Chapter 50 One Catch, One Nest
Mr. Song believed in producing high-quality products and could not accept any flaws. This led to a waste of human and material resources, which in turn caused prices to rise. While this was acceptable when the market was booming, it proved ineffective when Jianci established itself and used low prices to seize market share.
Imagine if there were alternatives that looked exactly the same, had only a minor flaw that didn't affect their use, and were several times cheaper. Who would pay a high price to choose Songjia Ceramics again?
In just three years, Songjia Ceramics went from being a leading company to being virtually unknown, and the bitterness of this experience is self-evident.
After finishing her work, Lin Zhaozhao went to see Old Song. Old Song was sketching on a rough piece. He was skilled in freehand brushwork, and with just a few strokes, he created a lifelike image. Lin Zhaozhao watched him work, resting her chin on her hand. "Old Song," she said, "I want to order several more batches of porcelain, in two series, incorporating the twenty-four solar terms and the twelve zodiac animals..."
Old Song listened quietly, occasionally offering a few words of comment, and the conversation was very pleasant.
As dusk fell, Lin Zhaozhao prepared to head home. Upon descending the mountain, she saw a pile of pottery jars on the ground, and she composed herself.
After the ceramics were placed on the carriage and everything was confirmed to be in order, Old Song gestured to Lin Zhaozhao, who nodded and paused for a moment. "Old Song, if you want to stick to your principles, I suggest you smash all the defective pieces, leaving none behind."
Ultimately, Mr. Song is a kind-hearted man, but he is too strict with himself. If he does not make changes, even if the current situation changes, he will repeat the same mistakes in the future.
When they returned to the Lin family home, it was already completely dark. As soon as they got off the carriage, they saw Li Xiujuan and Old Lady Lin looking out at the door. They both breathed a sigh of relief when they saw her.
"Second sister, it's fortunate that you gave us advance notice, otherwise Mother and Grandma would have been searching the whole city for you long ago."
"I'm sorry I'm late, Mom and Grandma, please don't be angry." Li Xiujuan and Grandma Lin were originally furious, but Lin Zhaozhao's coquettishness extinguished their anger as if cold water had been poured on it.
"Don't think that this matter of acting cute is over. Lin Zhaozhao, you've become quite successful now. You just ask a question and run off without even saying goodbye before leaving the city. If I had known earlier, I would have definitely sent Yangyang with you so that you could look after each other. Instead, you went off all by yourself."
"You're unfamiliar with Huichun; what if something really happens to you..."
With a series of rapid-fire retorts, Li Xiujuan and Old Lady Lin took turns arguing, leaving Lin Zhaozhao speechless and only able to obediently listen to their lecture.
In the dead of night, the Lin family home was completely silent. The four little ones, who had been fast asleep, suddenly opened their eyes and quietly moved toward the source of the sound.
"Is this really the place? It doesn't look like a merchant's shop."
“I saw it with my own eyes, how could it be fake? A rare bonsai sold for a thousand taels.”
"My goodness, if we steal the rest and sell them, we'll make a fortune."
"Keep your voice down. This family isn't to be trifled with either. I don't know what those two women ate to grow up so big. They look fiercer than strong men. It's the men in this family who are useless and live off their wives."
"I wonder if they mind having another gigolo." Rich woman, hungry, food.
"Stop with your little schemes. If you get caught, you'll be in big trouble. I've already found out that the potted plants are in the inner courtyard. We have to sneak in."
After agreeing on their plan, the two crawled forward, careful not to make a sound. Just as they were about to enter the inner courtyard, darkness enveloped them. Before they could dodge, a goat's hoof kicked them on the head. Xiao Teng finished them off, binding the two unconscious men tightly and throwing them into a corner.
Just as things calmed down, there was another commotion outside. They nimbly scaled the wall and entered, several dark figures heading straight for Lin Zhaozhao's room.
Xiao Teng and Mei Mei exchanged a glance, both sensing each other's annoyance, and began kicking without restraint. With a few clattering sounds, the Lin family returned to peace.
