Chapter 2205 Different Roads

Chapter 2205 Different Roads

Manbao opened her eyes suddenly, and it took her a while to react before she heard that it was Koko calling her in her mind.

She didn't get up for a moment, but moved her hands and feet to wake her body from her sleep, and then she lifted the quilt and got up.

Her eyes also adjusted to the darkness, and she could vaguely see the furnishings in the room. She got out of bed, groped her way to the window, and slightly opened a crack to look down.

More than twenty horses were lined up at the door. In the dim light, she saw the group of people who had come this afternoon carrying their bags and going out one after another and getting on their horses.

The shopkeeper, who had only met them twice, walked them to the door and bowed to them with a smile as he said goodbye.

The leader took the horse and suddenly felt something. He raised his head and looked over. Manbao leaned back subconsciously. Seeing her heartbeat quicken, Koko couldn't help but say, "Host, I'm not looking at you."

After a pause, he felt that this description was not quite accurate, so he said, "Based on the angle of light refraction, his eyes only glanced over here, and now he is looking at the window next door."

When Manbao heard this, she moved closer to look and saw that he was still looking up. In the firelight, he smiled slightly and clasped his hands directly upwards. If Koko hadn't said that, she would almost suspect that this gift was for her.

Manbao's heart moved and he asked, "Bai Shan is awake too?"

Koko responded and said, "He even opened the window."

Bai Shan didn't sleep very soundly, and although the noise below was light, he was still awakened.

At first, he opened the window slightly and looked down through the gap. As a result, the other party discovered him and looked up.

Bai Shan did not dodge. He stared at the other person through the window for a long time. After making sure that the other person could really sense his gaze, he opened the window and looked at the other person.

Bai Shan paused for a moment and then smiled, clasping his hands in return. After he led his men out of the inn and walked away, the smile on Bai Shan's face fell. He pondered for a moment, then looked down and saw the innkeeper, who nodded to him. Finally, he closed the window and went back to sleep.

Bai Erlang was still sleeping soundly in bed. Even Yin Huo was not woken up. He was lying on a wooden couch with a quilt in his arms, sleeping soundly.

He sat on the edge of the bed and thought for a while. After calming himself down, he lifted the quilt and lay down.

Manbao also closed the window tightly and lay back down on the bed.

Because she didn't get enough sleep, she felt she couldn't open her eyes, and the wakefulness she had just felt from the shock had disappeared without a trace.

Manbao yawned and asked, "Koko, how long until dawn?"

"About fifty minutes."

Manbao was so surprised that he forgot about being sleepy. "So fast?"

Koko said, "It's dawn at 4:45."

Manbao suddenly felt that he couldn't sleep well. It was already dawn so early and it felt like he hadn't slept at all.

But after a moment of silence, she pulled the quilt to her chest, hugged it and fell asleep again.

Manbao fell asleep with heavy eyelids. When he woke up again, Zhou Liru pushed him awake. She was a little excited and said, "Auntie, hurry up and get up to watch the sunrise."

Manbao struggled to get up and asked, "Are they all up?"

"I got up early. Mr. Zhuang went out with Wei Xingren and the others to watch the sunrise. I was woken up by the noise downstairs."

Mr. Zhuang was a very interesting person. He originally wanted to call some of his disciples, but thinking that they had been traveling for the past two days and it was not easy for them, and it was rare for them to sleep so well, he did not call them. Instead, he went out with two travelers who had the same intention.

When Manbao washed up, dressed, and went downstairs, Yin Huo and the others were already sitting downstairs. Seeing her coming down, Yin Huo looked at her, then at Bai Shan, who was sitting there with his head down and dozing off, and couldn't help but wonder, "Did you have a secret meeting last night?"

Bai Erlang and Liu Huan, who were leaning against the door of the inn admiring the morning glow in the sky, immediately turned around and looked at them with interest on their faces when they heard it.

Bai Shan raised his eyelids and glanced at them, then said, "Yes, I had a secret meeting in my dream, and I brought you guys with me. Does that count?"

Yin Huo smiled and poured Manbao a glass of warm water. "I slept well last night, and they were all very energetic this morning. Only you two look a little listless, and there's even a little blue under your eyelids."

Bai Shan glanced at Man Bao and asked, "You woke up in the early morning too?"

Manbao nodded.

Bai Shan then said to Yin Huo, "Another group of guests from the inn left in the early morning."

Yin was surprised.

Manbao also walked to the door and watched the morning glow with Zhou Liru and the others. The desert sky was very blue, and there were not many clouds in the sky even in the morning. The only few clouds were still in the distant horizon. When the sun came out, those clouds were reflected in orange, as if they were blown by the wind. The clouds in the sky slowly changed shape, and each one was very beautiful.

Bai Shan and Yin Huo came over at some point and sat down on the doorstep, staring blankly. In the end, Man Bao and the others sat down because they were tired of standing.

When General Nie finished checking the luggage and carriages and came over, he saw six people sitting on the doorstep with their heads in their hands, looking into the distance.

General Nie: ...

The smiling shopkeeper who followed him out couldn't help but pause, then remembered something and immediately stepped past him to greet him, "Ah, why are you sitting here, guests? What if you catch a cold? We have fresh hot milk tea made in the inn today. Would you like a bowl?"

Thinking about the bowl of milk tea they had yesterday and the price when they paid the bill, they all shook their heads and thought, forget it, it’s better to try something that is expensive and not tasty once and not come back for a second time.

The shopkeeper was a little disappointed and could only give them some pointers. "There are tables and chairs over there in the shed. It's a good spot. Why don't you sit there and watch?"

But the six people didn't want to move, "I still think it's better here."

"I feel comfortable here, too."

“The view is good too.”

"I'm too lazy to move."

"I'm hungry and don't want to move."

"They don't want to move and I don't want to move either."

The shopkeeper said: "...The kitchen is already preparing breakfast. It will be ready soon. Gentlemen and ladies, please wait a little longer. You, you can watch if you want."

Anyway, most of their guests come here at noon and in the afternoon, and now the guests in the inn are just this group of people.

The shopkeeper had no choice but to go around them and go inside.

Manbao and the others continued to watch the scenery. Mr. Zhuang and his companions, protected by their guards, climbed up the sand dunes to watch the sunrise. After admiring the sunrise, they strolled back slowly. Seeing the six of them sitting on the doorstep, he couldn't help but ask, "Is the sunrise beautiful?"

The six of them nodded in unison, "It looks good."

"Okay, wake up early tomorrow and we'll watch it again together."

Manbao and others: ...I don't know if it's too late to regret now.

Everyone gathered in the lobby for breakfast, and after breakfast they packed some steamed buns and sesame cakes before leaving.

They had only been a few hundred meters away from the inn when Lieutenant General Nie rode up to catch up with Bai Shan and Zhou Man in front of them. He said to Bai Shan, "I asked this morning, and the innkeeper said he didn't know who those people were, but they were going the opposite way we were going. They were going the same way we came."

Bai Shan breathed a sigh of relief and nodded to show that he understood.

See you at 9pm
