Ling Cheng, acting like a little adult, respectfully thanked everyone in turn, and only after thanking everyone did she turn her gaze to Su Qinghe.
"Mother."
Of all the adults present, only Su Qinghe hadn't served her any food.
Su Qinghe understood what this clever little devil meant, and picked up her chopsticks to put a piece of pork rib on her plate.
"Are you satisfied now?"
"Yes, thank you, Mother." Ling Cheng nodded, an uncontrollable smile playing on her lips.
Having been neglected by her parents since childhood, she should be treated better after she comes back from her hardships.
However, her joy was short-lived, as Ling Feng's words extinguished the warmth that had been burning in her heart.
"After you finish eating, I'll check your homework to see what you've learned at the Seven Kill Pavilion this past year. If I'm not satisfied, you don't need to come back next year."
Ling Cheng wore a pained expression. "Yes, Father..."
Everyone was already used to Ling Feng's strict attitude towards educating Ling Cheng, and others would usually offer a few words of comfort.
Ling Cheng was already used to it; she had been aware of the special nature of her identity since she was a child.
She had cried and made a fuss about Ling Feng's unique strictness towards her, but she would behave herself after being spanked by Su Qinghe.
While eating, Ling Cheng looked at the two little boys next to Ling Feng, who were her own brothers.
"Su Wangyou, how come you've gained weight again?"
Looking at her twin brother, who had gained even more weight in the year she hadn't seen him, and then at her own face, which used to look exactly like hers but was now plump and healthy, Ling Cheng felt even more resentful.
"What's wrong with me? Daddy said I'm just chubby now, I'll lose weight when I grow up, and I'll grow into a great beauty!"
Su Wangyou didn't accept Ling Cheng's criticism and immediately brought up Ling Feng.
Is this discrimination really that blatant?!
Ling Cheng looked at her mother with a resentful expression, the meaning of which was all too clear.
Can't she do something about her father's behavior? It's like she was adopted.
At least she and Su Wangyou have the same face. When she sees Su Wangyou, can't she be nicer to her too?
Su Qinghe shrugged helplessly. "I'm not involved. You can talk to your father about it yourself."
