He's so angry!
How could he have such a stupid student who can't read the room at all?
Taking a deep breath, Xie Yan suppressed his anger and looked at the guy named Liu Kang. Very good, chubby and fat, he looks like he deserves a beating!
Suppressing the laughter below, Xie Yan spoke up again helplessly, "Look, out of so many people in our class, there's only one person named Liu Kang. What does that mean?"
"Just because you weren't born in a certain place doesn't mean you should have a name. Every person's name carries the hopes and expectations their parents have for them."
"For example, this guy named Liu Kang, do you think he's the one we sleep on on the kang (heated brick bed)?"
"wrong!"
"It's Kang, meaning health. His family hopes he will be healthy and safe in the future, so they named him Liu Kang. Look at him, isn't he chubby and healthy?"
The students below looked down and realized it really was true!
Seeing that everyone's expressions had changed and were no longer the same as before, Xie Yan pressed on while the iron was hot, saying, "So, you can no longer make fun of your classmates because of their names. You have no idea what their names mean, and yet you make fun of them. That only makes you look uncultured."
"Now that everyone is in school, you will all be educated people in the future. Please don't make a fool of yourselves like today!"
The students below shouted in unison, "Understood!"
The sound was so loud that it could be heard for two miles.
"Alright, let's continue. Wang Maozi, here's your notebook. Go back to your seat and sit down. Remember to ask your parents when you get home if they want to remove the 'zi' from your name. I think 'Wang Mao' sounds better."
Xie Yan didn't want to be ridiculed like he was today in the future. Not everyone is as easily fooled as these kids.
Wang Maozi looked at Xie Yan with her big, bright eyes and nodded vigorously, "I understand, teacher."
Xie Yan: "~"
Nod your head, but don't strain it, or you'll twist your neck!
