Chapter 91 The Meaning of Yu Yuehui's Name

With the thank-you banquet resolved, things will be much easier from here on out; all I need to do is write down names.

But little did he know that what followed was his darkest moment.

Because every child after that would ask him, "Teacher, what does my name mean?"

A group of kids below echoed in unison, clearly taking it as a story.

Xie Yan: "..."

He was completely overwhelmed!

How did it turn out like this?

But what could he do?

I can't really refuse!

We have no choice but to do as they ask!

How frustrating!

Xie Yan's brain started working like crazy, trying to think of every possible compliment!

His smile eventually froze; his vocabulary was running low!

Especially some classmates, like Zhang Erniu, who has an older brother named Daniu, how can you expect him to praise them!

Xie Yan took a deep breath, forced a gentle smile, and said, "Your family hopes that you can be strong, capable, and have a tenacious vitality!"

Seeing that the little guy didn't show any satisfaction, the perceptive man immediately continued, "It's the greatest love your family can give you. Look at every village, the cows are treasures, and in your family's hearts, you are their treasure!"

Seeing that the other party finally smiled with satisfaction, Xie Yan breathed a long sigh of relief!

Help!

Someone please save him!

Why are these little devils so troublesome?!

He experienced the pain of being a subordinate again in this strange world, and Xie Yan felt completely numb!

Finally, I finished praising each and every one of my classmates.

The bell rang, and Xie Yan grabbed the alarm clock and rushed out without looking back!

That's terrifying! Those kids are terrifying!

He really didn't want to stay in this classroom for another second.

Back in his office, Xie Yan slumped into a chair, staring at the ceiling beams, feeling utterly hopeless about life!

Seeing him like this, Liu Yihong laughed and poured him a glass of water. "Here, have some water to soothe your throat!"

"Thank you for your hard work today, Teacher Xie!"

Xie Yan waved his hand, finished his water, and then said painfully, "This is so hard for me! Really!"

If anyone dares to say that children are angels, he'll have to give them a piece of his mind. Angels my foot! They're devils!

He must postpone having children in the future, or better yet, not have children at all!

Kids are terrifying!

Seeing Gu Bin's barely suppressed smile, Xie Yan asked angrily, "Why aren't you in the first class? Why aren't you in the first self-study period? No way, you can have the first self-study period tomorrow, I'll switch with you!"

Xie Yan was genuinely scared; he felt that the first lesson was definitely the one that would bring him bad luck!

Otherwise, why would Liu Yihong's classes be so good?

He thought it would be a simple class in the afternoon, but he never expected to encounter such a terrible thing!

He's incompatible with the first class!

Liu Yihong laughed and said, "Okay! We'll switch tomorrow!"

He had also gone to see what was going on over there. Xie Yan was genuinely surprised to see him explaining each classmate's name so earnestly.

Even if their parents casually gave them ordinary names without any meaning, Xie Yan could cleverly change a word to make their names shine brightly.

Especially the older students, he asked more questions, which gave him a headache, but Xie Yan could still explain to him with a smile.

These children are lucky to have such a teacher.

Xie Yan grabbed Liu Yihong's hand. "You said it! You can't go back on your word. You know I mean it!"

Liu Yihong patted his hand with a smile and said solemnly, "When have I ever lied! Don't worry, if I said I'd trade with you, I definitely will!"

"Brother Liu! You are a good person!" Xie Yan wiped away his tearless eyes, moved to tears.

"Then please let go of my hand, I need to get ready for class!" Liu Yihong said with a smile.

Xie Yan waved his hand, "Go quickly! Good person."

As soon as Liu Yihong left, Xie Yan collapsed onto the table, exhausted!

He was exhausted from class that day!

He really is better suited to being a kept man and living a lazy life at home!

I'm so tired today, I need to eat something good to nourish myself. What should I eat?

Xie Yan searched in his space and found a piece of forgotten meat. That's it. He'll make meat-filled wontons when he gets home today.

Looking at the beef still safely inside the space, Xie Yan was really drooling!

I really want to eat hot pot!

But the hot pot smell was just too strong!

Given the current hot weather, a thank-you banquet is just a dream.

I secretly prayed that winter would come quickly.

In winter, it's cold and people don't like to go out, so they feel safe eating whatever they want at home!

As soon as Xie Yan got home in the afternoon, she started to complain to Yu Yue, “You have no idea how miserable I was today. Every single one of your classmates asked me what their names meant. By the time get out of class ended, my mouth was so dry I could barely breathe!”

"It's not enough to explain to them one by one; I have to say something that resonates with them and make those little brats happy!"

"You have no idea how hard it is for me!"

Because of Xie Yan, Yu Yuehui has been coming home earlier lately. She listened quietly to Xie Yan's complaints and could tell that Xie Yan didn't really hate these kids; he had a smile on his face as he spoke.

It wasn't until Xie Yan stopped to drink water that she asked with a smile, "And what about my name? What does it mean?"

Xie Yan was stunned. "Didn't Father tell you?"

Yu Yue shook her head.

Xie Yan looked at her and suddenly a line of poetry came to mind: "After a small banquet, we strolled back across the flat bridge under the moon" (Bai Juyi, "After the Banquet").

I thought it in my heart, and then I blurted it out without even realizing it.

After listening, Yu Yue seemed to be deep in thought. Xie Yan thought she was going to ask what the sentence meant and was thinking about how to explain it in a more sophisticated way.

"Then I'll call you Xiao Yan!"

Xie Yan: "..."

Xie Yan: "Ah!"

Cough cough cough cough!

He didn't drink any water, so how could he choke?

Xie Yan's cheeks began to heat up.

This poem clearly doesn't mean that; it's just a normal poem. Why does it seem to have a different meaning when Yu Yuehui says it?

It's gotten so ambiguous!

After coughing, Xie Yan's eyes were glistening with tears, and her cheeks were still slightly flushed. She muttered softly, "Whatever, call me whatever you want! It's up to you." Her cheeks turned even redder after she finished speaking.

Completely unaware of how alluring he appeared in Yue Hui's eyes, like a ripe peach that made one want to take a bite.

Yu Yuehui unconsciously swallowed, though she didn't understand why her body reacted before her mind could process it.

Fearing that Yu Yuehui might say something inappropriate, Xie Yan quickly said loudly, "I want to eat dumplings, meat-filled ones. I brought meat back with me."

Yu Yue smiled and said, "Okay, I'll make it for you. Our Xiaoyan has worked hard today. Lie down here and rest for a while."
