Master Song glanced subconsciously at Boss Zhou and Zhao Guihua, assuming that it was the couple's idea, perhaps they wanted to get paid, so they sent the child to tell them about it.
"That herb is not easy to find. My men have been in the deep mountains for almost a month and haven't found a trace of it. You were just worried about attracting wild animals to the village, so why are you suddenly saying you want to help collect herbs?" Could this be their real purpose for coming here today?
"More people means more help, and maybe we'll get lucky and find one." Xingxing's tone was soft and casual, as if she was just there to join in the fun.
"Are you willing to go deep into the mountains?" Master Song asked tentatively.
"Why do you care about that? As long as we can find the herbs we need, it doesn't matter where we find them." Xingxing pouted. This Master Song is so long-winded, he keeps asking questions. Does he even want to find the herbs?
Zhou Laoda glanced at Zhao Guihua and found that Zhao Guihua was also looking at him, both of them with worry and confusion in their eyes.
The former thought to himself, "What is Xingxing saying? Don't you know to cover her mouth and stop her from talking nonsense? She's just a young child and doesn't understand. Why are you being so foolish?"
The latter thought to himself, "I'd like to, but my daughter is so clever and cunning. She was sitting obediently in my lap just now, but she just opened her mouth and dropped a bombshell."
Zhou Laoda and Zhao Guihua were still in a daze.
After a moment of silence, Master Song surprisingly agreed to Xingxing's suggestion. He even asked the little girl, "If your family finds the herbs I need, what kind of reward would you like?"
"No, we don't have..." Old Zhou tried to explain, saying that the child was just talking nonsense on a whim at such a young age, and that they couldn't possibly find the herbs you needed, but he was interrupted before he could finish speaking.
Master Song raised his hand to signal Old Zhou to be quiet, "Let the child finish speaking, I want to hear what she has to say."
Xingxing's eyebrows curved into crescents, and the corners of her lips couldn't help but turn up; she had been waiting for Master Song to ask this question.
"Xingxing often has nightmares at night. In her dreams, bad guys kidnap her and try to kill her. Xingxing is so scared. Today, I saw that your guards are quite skilled, even though they can't even beat a wolf."
But Xingxing still wants to learn kung fu from your guards. If we find the herbs, would you have your guards teach me and my brothers kung fu?
The little girl's words seemed both true and false, which surprised Master Song. He was also somewhat amused and exasperated. He guessed that the little girl thought it was fun and that knowing kung fu was impressive, but she didn't know how hard it was to practice. It was no wonder that a delicate little girl like her could persevere.
Seeing the bewildered and surprised expressions on Zhou Laoda and Zhao Guihua's faces, Master Song was even more certain that this was Xingxing's own idea and had nothing to do with her parents.
Thinking of how much the Zhou family doted on the little girl, and in order to maintain good neighborly relations, he casually agreed, "This matter is not difficult to handle. If you can really help me find the herbs, I can help you find a skilled martial arts master to teach you."
He didn't suggest letting the guards teach, because the guards who went into the mountains were from the Iron Mansion, not the Song Mansion, so Master Song couldn't make the decision to let the guards teach Xingxing and the others kung fu.
After talking for half an hour, the village chief and Master Song still couldn't come up with a good solution, so they could only discuss it another day, as this matter still had a long way to go.
