Chapter 200 Lin Xi Extra

Lin Xi has had a hard life since childhood.

Lin Xisheng came from a farming family. Although his father was a legal husband, he was unable to give his mother a daughter and even injured his body during childbirth.

The mother harbored deep resentment towards this and gave her son, whom she considered worthless, a cold shoulder.

Originally, Lin's father was to be sold, but he was only allowed to stay by pleading that he would serve the next young master.

So when he was only six months old, his mother married another woman.

Since that man entered the house, the father and son have not had a single good day.

Originally, as the father of the legitimate wife, he had to humbly serve his new husband every day.

My father did laundry, cooked, and even worked in the fields every day.

But these actions still didn't elicit any sympathy from his mother, and his father even went hungry.

He was born hungry because there wasn't enough breast milk.

Later, the new husband became pregnant, and the father was very happy, thinking that this would make the mother treat them better.

But the reality was quite the opposite; the new husband gave birth to a daughter for his mother, and their lives became even harder than before.

The new husband, having a daughter to rely on, became arrogant and spoiled, whispering in his mother's ear, causing his father to even lose his status as the legitimate husband.

Two or three years passed like this. One bitterly cold night, in a room with bare walls and a broken roof.

When Lin Xi was only five years old, his father passed away.

Lin Xi was terrified. Looking at the motionless, gradually cooling man on the haystack, he didn't know what had happened to his father.

He didn't even dare to ask his mother so late at night, disturbing their sleep, or he would get a beating.

So he just sat there with his eyes wide open, until he unknowingly fell asleep.

The next day, he was woken up by his mother herself. It was the sixth time since he could remember that his mother had stepped into the place where he and his father slept.

He remembers it very clearly; there's no mistake.

But the reason she came in was that she hadn't been able to eat the breakfast that was usually prepared for her that morning.

"Lazybones, do you want to be sold to a brothel? Why aren't you up and cooking so late! Are you trying to starve your old mother to death?"

These were the first words his mother said when she entered the room.

Lin Xi was terrified and didn't dare to say a word. She just pointed with a trembling finger at her unresponsive father beside her.

Later, he heard his mother scolding them again. He didn't quite understand what she was saying, but he knew that his mother seemed very angry.

But the usually cautious father didn't react at all.

Later, he saw his mother pull out the straw mats that were only used in the summer from beside the haystack.

His father was wrapped up inside and dragged out of the house. He wanted to follow, but Masajun ordered him to make breakfast immediately.

Later, he lost his father.

His mother originally wanted to sell him, but Zhengjun said that he was not worth much now and that he would fetch a better price when he grew up. He added that keeping him around now would allow him to do some work for the family.

Therefore, he was allowed to stay.

Without her father, Lin Xi's life became even more difficult.

He worked hard every day, but he was still often beaten and scolded by his mother and lord, and he never got a share of the meals he painstakingly prepared.

They wouldn't let him sit at the table to eat, not even the leftovers.

He could only drink thin porridge made from leftover rice in the kitchen every day.

Therefore, he was very thin, and when he was sold at the age of fifteen, he heard his mother say kind words to him for the first time.

"If I had known that being fat would be valuable now, I should have let you eat more before. I've raised you for over ten years, and in the end, I've only earned this little bit of money!"

This should be considered a kind word to him.

Lin Xi thought that eating more was always more comfortable than going hungry, and that being well-fed would make his work easier.

Later, his mother left, and he followed the slave trader to some unknown place.

He had never left the village, so he didn't know the way.

About half a month later, they stopped, and he was pulled onto the stage.

He knew it was time to start selling himself.

According to the villagers, for poor men like them, if they want to live a good life in the future, there is only one way: to be taken in by a rich man and become his concubine.

Another option was to be sold to a wealthy family as a servant, where there was a chance of rising to prominence later in life; it was all uncertain.

But Lin Xi never dared to hope for either of those things.

He was so thin he barely had any flesh on his body; it wouldn't be an exaggeration to say he was skin and bones.

He was clearly not suited for manual labor, so why was he chosen to be a servant?

As for Xiao Jun, who aspires to be rich, that's just wishful thinking.

He boasted that he had no figure, was not a great beauty, and was now disheveled. Why would a rich person take a liking to him and buy him back?

Lin Xi was already indifferent; after so many years of hardship, he had long since resigned himself to his fate.

He is destined to rot in the mud underground for the rest of his life, living a life that never sees the light of day.

As he was thinking, a pair of shoes came into his lowered gaze.

He looked up and saw a young woman whose clothes were covered in patches.

Like him, she was very poor.

Lin Xi felt that this kind of person was a perfect match for her.

He thought it wouldn't be bad if someone like that bought him back.

Perhaps it was because the heavens finally heard his heart's desire, for he heard the woman speak.

"Boss, I want the cheapest one you have."

The cheapest? That would definitely be myself.

Lin Xi is very self-aware.

Sure enough, he was eventually bought back by that woman.

At first, he was apprehensive and cautious in everything he did, but he had always been like this since he was a child, so he thought it was normal.

After returning home, when his first pregnancy failed, the woman wasn't kind to him, but she was kinder to him than his mother, so he was grateful.
