the cave, trying her best to hug the little dumpling. Then Zhu Lin came in and grabbed Xiaoxuetuan by the back of the neck.

"Squeak squeak." The little snowball blinked innocently, not struggling even when caught, and seemed to be in a daze.

"How can it be so cute?" Xingxing lowered her voice, afraid of scaring the little snowball.

"What is this thing? I've never seen it before, and no one has ever mentioned it." Zhou Sanfu had read a lot of books in the past year and considered himself quite knowledgeable, but he couldn't name this little thing.

“If I’m not mistaken, this little thing should be a snow monkey. Snow means it’s all white, and round means it’s very round. Although it looks a bit like a cat, it belongs to the monkey family.” Zhu Chumo’s voice preceded his arrival.

"Fourth Senior Brother, have you seen this kind of monkey before?" Zhu Lin looked at him.

Zhu Chumo shook his head. "No, I saw it in an ancient book. This kind of snow monkey is extremely rare. It is the natural enemy of the silver-tipped snake. One snow monkey can eat a whole nest of silver-tipped snakes in one go. Although the silver-tipped snake is powerful, it has no power to resist this cute and adorable little ball of fluff."

Zhu Chumo took the little snowball from Zhu Lin's hands, examined it carefully for a while, and added: "This little ball should still be a cub, only a few months old, equivalent to a three-year-old human cub. Don't be fooled by its fluffy appearance and light weight; it must have been starving. If I'm not mistaken, the mother monkey of this cub has already died."

Everyone looked on blankly, staring at Zhu Chumo, waiting for him to continue.

Zhu Chumo straightened his expression and continued, "Although the silver-tipped snake is terrifying, its natural enemy, the snow monkey, can easily eat poisonous creatures, but it can only be hunted by other prey. Apart from being fast and good at escaping, it is not aggressive."

So it's not surprising that the mother monkey died. The baby monkey must have gone without food for several days. It couldn't catch any other prey and just happened to follow the scent of the silver-tipped snake, and then had a big meal.

"Oh? If no one takes care of it, won't it die?" Xingxing looked at Xiaoxuetuan with a pained expression.

“That’s right. Any wild beast could swallow it whole,” Zhu Chumo said with a hint of a smile in his eyes. “But once it grows up, it won’t go hungry as often. It will hunt and eat all kinds of poisonous creatures. Its favorite is the silver-tipped snake, but it will also eat other snakes.”

"Does it eat even very large pythons?" Xingxing asked curiously.

"I'm afraid it will be swallowed whole by the python. It can only eat small snakes; it can't eat pythons that are too big," Zhu Chumo explained with a laugh.

"Can it only eat poisonous things? Does it eat other foods?" Xingxing asked eagerly.

"I'm not too sure about that either, but you can give it a try." Zhu Chumo shrugged. After all, he had only read about this species in books and had never seen it in real life, let alone kept it as a pet. Right now, it seemed that Xingxing wanted to keep Xiaoxuetuan, but he had no experience in how to do it.

Xingxing lowered her eyes and thought for a moment, then her eyes suddenly lit up. She remembered that there was still some roasted rabbit meat and stewed pheasant meat left over, so she ran to get them and fed them to the little monkey.
