Chapter 73 Little Sun

"Yeah, I think so."

Su Qinghe nodded perfunctorily, afraid that Lin Xi would misunderstand, and also considering his feelings, she didn't want to continue the topic.

His snoring last night was intermittent; she would get used to it for a while before being woken up by sudden noises.

My brain didn't shut down for more than half an hour, so I can't really say I slept well.

Seeing the hint of fatigue on her face, Ji Qingyu silently lowered the carriage curtain that she had lifted to look at the scenery, blocking the small opening that occasionally let in the wind.

"Anyway, it's still a long way to go, you can take a nap in the car."

He stared at Su Qinghe's face for a while, then placed the newly made hot water bottle on her lap.

He has always been sensitive to the cold, and his hands and feet get icy cold every winter. Even though he and his brothers made hand warmers for everyone, he is the only one using them so far.

Su Qinghe felt a warmth on her leg and picked up the item to examine it. She saw that the entire outer layer was covered with a large round cake pattern, with dotted lines stretched along the edges.

"This is... the sun?" she asked hesitantly.

"Hmm, how about that? Isn't it a good description?"

Ji Qingyu's eyes lit up, and she nodded hurriedly.

Seeing his expectant expression, Su Qinghe knew without a doubt that he was the one who embroidered it.

Seeing the expectation that was practically overflowing in his eyes, she smiled and praised him generously.

"Yes, that's a very vivid description. It's clear you've been working hard lately."

Hearing the praise she had been waiting for, Ji Qingyu couldn't help but scratch the sole of her shoe with her toes, her face flushed with excitement.

He mumbled a thank you, then lowered his head, secretly delighted, feeling like his lips were practically curling into a smile.

In fact, they each made two, one for Su Qinghe and one for themselves.

This was originally made for Su Qinghe, but due to his poor embroidery skills, neither of his two older brothers could tell what it was about.

He was too embarrassed to give it away, but felt it was a waste to throw it away, so he kept it for himself. He never expected that Su Qinghe would recognize it at a glance!

Regardless of what Ji Qingyu, with her head down, was thinking, Ji Yuan and Lin Xi both looked surprised.

Ji Qingyu showed it to them that day, but they couldn't guess what it was, and he wouldn't tell them when they asked him.

At first, they thought the dotted lines were unfinished thread ends, but when they saw him carrying it every day and the dotted lines were still intact, they realized that this was how he had originally designed it.

Now they were even more baffled, never expecting that Su Qinghe could see through it at a glance.

"You can take it, I'm not cold."

Su Qinghe returned the hot water bottle to him, and when he refused, she added:

"Don't get cold and get a stomachache again, or I don't want to stay up all night to give you pain relief."

When such an embarrassing incident was brought up in public, Ji Qingyu blushed and, no longer bothering to refuse her, grabbed the hot water bottle in embarrassment and anger and refused to look at her anymore.

However, he remained silent for less than ten minutes before he couldn't help but steal glances at her again.

After looking at her, he looked down at the embroidery in his hand, and a silly smile appeared on his lips.

Having been keeping an eye on his movements, Su Qinghe chuckled, "Stop looking, he really does look quite similar."

Overjoyed at receiving affirmation, Ji Qingyu couldn't help but strike up a conversation with her again.

"I even gave it a name, Little Sun! Hehe."

“Little Sun…” Su Qinghe murmured, repeating it over and over.

"That's a good name," she said with a smile.

The group chatted and laughed along the way, and Su Qinghe gradually lost her sleepiness.

Soon after, the carriage slowly came to a stop.

"We've arrived, let's get off the carriage." Su Qinghe jumped off the carriage first, then turned around and helped the three of them down one by one.

There were already people waiting at the door, led by Zhang Fu, the temporary steward she had chosen that day, and a row of servants lined up behind him.

Upon seeing Su Qinghe and the others arrive, they all bowed respectfully to greet them.

Su Qinghe instructed them to move the things from the oxcart inside, and then led the three men into the new house.

They strolled along, stopping frequently to admire the scenery of the new house, their faces filled with excitement. Lin Xi's expression was the most varied.

But the noisiest one was still Ji Qingyu.

As you walk through the front yard to the main hall, and then past the artificial lake and various gardens and rockeries along the way, you can hear his exclamations of amazement from time to time.

Passing through the last corridor, you arrive at the entrance to the backyard.

Su Qinghe naturally let the group of people following behind her move her things into the original owner's room.

The room is very clean and doesn't need any further cleaning.

Originally, she wanted the servants to make the bed while she led them to continue choosing a courtyard, but the men insisted on making the bed for her themselves before they would leave.

After a flurry of activity, the morning was over, but fortunately, everyone's rooms were all ready.

Ultimately, at Su Qinghe's request, all three chose places not far from her courtyard, with Lin Xi being the closest.

Ji Yuan took a fancy to a courtyard by the lake, where many pine and bamboo trees were planted.

Ji Qingyu, however, did not want to be too far away from her brother, so she chose a courtyard near Ji Yuan's residence that was planted with many kinds of flowers.

Once everything was settled, the group gathered in the main house, and Zhang Fu, with his keen insight, instructed the kitchen to serve the dishes.

After a morning of activity, they were all quite tired. Even Ji Qingyu, who was usually full of energy, seemed distracted at the dinner table.

Lin Xi even dozed off while eating.

The group quickly finished their lunch and went back to their rooms to rest.

The snow outside had stopped, and gradually the sun began to come out.
