Chapter Ten: A Narrow Encounter

Having just recovered from a serious illness, Feng Jin decided to go out for a walk and, incidentally, inquire about Zhao Tingxuan's whereabouts.

She changed into a delicate turquoise gauze dress with fine patterns, which she had carefully made herself. The sleeves were short, and the hem fell just below her knees. Finally, she tied her long hair up high with a blue ribbon. This outfit made her look very elegant and capable.

As soon as she stepped out the door, Lingzhi surrounded her, clapping and praising her: "Miss looks so beautiful today! This dress suits your temperament perfectly, but... this servant has never seen such a novel style of clothing before."

"I just feel that the dresses and gowns in the palace are not as comfortable as clothes I make myself. If you like, I can make you a set when I have time."

As Feng Jin chatted and laughed, she carefully examined herself in the bronze mirror, unconsciously raising her lips to reveal a warm smile.

"Young Miss, please don't flatter me." Lingzhi put the ginseng soup aside and asked with a puzzled look, "By the way, Young Miss, why are you up so early today? What are you in such a hurry to do?"

"Of course I'm going out for a stroll! This palace is just a small place, nothing like the lively atmosphere outside!" Feng Jin looked towards the door with a smile in her eyes, the glint in her eyes brighter than the sunlight.

"But does His Highness know you're going out?" Lingzhi looked at her with a puzzled expression. Ever since the young lady recovered from her illness, her personality seemed to have changed more and more.

"My legs are my own body, why should he know?"

Feng Jin didn't give Ling Zhi a chance to ask any more questions. She turned around and walked straight out the door.

Just as she and Lingzhi were about to climb over the wall to leave, they were caught red-handed by several guards. Only after the two of them told the truth were they able to leave the Prince Jing's mansion.

Even if Mu Beichen is a complete waste, he is still a prince, so it's normal for him to have a few skilled subordinates by his side.

Xingyue Tower is an antique red pavilion with delicately carved windows that let out soft red candlelight, casting faint shadows that seem to dance gracefully as a woman inside raises her wide sleeves.

It is said that Xingyue Tower is the most famous brothel in the whole city. Only the sons of the powerful and wealthy can enter and witness its splendor. If you are an ordinary person, then sorry, you are not even qualified to step onto the three inches of land in front of Xingyue Tower.

Lingzhi accompanied Fengjin through several ancient streets, and they finally found Xingyue Tower after much difficulty. However, before she could even take a peek inside, she was immediately stopped by several strong men: "Our rules are clearly written here. Unauthorized personnel are not allowed to enter. Young master, please move aside."

Despite being surrounded by several burly men, Feng Jin stood motionless in place. She pursed her lips and gave a strange, slight smile: "Am I, Prince Jing, Mu Beichen, considered a nobody?"

Laughter erupted continuously at the scene. Even the onlookers on the roadside thought Feng Jin was lying. Everyone knew that Prince Jing never got close to women. Even though he had been forced to marry a few concubines out of consideration for the royal family's reputation, he had never even glanced at them. How could someone as picky as him come to such a brothel to seek pleasure?

"Prince Jing? You think I'm the emperor?" The big man glanced at Feng Jin with disdain, and before he could finish his cold laugh, a woman in red riding a fast horse and brandishing a whip came galloping towards the crowd in the middle of the street. The crowd was so frightened that they scattered in all directions, and the whole street became chaotic!

"Get out of my way, all of you! How dare you block my path! You're asking for death!" The woman in red brandished her riding whip, arrogantly surveying her surroundings. Finally, she caught sight of the child who had fallen from his horse out of the corner of her eye, and she cursed angrily, "What bad luck! I run into this mournful face as soon as I step out the door!"

Feng Jin turned around to look at the woman in red in front of her, and shook her head helplessly. She couldn't believe that the world was going to such a low point, and even the capital was in such chaos. It seemed that this was not something she could meddle in.

The woman in red appeared to be a few years older than her. Her blood-red, tight-fitting dress accentuated her curvaceous figure, highlighting her exquisite curves. In particular, her refined and beautiful face exuded a striking and heroic aura.

Mu Wange, daughter of the Duke of Zhenguo, was granted the title of Princess Yunqi from a young age because the Duke of Zhenguo was the current emperor's maternal uncle. She was spoiled and arrogant and never paid attention to anyone.

Mu Wange looked impatient, her whip raised high, about to lash out at the child. But as a white figure swiftly swept through the crowd, before anyone could turn their attention, Hua Mancheng had already shielded the child behind him.

"Huh? Isn't he Hua Mancheng?"

"Hua Mancheng? Could he be the famous young master Cheng, renowned throughout the capital?"

Ignoring the chatter of the crowd, Feng Jin squeezed into the throng. When her eyes met Hua Mancheng, her gaze lit up. He was dressed in white and had a dashing and elegant appearance.

Looking closely, his features were sharp and angular, unlike Mu Beichen's handsome and stunning appearance. However, his long eyebrows and narrow eyes revealed a hint of unruly roguishness when he smiled, and a captivating charm when he was angry.

Hua Mancheng is a trendsetter admired and worshipped by countless infatuated men and women. He is a figure who can be described as living in a mythical world. Many people want to curry favor with him, but they never have the chance.

Mu Wange had not expected to lose face like this. In her rage, she pointed her riding whip at Hua Mancheng and roared, "Who are you? How dare you be so insolent under my nose!"

So she was actually from an official family; no wonder she was so arrogant and flamboyant. Hua Mancheng casually raised his sword-like eyebrows and starry eyes, glanced at Mu Wange, and sneered softly, "Who I am is not important, but since you are acting so domineeringly in broad daylight, I must intervene and do something about it today."
