Attack

The carriage traveled south, making no stops along the way in order to reach Jiangnan quickly, only occasionally replenishing its supplies.

The bumpy ride made Xu Lanxin question the meaning of life.

Having just replenished their supplies in a small town, the carriage traveled through a forested path after leaving the town.

With a "whoosh," a cold-looking iron arrow pierced through the air.

Xu Lanxin was suddenly pushed by Cen Yan and crashed into the carriage.

With a "thud," the arrow pierced the carriage curtain and embedded itself in the carriage wall, its fletching trembling slightly.

The sounds of fighting and clashing weapons could be heard outside the carriage.

"Stay inside and don't come out."

Cen Yan's expression hardened slightly. After giving his instructions, he flung the curtain and left.

"careful."

Lan Xin reached out her hand, but before she could grab the hem of his clothes.

Xiao Xi and Qing Yu took advantage of the chaos to get on the car to protect her. The three of them looked at each other.

The fighting was in full swing, and her heart jumped into her throat. She didn't dare to peek out to watch; at that moment, all she could do was not cause any trouble.

The carriage swayed slightly, as if someone was getting on, followed by the neighing of the horses and a shout of "Drive!", and the carriage started running.

Lanxin and the other two were thrown forward by inertia. Qingyu was the first to rush out and fight with the driver.

Amidst the flashing blades, a white light flew towards the man in black, sending him flying. Silver threads flew from his sleeves and wrapped around the waist of the blue fish.

The two of them flew off the carriage at the same time.

The frightened horse galloped forward, and the driverless carriage was momentarily disoriented.

The car was shaking violently. Xu Lanxin struggled to hold onto the carriage and shouted to Xiao Xi through gritted teeth.

"Xiao Xi, hand me the dagger from the box under your seat."

Xiao Xi nodded with trembling lips, fumbling for the dagger and handing it over.

After Lanxin took it, she struggled to move forward while holding onto the carriage, climbed out of the carriage, and tried to grab the carriage shaft.

She kept telling herself to stay calm, and finally grabbed the horse, slashing it with her dagger, breaking the horse's rope in half.

She was thrown into the carriage by inertia, and the remaining ropes snapped under the strong tension.

The horse neighed once and continued galloping away.

Lanxin and Xiaoxi clung tightly to the carriage, leaning against the wall, waiting for it to stop on its own.

After the cart shaft broke upon hitting the ground, it swayed violently before coming to a stop, and the two men were thrown out by the inertia.

Lanxin was still immersed in the bad mood of the fall when she heard the sound of horses' hooves approaching.

Her mood instantly improved, and she happily looked up, only to find that the person she was looking for was not the one she had imagined.

Xiao Muhan.

He was a decent-looking man, but his sinister eyes and gloomy face made him impossible to like.

Lan Xin glanced at him, pouted, and got up from the ground with a displeased look on her face.

Just as he was about to turn and leave, he saw a sharp knife held against Xiao Xi's neck.

Xiao Muhan, riding on horseback, revealed a smug smile, casually tapping the riding whip in his palm.

"Why isn't Madam Cen leaving?"

Xu Lanxin glared at him and simply sat down on the ground.

"I think the scenery here is quite beautiful, so I'd like to stay and enjoy it. Is that not allowed?"

The man on horseback laughed wildly.

A black horse galloped towards her, brushing past her in her shocked gaze.

With a sudden pull, he was turned around and pinned to the horse.

As the horse galloped wildly, Xu Lan felt a churning in her stomach.

"Big brother, if you don't stop, I'm going to throw up on you right now."

"You can have a contest to see if you vomit first or if your head falls off first."

Upon hearing this, Xu Lanxin once again displayed her Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtle skills.

Upon arriving at a village, she was thrown to the ground by a sudden exertion, and two dark-skinned old women lifted her up.

"Keep an eye on her. If she gets away, you'll all lose your heads."

Sitting on his steed, Xiao Muhan's eyes grew even colder, revealing a ruthless edge.

Xu Lanxin could only watch the horse's rump rushing away and the dust it kicked up.

She and Xiaoxi were dragged by the two old women and thrown into a woodshed next to the simple house.

A click came from outside as the door was locked.

"Girl, are you alright? Are you hurt?"

Xiao Xi asked with concern, while also reaching out to help her.

"Hiss!" Xu Lan hissed in pain, startling Xiao Xi into letting go instantly.

When she fell off the carriage, her arm was slightly dislocated. Just as she was about to straighten her arm, she ran into that loser Xiao Muhan, and it's been delayed until now.

"Girl, where are you hurt? Don't scare me."

She wanted to go forward to check on her, but was afraid of hurting Xu Lanxin, and tears welled up in her eyes.

"It's okay, don't worry."

Xu Lanxin gritted her teeth, her brows furrowed, and endured the pain while supporting her dislocated arm.

With two "click" sounds, the arm was fully restored.

"Xiao Xi, we have to find a way to escape; we can't stay here forever."

Xiao Muhan is currently using her to keep Cen Yan occupied, and there's no guarantee he won't use her as a threat.

The next day, Lanxin hid behind the door and waited until one of the old women pushed the door open and entered.

She seized the opportunity and struck the old woman on the back of the neck with a wooden stick, causing the woman to collapse to the ground.

Another old woman seemed to have heard the commotion and went into the house to check. Xu Lanxin did the same to her, hitting her with a stick.

After dealing with the two of them, she grabbed Xiao Xi and ran.

Although there were some farmers outside, the two of them managed to escape thanks to her rudimentary skills.

Xu Lanxin was still happy that she had found an oxcart, so she imitated the horse-drawn carriage by whipping the calf's rump, and the cart started moving.

Little did they know that their actions had all fallen into the eyes of a sinister figure lurking in the shadows.

"Run! Let me see how far you can run!"

The person behind him smirked, his eyes gleaming with excitement for their prey.

The oxcart ran smoothly on the road, while Xiao Xi, on the back of the cart, looked at her with a worried expression.

"Girl, have you ever driven an oxcart?"

Lanxin replied with a grin, "Silly Xiaoxi, aren't you running pretty well?"

Just as she was feeling smug, Xu Lanxin, who couldn't control the oxcart to turn, was dragged straight into a ditch.

Just as I climbed out of the ditch, a pair of black brocade boots appeared before my eyes.

Can I really be that unlucky?!

She looked up at the person who had come from the direction of the person, and saw a hint of mockery in those familiar, sinister eyes.

Xu Lanxin waved her hand awkwardly: "What a coincidence! You're here for a walk too, please go first!"

"idiot."

Xu Lanxin was about to curse when she felt a tightness behind her collar, and she was pulled out of the ditch.

Just as she regained her footing, she heard Xiao Xi's shouts. Turning her head, she saw that a knife was held to her neck again.

"Let go of my maid! I won't run away anymore, okay!"

Xiao Muhan gave one of his men a look, and the man released Xiao Xi.

Xiao Muhan and his men mounted their horses. Lan Xin felt a sour taste in her stomach at the thought of lying on the horse.

Give me a horse.

The man on horseback merely gave a mocking smile.

Okay, okay, is she a dog?

Xu Lanxin had a thick rope around her neck and had no choice but to run.

Fortunately, the horse wasn't going too fast, so she could keep up.

He did it on purpose!

"Damn it!"

Xu Lanxin's lifelong composure was completely broken by him! She cursed and swore the whole way.

The man got angry from being scolded and pulled her hard, causing her to stumble and fall.

He finally stopped and looked down at her with a mocking gaze.

Xiao Muhan didn't escort her to the manor she escaped from, nor did he know which direction they went.

After passing through a small town, we found an inn to rest.

Inside the guest room, Xiao Xi was applying medicine to her.

That wretched Xiao Muhan! He's given her feet all blisters. I'll make him taste them when I get the chance.

"Xiao Muhan is a bastard!"

Xu Lan cried out in pain, her face contorted with distress.

The door was pushed open with a loud bang, and Xiao Muhan, whom she had mentioned, entered with a gloomy face.

"I don't want my tongue anymore!"

Xu Lanxin quickly looked away and shut her mouth.

"Get out!"

Xu Lanxin grinned, and helped Xiao Xi limp out.

Just as she was passing by him, he grabbed her and threw her onto a stool.

Xiao Xi was pulled to the ground.

Xiao Muhan glared at Xiao Xi. Xiao Xi looked scared, and there was some fear in her eyes, but she still knew to protect her master.

He stood in front of Lan Xin, making a gesture of facing death, but was pulled away by a black-clad subordinate.

Xiao Muhan stepped forward and pinched her chin with his fingers. His eyelids twitched slightly, and his pupils were filled with a chilling gloom.

"Did Cen Yan give you anything important?"

Compared to the pain in her feet, the pain in her chin was nothing; Xu Lanxin didn't even flinch.

"If he really had something important, would he give it to me? Did he come looking for me after I went missing? If I were that important, would you have arrested me?"

Xu Lanxin could only belittle herself, hoping he would let her go.

"Brother, I'm of no value to you, so why don't you let me go?"

Although the man had a smile on his face, the smile didn't reach his eyes, and he looked mysterious and unpredictable.

"If you don't believe me, then go ahead and check!"

The man's gaze slowly moved down her face, and Lan Xin suddenly felt as if she were being slowly tortured to death.

A knock sounded on the door, and the person at the door called him out.

Just as she was feeling relieved, a sharp pain shot through the back of her neck, and she was plunged into darkness.

The next morning, Xu Lanxin slowly woke up, rubbed the back of her neck, and then belatedly sat up. Seeing that she was still wearing the clothes from yesterday, she was relieved.

The door was pushed open with a "bang," and without even thinking, it was obvious who it was—the rude and arrogant Mr. Xiao.

"Get up, go downstairs for breakfast, and set off immediately."

Seeing that Lanxin was just stunned and didn't move, he took a step forward.

"What, do you need my help?"

Nobody needs your help.

After finishing her internal monologue, Xu Lan threw off the covers and got out of bed, wincing in pain from the blisters on her feet.

At this moment, I hate him even more!

She stepped out of the room and saw that he had his back to her. Lanxin made a pushing motion.

The man seemed to have eyes on the back of his head, catching her red-handed. Embarrassed, she bent her arms and made a sideways pulling motion with her hands on her hips.

"I need to exercise in the morning, haha, exercise."

Xiao Muhan wasn't angry; instead, he smiled wickedly and said, "Aren't you going down to greet your husband?"

Lan Xin paused, her eyes widening in shock as she stepped forward to look downstairs.

She waved her arms happily, about to shout, but someone covered her mouth and dragged her into a cold embrace.

It can only make a "woo-woo" sound.

Perhaps her movements were too large, which displeased him, because he felt a pain in his shoulder and was instantly unable to move.

No way, the legendary location is a blood vessel.

Xiao Muhan draped her in a cloak, then carried her downstairs in his arms.

At the top of the stairs, a familiar scent of agarwood wafted into her nostrils. She tried to call out, but no sound came out.

"Xiao Muhan".
