Chapter 2204 Unstable Mood

Chapter 2204 Unstable Mood

With so many people staying in the inn at once, it was quite lively. For dinner, everyone gathered in the lobby. The ten or so tables were full, and there were not even enough seats. So the inn set up a few more tables in the shed outside, not minding that they were exposed to the outside.

The food in the inn is all similar, including mutton, beef, and various kinds of wine, but vegetables are rare.

The steward who had come back from ordering food told the young masters, "They say vegetables here are more expensive than beef."

Manbao asked, "Can we kill cows here at will?"

"Kill them at will," the steward said. "The cows here aren't oxen for ploughing. They just eat grass to grow meat. Oh, and they also produce milk. They can produce milk. Miss Man, would you like some of their milk tea? I heard it's made with fresh milk and tea leaves, with some scallions and ginger. It tastes great and helps keep away the cold."

Manbao became very interested and said, "Okay, I'll try it."

Bai Erlang and the others had never tasted this kind of milk tea before, and they all expressed their desire to try it.

The steward went downstairs and brought them a few bowls of milk tea, along with a dish of salt. He said, "The shopkeeper said some people are not used to it, so you can add some salt to taste."

Manbao took a bowl and smelled it. He only smelled the fragrance of milk and the taste of ginger slices, so he took a sip. The taste was... quite magical.

Manbao said, "It might taste better if you remove the green onions."

Bai Shan also thought, "Just add tea leaves and ginger slices, why add green onions?"

Having said that, they still drank up the milk tea and then sat in the house waiting for the food to be served.

The inn was very quick. As soon as they arrived, the kitchen had already started preparing to slaughter sheep and cattle. Since there were only a few dishes, it was easy to guess that they would all order them, the only difference being the number of dishes.

The dishes were served quickly, including stewed lamb, cold beef, a small plate of vegetables, and the rest were pancakes and steamed buns.

Changshou also brought up the medicinal meal that Manbao had prepared for Yin Huo. It was actually a jar of porridge made with chicken carefully stewed with several medicinal herbs.

Of course Yin Huo couldn’t finish the whole chicken, so everyone got a share.

Bai Shan didn't eat, but he filled a bowl for Man Bao, then looked at Da Ji and said, "Send a bowl to the gentleman and the two travelers, and also send a bowl to Lieutenant Nie."

Manbao pointed at the relatively intact chicken and said, "General Nie likes to eat meat, so give this chicken to him. We can just have the porridge."

The essence is all in the porridge.

Changshou responded with a smile, poured a bowl of porridge, brought the whole chicken over and sent it downstairs.

Manbao took a mouthful of the porridge and tasted only a faint medicinal flavor, not very strong, except that the salt was a little light.

Yin Huo also thought it was good, so he didn't touch the pancake and just ate the porridge with the dishes on the table.

He had a weak spleen and stomach, but the others had good appetites. After eating a bowl of porridge, they felt like they had eaten nothing at all. So they all reached out for the steamed buns. Manbao picked up a bun, took a bite, and nodded, saying, "Not bad, crispy and delicious."

Bai Shan pointed at the beef plate and said, "Beef is delicious too."

Several people ate with gusto. They didn't eat fast, but not slowly either. They ate very seriously. After two quarters of an hour, they slowly put down their chopsticks, but the downstairs was just becoming lively.

Manbao heard a loud shout from below, so he immediately dropped his chopsticks and ran out to look down. He saw everyone in the hall crowded to the door to see. After a pause, he turned around and ran back, saying to the person who had followed him out, "Outside."

So I opened the window and looked down, and saw two people wrestling with each other in the open space outside, but they were in a stalemate. People on both sides were surrounding them, cheering them on.

Bai Shan pushed Bai Erlang aside and squeezed in to take a look down. Seeing that not only General Nie but also Mr. Zhuang were standing by and watching, he said, "It's okay, they are competing."

Manbao also recognized one of them as their soldier, but he didn't know the other one, so he should be from another gang.

When the people below looked up, she retracted her head, giving space to Bai Shan and the others, and asked, "Didn't you say that you had a conflict with them today and almost got into a fight?"

Bai Shan met the gaze raised by someone below him. He smiled at him and nodded slightly, but replied to Man Bao's words, "Isn't there no fight? Don't worry, General Nie has experience in fighting. They won't deliberately make enemies when they can make friends."

The man below glanced around and didn't see the person he wanted to see, so he smiled at Bai Shan and looked away.

Bai Shan also moved away from the window, giving space to Liu Huan and Zhou Liru.

Yin Huo couldn't squeeze through them, so he only took a quick look. He had already sat back at the table, picked up a piece of beef for Man Bao with his chopsticks, and asked Bai Shan who was walking over, "What's wrong?"

His eyes swept over the two people's frowning brows and asked, "Is there a problem?"

Bai Shan shook his head, and Man Bao said, "I just feel a little uncomfortable. Don't eat too much. After a while, you can digest the food and then go to bed. We will leave early tomorrow morning."

Yin Huo and Bai Shan looked at each other and nodded in agreement.

Bai Erlang and the other three were huddled by the window, watching with great interest. Bai Erlang turned around and said, "We won a game."

Bai Shan tore off a piece of bread and ate it while asking, "Again?"

"Yes, it's the second round. They even provoked General Nie and wanted him to be eliminated."

Although it was bustling outside, Manbao and the others did not go downstairs. After dinner, they sat in the house to rest, occasionally walking to the window to look down. When it got dark, Manbao and Zhou Liru went back to the house to prepare for bed.

Manbao lay on the bed, exhaled, closed his eyes, and said to Keke: "I will pay the points, and you can help me keep an eye on the situation inside and outside the inn. If there is any unusual movement, alert me."

Keke agreed, deducted some points and then extended it silently. Because the points deducted were large, it was also very considerate to record the screen for her.

Manbao felt relieved, yawned, and fell asleep hugging the quilt.

Zhou Liru was sleeping inside and was so sleepy that he couldn't even open his eyes.

The aunt and niece slowly fell asleep, but the people downstairs were still drinking and playing rock-paper-scissors. Mr. Zhuang looked at the time, nodded to General Nie, and went upstairs with the two people to rest.

Although Lieutenant Nie didn't stop his men from drinking, he didn't allow them to drink too much. When he saw that they were almost done, he sent them back to bed. He picked up his knife and wanted to go back to the house. Someone held a glass of wine and blocked in front of him. "Brother, my brothers were ignorant today and offended you in the bathhouse. I apologize to you on their behalf."

Lieutenant Nie raised his eyebrows, glanced at the wine in the bowl, then reached out to take it, drank it all in one gulp, and said with a hearty smile: "You're welcome, brother, you're so generous, I won't be shy either. From now on, brothers, please pay attention to your brothers' eyes and don't look at them carelessly. Some people are not people we can look at carelessly."

The other party smiled and nodded, "That's right, brother.

See you at 6pm
