Chapter 479 Almost Burned to a Dust

Unfortunately, no matter how much time Xie Ting and Feng Ye had to spend catching people in Liu'er Hutong, they never ran into Xie Yan again.

In order to find Xie Yan, he went home and told his family about his encounter with Xie Yan. Before he could guide Chen Guihua, Xie Daguo got angry.

Xie Daguo couldn't stand the name Xie Yan at all. Just hearing it made his blood pressure spike, and he would immediately recall the people who had mocked him behind his back. Losing control of his emotions, Xie Daguo started cursing and swearing, giving Xie Ting no chance to continue his persuasion.

Xie Ting sighed. Although he was somewhat disappointed with Xie Daguo, it wasn't a complete loss. Knowing how much they disliked Xie was actually a good thing.

Everyone hates Xie Yan, but only he treats Xie Yan well. Wouldn't that make it easier to win Xie Yan's heart? Once Xie Yan is moved, all the benefits will be his.

He pretended to comfort the furious Xie Daguo, and seeing that Xie Daguo's emotions had calmed down, he smiled and went back to his room. As soon as he entered the room, he began to write a letter to Xie Yan.

If we can't find Xie Yan, can't we at least find where Xie Yan is staying?

However, these thank-you banquets were unaware of this.

On the 20th day of the twelfth lunar month, before it was fully light, the morning sun shone through the cracks in the window onto the dining table in Gu Bin's house.

Xie Yan hurriedly ate a few bites of breakfast before being urged by Gu Bin to leave.

The two arrived at the car, and Gu Bin helped stuff Xie Yan's large and small bags of luggage into the trunk.

Looking at the pile of luggage, Gu Bin couldn't help but remind him, "You have to be careful. Even though you're a grown man, pickpockets on trains don't discriminate between men and women, young and old. With so much stuff you're carrying, you have to be extra vigilant."

Xie Yan smiled helplessly and could only nod in agreement.

If this guy hadn't insisted on giving it to him, he would have already stuffed all of these things into his spatial storage.

Fortunately, he had anticipated this, and what he was carrying were items that looked large but were actually very light. For example, those boxes of pastries were actually empty boxes, and he had already secretly put the pastries inside into his spatial storage.

When we arrived at the train station, it was bustling with people and noisy.

Xie Yan struggled to squeeze onto the bus and finally found her bed.

He stuffed all his luggage under the bed, then, feeling completely exhausted, lay down on the bed, closed his eyes, and began to rest.

He's been so busy with all sorts of things lately that he's exhausted.

Xie Yan just wanted to take a nap to relieve her fatigue.

He didn't know how much time had passed, but he actually fell asleep without realizing it.

In the dream, he had just gotten off the train and somehow found himself at his doorstep.

Then he saw his adorable little dumpling, Chaochao, rushing towards him like a lively little firecracker, calling out "Daddy!"

That small body, carrying immense force, knocked him to the ground in an instant.

"Ah!" Xie Yan, who was lying on the train, was startled by the sudden dream and jumped forward, instantly waking up from his sleep.

He suddenly opened his eyes, his gaze still somewhat unfocused, staring at the dim yellow light above him, and it took him a while to come to his senses.

He raised his hand to look at the watch on his wrist. The hour hand was already pointing to a little past nine o'clock in the evening. He hadn't expected to sleep so soundly.

At this time, most of the people in the carriage had fallen asleep, and the whole world seemed to have quieted down.

In the corridor outside, only a few dim lights emitted a soft glow, and occasionally the soft footsteps of flight attendants could be heard.

Xie Yan slowly sat up, feeling as if his head had been hit by a heavy object, with throbbing pain coming from it.

He rubbed his slightly sore forehead, quite certain that he had caught a cold.

Why!

This wretched body of mine, all I did was not cover myself with the blanket properly while sleeping, is it really necessary to punish me with a cold?

Xie Yan couldn't help but complain under his breath. As he sat up, the throbbing pain in his forehead intensified, making him so angry that he wanted to stomp his feet.

The thought that he didn't have any cold medicine on him made Xie Yan's head ache even more.

Xie Yan endured the headache and struggled to sit up straight, holding onto the edge of the bed.

He reached into his bag, took out his thermos, unscrewed the lid, and gulped down a large mouthful of boiling water.

The hot water slid down his dry throat, which made him feel a little better.

Xie Yan knew that there was no cold medicine on the train, so she didn't want to trouble the train staff.

With no appetite at the moment, he lay back down on the bed, wrapped himself tightly in the blanket like a curled-up snail, and hoped that his body would be strong enough to get through this cold.

However, things did not go as planned.

The next day, just as dawn was breaking, Xie Yan was awakened by a commotion.

He struggled to open his eyes, feeling a chill run through his body and shivering involuntarily.

Without anyone reminding him, he knew he definitely had a fever.

Xie Yan struggled for a long time before finally managing to sit up.

Just then, a flight attendant walked by.

Xie Yan, as if grasping at a lifeline, hurriedly reached out and grabbed the flight attendant's sleeve, his voice so hoarse it was almost unrecognizable, "I...I have a fever, could you help me ask if anyone has any fever medicine?"

"I'll pay for it!"

As he spoke, he secretly took out a dollar from his pocket and handed it to the flight attendant.

The flight attendant looked down and saw that Xie Yan's face was ashen, his forehead was covered with fine beads of sweat, and he looked so weak that he seemed like he could be blown away by a gust of wind. She was really startled.

He quickly reached out to help Xie Yan sit down, and comforted him, "Don't worry, wait here, I'll go ask for you right away."

"Just hang in there a little longer. Even if no one on the bus has brought any medicine, we'll be at our stop soon, and we can get off and buy some for you!"

Xie Yan nodded gratefully, leaned weakly against the bedside, and gasped for breath.

His nose was completely blocked, and every breath felt like a difficult battle, making him feel so uncomfortable that he almost suffocated.

The train attendant didn't dare delay and immediately went from carriage to carriage asking, "Excuse me, does anyone have any fever-reducing medication?"

"There's a passenger here with a fever who urgently needs fever-reducing medication!" The voice echoed in the quiet carriage.

Soon, a thin, middle-aged man stepped forward. He took out a strip of aspirin from his pocket, handed it over, and said somewhat shyly, "I... I brought some."

The flight attendant looked at the simple, honest farmer in front of her, her eyes filled with gratitude, and nodded repeatedly, saying, "Uncle, thank you so much!"

Then he leaned closer to him and whispered, "This is the money that comrade gave you." He then handed a dollar to the skinny man.

Upon hearing this, the gaunt man blushed slightly and smiled sheepishly.
