Chapter 43 On the Eve of Parting (Part 3) Ling Qianzhu and Su Fuying

Chapter 43 On the Eve of Parting (Part 3) Ling Qianzhu and Su Fuying

"What are you two talking about?" Xu Lingzhao walked to Chu Jingze's side and naturally took his hand, interlocking their fingers. Jin Chenyu's gaze lingered on her face for half a second before sweeping down their clasped hands. "We didn't talk about anything, just exchanged a few pleasantries." He smiled slightly and responded to Xu Lingzhao very politely.

Xu Lingzhao nodded. She looked into Jin Chenyu's eyes, and almost instantly, golden light flashed in them. She could clearly feel the person standing in front of her looking confused for a moment. "If there's nothing else, we'll be going now." She turned around, put her arm around Chu Jingze's shoulder, and walked back.

Now she no longer needs to use emotions to make someone willingly do things for Pasifica, especially since Lu Qianxue has feelings for Jin Chenyu, the sooner she eliminates them, the better.

Jin Chenyu, who remained where he was, watched their departing figures. He blinked a few times, as if he had forgotten why he was looking for Xu Lingzhao. That tall figure no longer seemed to attract his attention. He originally wanted to leave, but suddenly thought of Lu Qianxue, the Alpha who always appeared by his side.

Back in the private room, Xu Lingzhao smiled and pulled Chu Jingze back to his seat. Their expressions had returned to normal. The group returned to the conference room at the Pasifica base to discuss the detailed arrangements for the future. As dusk fell, Xu Lingzhao left first. She looked at Chu Jingze's somewhat sleepy eyes and pinched his soft cheek.

"Want to sleep?"

Chu Jing shook his head, wrapped his arms around her waist, and looked at Xu Lingzhao with bright eyes, "You won't be sleepy anymore once you're out here."

"Hmm... Shall we go for a walk outside?" Xu Lingzhao looked towards the brightly lit area in the distance, and ruffled his hair. "Tonight is all yours. After tomorrow, you won't see me for several days."

His eyes sparkled, and he tiptoed to kiss her chin. "Then let's hurry up and have a date."

As Xu Lingzhao listened to his words, a gentle warmth unconsciously spread across her eyes. They walked side by side without taking a car. At this moment, they were like an ordinary couple walking among the bustling crowd, with nothing else to disturb them.

Passing by a flower shop, Xu Lingzhao saw an exquisite bouquet of white roses in the window. She took his hand and walked into the flower shop. Soon after, Chu Jingze had a bouquet of white roses in his hand. He leaned closer to smell them and said, "They smell so good." In his memory, this was the second time his partner had given him white roses. He hugged the white roses tightly to his chest, his eyes slightly narrowed with happiness.

Xu Lingzhao looked down at his satisfied expression, chuckled, and rubbed his cheek with her finger. "Like a kitten." She hugged him tighter and continued walking forward.

Standing at the entrance of the base, Lu Qianxue watched the last person leave before turning back to her office to continue working. But to her surprise, someone appeared behind her—Jin Chenyu.

He was carrying a thermos in his hand, and shook it. "I made dumplings. Would you like to have some, Minister Lu?"

She walked quickly to him, a hint of surprise on her face. "You can make dumplings?"

Jin Chenyu nodded. "When I'm bored in the lab, I make myself something to eat." He looked at her again. "Would you like some?"

“There’s no reason not to eat.” Lu Qianxue’s fatigue vanished, replaced by obvious joy. This was the first time Jin Chenyu had ever invited her. The two entered the building, leaving Xiaoxue outside.

When Ling Qianzhu returned to her residence, Qingqing rushed up to her as soon as she opened the door. She raised her round little face and said, "Sister, you're finally back!" She picked Qingqing up and carried her inside. The usually quiet place was now bustling with activity. Through the glass, she saw Su Fuying busy in the kitchen. She put Qingqing on the sofa and walked towards him.

“You need to rest. You can leave these things to others.” She stood behind Su Fuying, her tall figure completely obscuring him. The man who was concentrating on cutting fruit paused slightly. He put down the knife, pursed his lips, and took a deep breath. She was so close. He turned around and took a step back, leaning against the countertop. He raised his head slightly. “It’s just cooking. Um… it’s okay, and it’ll be ready soon.”

“Then I’ll go with you.” Ling Qianzhu walked to the side and cut the fruit that hadn’t been cut yet and arranged it on a plate. When she got to the table, she found that Su Fuying had prepared a large table of her favorite dishes. He must have put a lot of thought into it. Her gaze drifted to the man again and found that he was untying the rope of his apron.

"I'll help you." She was much taller than Su Fuying, so she had to bend down to untie the ropes better. Her warm breath sprayed on the back of his neck, causing a series of shivers. Su Fuying felt that they were getting too close. The ropes that he could usually untie quickly seemed to become very slow in Ling Qianzhu's hands.

He dared not move, blinking frantically, biting his lower lip slightly. "It's done." Her voice reached his ears, and the oppressive feeling from the Alpha immediately lessened considerably. "Thank you... thank you." He lowered his head, his face slightly flushed; the Alpha behind him had helped him a great deal.

When he woke up in the morning, he felt that this was the most peaceful sleep he had ever had. There were no more of the usual countless debt collection messages popping up on his personal computer. He opened his personal computer to check and found that he had paid off all his debts, his mother, who was still in the hospital, had received the best treatment, and even his own body had a specialist doctor to take care of him.

He couldn't think of any way he could repay Ling Qianzhu. She had saved him. Without her, he might have been forcibly marked by the Alpha who suddenly appeared last night, and he would have to work non-stop to face countless debts. "What are you thinking about?" Ling Qianzhu's questioning voice came. She turned her head to look at the Omega who was in a daze.

"Ah, no...it's nothing, let's go eat." Su Fuying came back to her senses and walked towards the dining table.

That night, after Su Fuying had put Qingqing to sleep, he lingered outside Ling Qianzhu's room, wanting to knock but unable to bring himself to do it. He wasn't stupid; he and Ling Qianzhu had only known each other for less than three days, yet she had helped him so much. There was only one reason why an Alpha would help a complete stranger, an Omega. He took a deep breath and decided to knock, but the door opened first.

Ling Qianzhu already knew that Su Fuying was standing outside the door, but at this moment she tilted her head and asked him, "What's wrong?" The fragrance of the Omega entered her nostrils, and it smelled very nice.

"I..." Su Fuying couldn't utter a second word for a long time. His face was red, his fingers were tightly gripping the hem of his clothes, and his eyes were fixed on the tips of his shoes.

"Come in first?" Ling Qianzhu opened the door and stepped aside to make way for him. She looked at him, her throat bobbing slightly. Although it was very tempting, Ling Qianzhu felt that she was an Alpha with principles and would not take advantage of someone in distress.

She gently closed the door. "Want to sit on the sofa for a while?" As she walked past him, she felt her sleeve being tugged, and a low voice came from beside her. "I...I haven't been marked yet, not even temporarily." He paused, closed his eyes, and blurted out, "You...you...you can do whatever you want to me, I'll be good, I won't...it's just...if you have an Omega, I won't appear in front of him."

Ling Qianzhu listened to his words, her gaze lingering on his face. After a long while, she said, "I don't have an Omega." She pulled her hand away. Su Fuying looked at her actions and felt his face burning. A wave of shame washed over him. He felt he couldn't stay in this room any longer after being rejected. He turned to leave, but someone grabbed his arm and pulled him into their arms.

"Why are you running away? I didn't refuse you." Her chin rested on the top of his head, her arms wrapped around his waist. "I haven't marked anyone either, but I don't want to take advantage of you. Rather than being grateful to me, I hope you're only being nice to me because you love me..." She leaned close to his red, bleeding ears, her thin lips parting slightly, "and throw yourself into my arms."

Su Fuying felt his heart pounding, his mind racing. He had assumed that someone in a high position like Ling Qianzhu would have many Omegas, but he hadn't expected what she meant just now... He blinked repeatedly, his breathing quickened, and his palms were slightly sweaty.

Seeing that he didn't speak, Ling Qianzhu placed her hands on his shoulders and gently turned him around. "Your health isn't good, so take care of yourself first before having the surgery. Don't worry about anything else." Her tone was gentle, and the person in front of her nodded slightly. His sweet pheromones filled the entire room.

"Sit with me for a while? I have some things to do." Ling Qianzhu pulled his wrist and walked towards the sofa. He sat down next to her, watching Ling Qianzhu's fingers slide on the light screen with a serious expression. He also smelled the scent of Ling Qianzhu's pheromones, and his head felt a little dizzy. He leaned his head slightly on her shoulder and looked down to avoid the light screen.

"Tired?" Ling Qianzhu's low, husky voice came. She glanced at the obedient Omega out of the corner of her eye, the little one. "Was it very hard before?"

He nodded. "In the morning, I have to make breakfast, save one portion for my sister and take another to the hospital, then go to my part-time job. In the evening, I go home to cook, then go to work as a waiter at a restaurant, and come back in the early hours of the morning." He spoke casually, as if he were talking about something very ordinary.

She turned off the light screen, reached out and put her arm around his shoulder, "Someone must be making things difficult for you."

"Yes, but you'll get used to it." Feeling the warmth from his palm, he slightly raised his eyelids to meet her gaze, his wet eyes reflected in Ling Qianzhu's eyes.

"It won't happen again." Ling Qianzhu wasn't good at sweet talk, but she gently patted his shoulder. "I'll protect you, and no one will dare to make things difficult for you."

"Then... how long will it last?" Su Fuying blurted out the question he had been wanting to ask as he listened to her words. He knew that vows were fleeting, but at this moment he wanted to hear a sweet word.

“I’m not a promiscuous person.” Ling Qianzhu rubbed her nose against his forehead and chuckled. “My friends are all loyal to one person, and so am I.”

"Why me?"

Ling Qianzhu looked into his eyes, her eyes narrowing slightly, a smile playing on her lips. "You really didn't recognize me?"
