Chapter 44 Farewell (Part 4) Taking the Initiative
"Huh? What?" Su Fuying felt dizzy. The pheromones surrounding him made him feel that every move of the Alpha beside him affected his heart. It took him a while to react. He hadn't answered Ling Qianzhu's question yet.
Recognize her? He searched his memory for anything related to Alpha. He was certain he had never seen her before. Su Fuying shook his head. "Why do you ask?" His voice trembled slightly. Realizing this, he felt his breath catch in his throat.
He could even clearly feel the heat on his face, like a bonfire burning ever brighter.
Ling Qianzhu felt his body temperature suddenly rise to her body. The Omega's expression seemed a little off. She withdrew her hand from his shoulder. "Are you feeling unwell? Shall I take you to your room?"
Omega remained silent for a long time, but she was very patient. When he carefully hooked his little finger around hers and looked at her with wet eyes, Ling Qianzhu felt her breath catch in her throat. She lowered her head and slowly moved closer to his face, her warm breath spraying on her face. He did not flinch.
Ling Qianzhu turned her face slightly to the side, and under his somewhat pitiful gaze, she kissed the corner of his mouth. When she looked up again, her eyes had become deep and dark. Almost instantly, she pressed him down on the sofa, their figures overlapping. The soft sofa sank in, enveloping the Omega in the middle.
He slightly parted his lips to accept her intrusion, his eyes gradually closing, his arms unconsciously encircling the Alpha's neck. With the soothing effect of her pheromones, Su Fuying felt less uncomfortable, but her hand pinched his waist, the skin touching, sending shivers down his spine.
Ling Qianzhu's breathing was a little muffled. She stepped back and kissed the corner of his mouth, brushing the hair from his forehead with her fingers. Her gaze swept from his forehead to his slightly swollen lips, and her voice was hoarse. "Once you've recovered, you're too thin." She paused. "The marking will be a little painful, and I'm afraid you won't be able to handle it."
Hearing the gentle words, Su Fuying nodded blankly. At this moment, he unconsciously submitted to the Alpha, and he would agree to whatever she said or did.
"Go to bed." Ling Qianzhu got up, picked him up, and walked straight to the only large bed in the room. Her movements were gentle and meticulous, giving Su Fuying a feeling he had never experienced before—a sense of cherishing.
His head rested on the Alpha's strong arm, and she gently patted his back as if soothing a child. "Sleep well, the doctor will come on time tomorrow." She placed a light kiss on his smooth forehead, reached out and turned off the bedside lamp, plunging the room into darkness.
His body gradually relaxed, and he slowly closed his eyes under the soothing touch of the Alpha's faint pheromones.
In the early morning, Xu Lingzhao slowly opened her eyes. She looked at the obedient Omega in her arms, her eyes flickered, and she traced his face with her fingers. His long eyelashes trembled slightly, and soon he opened his eyes. Before him was her magnified face. He buried his head in her arms and rubbed his chin against hers.
Are you getting ready to leave?
"I'll be back soon," she said, lowering her head to kiss his forehead. Her gaze fell on the bouquet of white roses on the bedside table. His Omega was like a white rose—beautiful yet fragile. She would protect him.
These are unique memories shared between them.
Xu Lingzhao got up and put on his simple combat uniform. Chu Jing, who was lying on the bed, looked intently at the Alpha who had his back to him. He had broad shoulders and a narrow waist, long golden hair that hung down to his waist, and fair skin dotted with hickeys. Perhaps his gaze was too direct and intense, because the Alpha couldn't help but turn around and cup his face in his hands. "What are you thinking about? Your face is so red?"
He unconsciously bit his lower lip, his eyes shimmering. He didn't speak, but his expression seemed to say everything he wanted to say. Xu Lingzhao pinched his cheek, "Little rascal." Then he pinched his chin with his fingers, lifted it slightly, looked at his still slightly swollen lips, and rubbed them with his fingers. He let out a small hum, his eyes filled with some resentment.
She chuckled softly, "I'm not going to bother you anymore, just wait for me." She turned to leave, but as she did, her fingers were grabbed, and a voice filled with grievance came from behind her, "I don't want to be separated from you for so long."
Xu Lingzhao blinked slightly, then pulled the Omega out of the blanket and made him straddle her. "So reluctant to part? Then come with me?"
These words instantly perked up the Omega, whose eyes had been drooping. He wrapped his arms around her neck and asked three times in a row, his surprise and delight barely concealed.
“Really, you can go. You won’t be a burden to me.” She smiled, but her hand stroked his soft, slender waist. “However, let me help you get dressed.”
After a long while, Xu Lingzhao opened the door, her face refreshed. She happily took his hand and led him downstairs, but the Omega beside her lost his balance and fell on top of her. He looked up resentfully, biting his lower lip, "You...you did that on purpose!"
Seeing his sulky expression, Alpha steadied him, glanced at the few new hickeys on his neck, leaned down and whispered in his ear, "How could I do it on purpose? You're just too cute, baby."
Song Shuci, who had been waiting outside, opened the car door for the two of them.
The car was nicely heated. Xu Lingzhao played with his slender hand. "Still angry?" She pressed her face close to Chu Jingze's. "Don't be angry anymore, okay? I'll be gentler next time." Before she could finish speaking, the Omega covered his mouth with his hand, a blush spreading across his fair face. "You...you're not allowed to say that! I...I'm not angry!"
Looking at his lively and adorable face, Xu Lingzhao kissed his palm and pulled him into her arms. "You have to wait for me on the starship in dangerous places."
He nodded, bringing his nose close to her exposed skin to inhale the scent of her pheromones. He was already happy to be out with her, and spending more time together was enough for him. For an Omega, having a powerful and devoted Alpha was an extremely lucky thing.
She is his Alpha, belonging only to him.
The starship docked smoothly at a space station on a transit planet. Xu Lingzhao looked out the window and saw the neatly arranged and well-trained planetary forces outside. She lowered her head and kissed the Omega in her arms, her voice gentle, "Wait for me."
Chu Jing was reluctant to look at her, but still nodded obediently. In his sight, Xu Lingzhao walked ahead of the planetary army and boarded another, larger starship. Only when Xu Lingzhao's figure disappeared from sight did he turn his gaze away. Everyone's expression was so serious.
He could sense that this battle against the Queen was not as easy as Xu Lingzhao had made it out to be. He twirled the ring on his ring finger. He was currently in the lounge of the small starship. Since she left, his heart had been restless. He lay dejectedly on the bed, waiting for her return.
As Xu Lingzhao watched from the control room as the starship drew closer and closer to the target planet, her eyes narrowed slightly. Instead of entering the planet directly, the starship stopped at a fixed coordinate point.
"Commander-in-Chief, all precision strikes are fully charged. Please give your instructions." Song Shuci walked to her side and handed her the light screen.
"Let's begin."
Countless red dots lit up on the huge light screen in the control room, and the red ten-second countdown beeped. Just as the time reached the five-second countdown, a dense army of Zerg appeared on the outer perimeter of the target planet. They roared, seemingly threatening them not to approach.
But the countdown didn't stop.
The blue light from the weapon's launch illuminated Xu Lingzhao's profile. She saw countless roaring Zerg hordes being blasted to pieces by the most advanced CH-2CL nuclear weapon, their half-corpses floating in the void of space, still burning.
The first wave of attacks consisted of a day-long, precise bombardment. The number of Zerg appearing gradually decreased until they disappeared. However, Xu Lingzhao did not let her guard down. She commanded the fleet to clear a path with nuclear weapons. Sure enough, a large number of Zerg were lying in ambush in the clouds. These Zerg seemed to be more intelligent than the Zerg on the outer edge of the planet.
They no longer fought alone, but attacked as a group. However, all the starships leading the way were disguised giant nuclear weapons, and the firelight shone through the windows and reflected on everyone's faces.
Xu Lingzhao looked out the window at everything. Without the Zerg, this was just an ordinary planet. She originally wanted to use the most direct method—to destroy it, but the data showed that this planet could not be destroyed. She stared straight ahead, where the Zerg Queen was protecting the planet.
Only by finding Him and killing Him can all this end. She looked back and saw the planetary army that had followed her standing behind her, their young faces showing a resolute determination to die. She didn't speak, but turned around. She would try to minimize casualties.
Passing through the clouds and reaching the ground, military boots touched the grass. As far as the eye could see, there were the remains of the Zerg, and a stench permeated the air. This was a forest that looked as ordinary as could be, but large nuclear weapons could no longer be used in this area, and even quantum computer communications were affected by the chaotic magnetic field here.
Five planetary soldiers form a squad, relying on each other on the battlefield. Countless mechs shuttle through the forest, growing quieter the further in they go, until even the mechs are silenced. Xu Lingzhao walks at the front of the group, not piloting a mech but walking directly through the forest.
A faint golden light emanated from between her brows, and a light golden barrier surrounded almost every mech. The forest seemed endless; if Xu Lingzhao hadn't sensed that He was there, he would have thought they were going around in circles.
It was so quiet, there wasn't even a sound of wind. We had been walking for a long time, until it got dark, and the surrounding environment kept repeating itself like a copy-paste.
Xu Lingzhao signaled everyone to rest where they were. She squinted and surveyed her surroundings. If they didn't enter this forest, they wouldn't be able to find Him, but if they did, they would definitely be mentally corrupted. She raised a golden barrier for everyone to prevent large-scale mental corruption from causing a collapse.
The optical communication had failed, and her last order was that no one was allowed to act alone and not to stare at any one object for too long.
