Chapter 113 Go back to Star Bay by yourself

"Mm," An Yiruo said, moving forward slightly to prepare for her meal.

Because her mother was still unable to eat after the surgery, the two of them ate dinner in the living room. Despite the delicious-looking dinner, An Yiruo had no appetite and only ate a few bites before getting up to leave.

Where to?

"Go see Mom."

"Finish your meal first, then go."

"I can't eat anymore."

"If Mom sees that you've ruined your health taking care of her, she'll feel guilty. Be good! Sit down and eat, even if it's just a little bit more."

Mo Jingchen used both threats and inducements to force An Yiruo to sit down and eat again.

"I really can't eat anymore," An Yiruo said, turning to look at Mo Jingchen with a wronged expression after finishing the last bite.

"Okay. Go ahead."

Upon receiving affirmation, An Yiruo felt as if she had been granted a pardon. She picked up a tissue, wiped her mouth, and got up to walk into the inner room.

At this moment, An's mother was still asleep. After the surgery, her body was undoubtedly exhausted, and being able to sleep and rest more would help her recover.

An Yiruo then spoke with the caregiver again, explaining some precautions.

"Chen, Mom is still asleep," An Yiruo said as she walked into the living room and sat down next to Mo Jingchen.

"Yes. This caregiver is the best in this hospital, don't worry," Mo Jingchen said, holding her hand, trying to give her some encouragement.

"It does look very professional."

After An Yiruo finished speaking, she got up and walked to the window. Looking out, night fell, neon lights lit up, and the roads were bustling with traffic. There were food delivery drivers shuttling through the streets. She turned to look at Mo Jingchen, who was sitting on the sofa: "Chen, it's getting late. You should go home early."

"An'an!"

"I feel sorry for you and don't want you to stay here with me. Be good, go back home and come back first thing tomorrow morning."

"Alright. I'll bring you breakfast first thing tomorrow morning." Mo Jingchen reluctantly tidied up the things on the coffee table, glancing back at An Yiruo several times before leaving with a heavy heart.

After Mo Jingchen left, An Yiruo went into the inner room, took a chair, placed it next to her mother's bed, and sat down.

Her eyes were fixed on An's mother, her heart filled with worry. Dr. John had said earlier that the first 24 hours after surgery were crucial and required meticulous care.

An Yiruo sat in the chair for two hours straight. Finally, the caregiver, somewhat worried, stepped forward and said, "Madam, why don't you go and rest for a while? Don't overwork yourself. I'll take care of things here, so you can rest assured."

“It’s alright, of course I trust you. But I can’t put my mind at ease and can’t sleep, so let me sit here for a while,” An Yiruo turned her head and said to the caregiver with a smile in a low voice.

"Madam, if you're tired, go lie down for a while. Even if you can't sleep, lying down will give you some rest. Don't overwork yourself. I'll take care of things here."

The caregiver had never seen a boss like this before. Usually, the patients' families would dump all the work on her, leaving them with nothing to do.

But the woman in front of him was the high and mighty young mistress of the Mo family. Apart from taking a short rest in the afternoon, she had been sitting here with her taking care of the patients.

Even as an outsider, she could see that Mrs. Mo's filial piety was truly commendable.

"Okay, don't worry," An Yiruo smiled and nodded at her.

An Yiruo sat there until 11:30, watching her mother sleep without any sign of waking up, before getting up and lying down on the bed next to her.

The next morning, as the sun rose, sunlight streamed into the ward. Unlike the curtains at home, the hospital curtains didn't block out the light, so An Yiruo felt the strong light and got up to wash.

As soon as I entered the restroom, I heard the sound of a door opening outside, followed by footsteps.

"Chen, you're here." An Yiruo came out from the inner room and poked her little head out to look at Mo Jingchen who was walking in from the door.

"Yes, I've brought you breakfast. Is Mom awake?" Mo Jingchen took the contents of the bag out and placed them on the coffee table.

"No. But he should be waking up soon."

"Go wash up first, then come over for breakfast."

After arranging everything neatly, Mo Jingchen stood in front of the sofa and gestured for her to go wash up first.

"Okay, I'll be right there."

An Yiruo washed her face and brushed her teeth as quickly as possible before going to eat breakfast.

I wonder which breakfast shop Mo Jingchen bought his breakfast from; it looked and tasted very good.

"Chen, the food at this restaurant is pretty good. We can go there to eat next time."

"This is a private order; you can't get it in the restaurant."

"Oh." An Yiruo thought it was some kind of private chef, where you had to make a reservation in advance and they only served a few tables of guests a day.

"Because... I made this myself."

"Oh... Ah? What?" An Yiruo couldn't believe it.

"Yes, that's what you heard."

After the two had breakfast and tidied up briefly, a doctor came to check on them.

At this moment, An's mother had also woken up.

"How are you feeling?" The doctor walked to the bedside and asked An's mother with concern as she lay on the bed.

"I feel alright," said Mother An, her voice still sounding somewhat weak.

"Yes, once the gas is released, you can start eating some liquid foods. You still need to rest more. This will help the wound heal," the doctor instructed An's mother, glancing at the caregiver beside her.

Because of Mo Jingchen, the doctor gave some more instructions regarding postoperative care and diet.

"Thank you, doctor. Take care, doctor," An Yiruo said politely as she saw him off.

After the doctor left, An Yiruo returned to her mother's bedside: "Mom, how are you feeling? Is anything bothering you?"

An Yiruo was worried that her mother hadn't told the truth in front of others, so she asked again.

"I feel okay, but I'm a little weak."

"That's good. Does the wound hurt?" An Yiruo asked, holding her mother's hand after sitting down.

"It's alright. It's within my tolerance range," Mother An forced a smile.

"Once the anesthesia wears off, the wound will definitely hurt. Look at the questions I'm asking!"

The mother and daughter continued talking for a while, then the mother felt a little tired and wanted to sleep a little longer.

After An's mother fell asleep, An Yiruo covered her with a blanket, quietly closed the bedroom door, and went to the living room.

"Chen, aren't you going to the company today?"

“I’m not going. I’ll stay here with you,” Mo Jingchen said, shaking his head.

"Okay, then I'll have to trouble Assistant Zhou. It'll be a lot of running around!"

"It's alright, he needs more exercise; exercise is good for his health," Mo Jingchen said seriously. Meanwhile, Assistant Zhou, sitting at his workstation at the Mo Group, kept sneezing...

"Who's talking about me?!" Assistant Zhou finally couldn't help but ask after sneezing for the fifth time.

"Assistant Zhou, is it possible that... you have a cold?"
