Rescued
Cen Yan walked upstairs and brushed past Xiao Muhan, then stopped and turned around to look at him.
"Lord Xiao is here to enjoy the scenery?"
The man didn't turn around, but simply tilted his head and smiled, "Guess!"
Xiao Muhan left without lingering, carrying the person in his arms.
Cen Yan watched his departing figure, then stood at the turn of the stairs, lost in thought.
He only left after Qingyun came looking for him and he whispered a few words to her.
Xiao Muhan, holding Xu Lanxin, said teasingly:
"How pitiful, your good husband didn't even notice you!"
Lan Xin rolled her eyes inwardly. This person looked scary, but he was like a child.
She was somewhat worried about his intelligence!
"Someone who looks quite good, could they be an idiot?"
Lan Xin looked at him with pity, completely unaware that she could speak again.
But when she saw his mocking face darken instantly, she belatedly realized that she could speak again.
He immediately started fawning and smiling obsequiously.
"Haha, well, big brother, look at my dog husband, he doesn't care about me at all, so why don't you do me a favor and let me go?"
Xiao Muhan gave a fake smile, then released his grip, causing Xu Lanxin to fall flat on her backside.
"Get up there."
She looked back and saw a black carriage parked not far away. Not wanting to offend anyone, she obediently got into the carriage.
The man also got into the carriage. She had a feeling that they were following the same route as Cen Yan.
After all, they are rivals.
She glanced at him, but he noticed and spoke coldly:
"If you look again, tie it to the back of the carriage and run."
Xu Lanxin immediately looked away, and thinking about that scene made her feet hurt even more.
That's it, she's already traumatized.
Just as she was feeling down, the car shook violently.
Three sharp arrows simultaneously pierced the roof of the car, and after the roof was blown off, the arrows disappeared without a trace.
Xu Lanxin crouched down, covering her head in her hands, and was covered in wood chips.
The sounds of fighting and clashing weapons could be heard incessantly outside the car.
She looked up, but Xiao Muhan had already disappeared.
Just as she was thinking of taking advantage of the chaos to escape, the carriage started moving and ran, causing her to fall flat on her face.
I don't know how much time passed, but the car suddenly came to a stop.
The carriage curtain was lifted, and sunlight streamed in, casting the person in shadow.
Upon seeing who it was, Lan Xin was momentarily stunned, the gloom in her heart dispelled by the sunlight streaming in.
Seeing his outstretched arms, Xu Lanxin's face gradually changed from shock to joy, and she happily rushed over.
She hugged his neck tightly, inhaling the familiar scent of agarwood emanating from him, a scent that brought her peace of mind.
Xu Lanxin's happy mood was immediately replaced by grievance, and the unruly pearl particles began to fall.
"Why are you so late? Why are you so late?"
Cen Yan felt a deep, piercing pain in her heart; she had been hurt again.
All I could do was pat her back and comfort her.
Seeing that her sobs were getting weaker, he lifted her face and wiped away her tears with his fingertips.
"Don't cry anymore, okay? No matter where you are in the future, I will be able to find you."
Xu Lanxin thought it was just a consolation, but she never expected that he would actually do it later.
He gently kissed her forehead and then pulled her into his arms again.
"Let's get out of here first."
Lanxin was lifted off the carriage by him. The moment she stepped onto the ground, the pain in her foot made her cry out.
She was taken away by Xiao Muhan and endured it all by herself. She didn't feel much pain and could bear it.
Upon seeing Cen Yan, she instinctively became delicate and vulnerable.
"What happened?"
Cen Yan frowned, his eyes filled with worry.
Xu Lanxin shook her head and said, "It's okay, I want you to carry me. Let's leave first!"
Xu Lanxin wrapped her arms around his neck and gave a charming smile.
Cen Yan lifted her onto the horse, mounted behind her, and rode away.
"Zijin, has Xiaoxi been saved?"
"Yes, Qingyun went to rescue her."
"Where's the bluefish?"
"You were found on the first day you went missing."
"very nice!"
She was turned around by her chin and made to look at him.
Why didn't you ask me if I was alright?
There was a hint of coldness in his words, and a touch of displeasure in them.
"How is Zijin today?"
"You can only go along with this wool," Xu Lanxin smiled at him.
"Oh no, why am I ranked after them?"
Xu Lanxin paused for a moment, then gave an awkward laugh.
Well, it's best to remain silent at this point.
Why aren't you saying anything?
Xu Lanxin closed her eyes and pretended to be asleep, remaining silent.
To my surprise, she actually fell asleep.
"Sister-in-law."
The demonic shouts of the Prince of Yan'an startled Xu Lanxin awake. After being glared at by Cen Yan, he shrank to the side.
Having just woken up, Lanxin was immediately met with stares. Feeling a little embarrassed, she shifted slightly and continued to pretend to be asleep.
Cen Yan chuckled, and Lan Xin glanced at him, poking his chest with her finger, which made him laugh even harder.
He couldn't laugh anymore once he got back to his room at the inn.
Xu Lanxin endured the pain and took off her shoes; her socks were already soaked with blood.
The shocking red stung his eyes.
With a "bang," the low table next to the bed shattered.
A trickle of blood flowed down his hand and dripped onto the ground.
Xu Lanxin was so frightened that she sat frozen on the edge of the bed when there was a knock on the door.
"It's nothing."
After speaking to the person outside the door, Cen Yan reached out and pulled the wooden splinter out of his palm, then pulled the stunned Xu Lanxin into his arms.
His arms trembled slightly, which made her sense his fear and dread.
Xu Lanxin gently embraced his lean waist, offering comfort.
"It's alright, Zijin, don't worry."
She rested her head on his shoulder, her ear slightly damp and slippery.
Xu Lanxin was deeply shocked; she hadn't expected him to cry so silently.
What should she do?
"Zijin, I'm really fine. You scared me. Let me see your hand."
She tried to push him away, but just as she loosened her grip a little, he held her tightly again.
A moment later, he pushed her away, and before she could even react, he pushed open the door and left.
This operation is beyond her understanding.
A short while later, the door opened and Cen Yan came in with the ointment.
His face was terribly gloomy.
He squatted down at her feet, without saying a word, but simply lifted her feet and gently cut open her stockings with scissors.
But in some places, the adhesions were already forming, causing her to grimace in pain.
"Zijin, go get some cooled boiled water and some salt, washing it will help."
Cen Yan was taken aback, nodded, and then left without saying a word.
Xu Lanxin prepared a simple saline solution to clean the wound, but her wrist was grabbed.
He took it and washed it just like she did, blowing on it occasionally.
His careful manner made her unable to cry out in pain anymore, which made him feel even more guilty.
After the bandaging was finished, the two ate a meal, and he carefully carried her to bed and stayed with her.
"Zijin, I'm really fine, don't worry, okay? You scared me just now."
Xu Lanxin reached out and touched that familiar handsome face.
His deep black eyes looked over, filled with heartache, self-blame, and a hint of suppressed resentment that was about to reach its peak.
It seemed as if it would explode at the slightest touch.
Her wrist was held tightly, and hot, wet kisses landed on the back of her hand, one after another.
Does it hurt?
His voice was somewhat wooden and hoarse.
"It doesn't hurt as much when I don't see you, but it hurts more when I see you. You have to make it up to me."
He looked up at her and touched her face.
"What compensation?"
Xu Lanxin withdrew her hand, hugged his waist, and said coquettishly, "Kiss me, and it won't hurt anymore."
The man suddenly released her, got up and left, startling her.
What kind of operation is this?
Through the cloth, I could feel the warmth of his breath on the back of my feet, and his kisses gently fell upon me.
Xu Lanxin felt a mix of pain and tingling sensation in her feet.
This is terrible!
She tried to pull her foot back, but he pulled it back, continuing to torment her.
As night fell, Cen Yan looked at her sleeping face, turned around, and left the room.
"Send a message to Qingfeng."
Qingyun accepted the letter and glanced at Cen Yan.
Is Master trying to avenge Madam?
In a secluded courtyard, Xiao Muhan, still being fed by Meiji, was unaware of the approaching danger.
As for why he didn't catch up with Cen Yan and the others, it was because he was recuperating from his injuries.
A group of men in black landed in the courtyard, and by the time he sensed them, they had already broken down the door.
The sounds of fighting erupted inside the house; weapons clashed, and women screamed.
The attackers did not intend to kill him, but even though he was skilled in martial arts, he could not withstand the enemy's repeated attacks.
Originally injured, he was exhausted after several rounds of fighting and was forced to retreat and withdraw from the battle.
Xiao Muhan thought he was going to die, but to his surprise, his enemy was eccentric; he only took off his shoes and socks and tied them around his neck.
A man rode on horseback and led him along as they ran.
In the morning, the beggar who had been lying by the city gate opened his eyes groggily, got up to go into the city to beg, but almost tripped over something under his feet.
The beggar looked closely and saw a person covered in wounds and bleeding, with blood on both feet. He was so frightened that he screamed and ran away.
