Chapter 230 Earth Dragon Turns Over

The guards of the Tie family had excellent hearing and overheard the entire conversation between the father and son. They then reported the matter to Tie Qingfeng.

“It is true that we did a bad job. The disaster in the north is severe, and people’s food is definitely in short supply. There are so many of us, and if we eat two meals, we can eat up a person’s food for more than ten days. We don’t need to pay back the money. Let’s use our own rice and flour to cook tomorrow morning,” Tie Qingfeng said.

The head guard turned around and carried a bag of rice down from the carriage. It weighed about thirty pounds. Tomorrow morning, at least twenty pounds of rice would be needed to cook a meal. All twenty-odd guards were martial artists and had bigger appetites than the average person. They couldn't skimp on food, otherwise, if they encountered danger on the road, they would be cold and hungry and wouldn't have the strength to fight.

It was past midnight, but none of the people on Xianwu Island were asleep. They sat on their beds meditating. From time to time, they could hear people sneaking into the village. The higher their martial arts skills, the better their hearing. They could hear every move of the refugees outside.

Outside, the village chief and his two sons would occasionally come out for a stroll. At first, it was thought they were getting up in the middle of the night, but later it was discovered that the three of them were taking turns getting up to walk around, obviously taking turns to keep watch.

They are quite vigilant, presumably because they are afraid of the disaster caused by the refugees.

The star, which had been fast asleep, suddenly jumped up, its movement so sudden that Zhu Changge and Zhu Qingruo were startled and immediately opened their eyes to look over.

"What's wrong? Did you have a nightmare?" Zhu Changge leaned closer and gently put his arm around her.

"We can't sleep tonight, something terrible is going to happen in an hour or two. Go find Zhu Lin quickly." After saying that, Xingxing was about to climb off the kang (a heated brick bed) to find the boy.

In the darkness, Zhu Changge and Zhu Qingruo exchanged a glance, tacitly refraining from asking Xingxing what this "important matter" was, both knowing the truth.

"It's cold outside, quickly put on your clothes first, be careful not to catch a cold." Zhu Changge pulled her and took her clothes to put on her.

After getting dressed and put on her shoes, Xingxing ran quickly towards the door. Just as she was about to knock on the door of the room where Zhu Lin and the others were staying, the person inside moved even faster. The door opened, and the boy appeared, dressed neatly.

Zhu Lin heard Xingxing muttering in her sleep when she woke up, and since they weren't in the same room, he didn't dare to relax and kept an eye on the movements next door.

"What's wrong?" the boy asked in a gentle voice.

Xingxing tugged at his sleeve, gesturing for him to come closer. As the boy bent down, Xingxing whispered in his ear, "The village will shake violently in a moment. The houses will sway back and forth like they're drunk, some will even collapse, and a huge crack will appear in the ground. Many people will die."

"The earth dragon turns over?" the boy muttered, frowning.

"Yes, it's an earth dragon turning over, it's terrifying, what should we do, should we save people?" Xingxing asked helplessly.

The boy called out into the house, "Fourth Senior Brother, have you calculated whether there will be an earth dragon turning over tonight?"

Zhu Chumo paused for a moment. In fact, he had sensed something unusual when observing the celestial phenomena earlier, but he had no intention of revealing the secrets of heaven. Such natural disasters were the will of heaven, and the will of heaven could not be defied. He should not interfere too much, otherwise it would shorten his lifespan.

He walked out, pretending to hold a tortoise shell in his hand. "I've calculated it. There will definitely be an earthquake tonight. There's still time. If we want to save people, it's not too late. But whether the villagers will listen to us is another matter."

“Tell the village chief. If he believes, he can save the lives of everyone in the village. If he doesn’t believe, then it’s their fate,” Zhu Lin said casually.

Zhu Chumo then went to the village chief and told him that he could tell fortunes and that an earth dragon would rise up in an hour. He said that if the villagers wanted to live, they should quickly notify everyone in the village to come out of their houses and gather in an open space.

After saying this, Zhu Chumo didn't care whether the village chief believed him or not. He had already done his duty by informing the village chief of the impending natural disaster in advance. If the village chief didn't listen, it would be as if the King of Hell valued him and was already waiting for him on the road to the underworld.

The village chief was stunned. Zhu Chumo was so arrogant that even the village chief didn't dare to question him. If he wasn't a master, how could he dare to put on such an unquestionable attitude? Besides, there was no benefit for the other party to deceive him, was there?

Zhu Qiuyu asked Zhu Xichen to go next door to inform Tie Qingfeng and his group that they should pack up and move to a new location immediately. Fu Ge and his friends were still confused. It was the middle of the night and snowing. Why was the earth suddenly turning upside down?

Are you trying to kill us?

The village chief's family had some doubts at first, but seeing Zhu Lin and his group leave quickly and drive away the carriage, they dared not hesitate any longer and quickly took out the gong and struck it.

The villagers were awakened in the middle of the night by the sound of a gong. Their first reaction was that the refugees were causing trouble again. They grabbed the farm tools from beside their beds, dressed themselves, and stood guard at the door.

"What should we do? The villagers will definitely think that it's just another group of refugees breaking in to steal things. They will never think that the earth is about to turn upside down. But if we go door to door and call for help, what if we encounter refugees?" The village chief's eldest son was sweating profusely with anxiety.

“Those men in white look quite convincing, but they don’t look very old. I don’t think they can be accurate in their calculations, and maybe there’s no trouble at all,” the village chief’s second son said slyly.

The village chief pondered for a moment, then shook his head with a grave expression. "It's better to believe it than not. I don't think those people are ordinary. We can't gamble with everyone's lives. Survival is the most important thing."

“Father is right. Survival is the most important thing. Second brother, you take the axe, and I'll take the machete. Let's go out together and call people out from house to house. We can't let our guard down,” the village chief’s son said resolutely.

"Alright, I'll listen to Dad and my eldest brother." The village chief's second son didn't argue anymore.

There were naturally refugees outside, but Zhu Qiuyu and the others wanted to help the village chief, so they knocked out any refugees they encountered, giving the village chief time to notify others.

Tie Qingfeng was also moving quickly, closely following Zhu Lin and his group. There wasn't much open space in the village, so they could only go to the official road outside the village, where there was wasteland all around, which could accommodate many people.
