Hearing the doctor say that everything was fine, Lou Yunchun felt relieved. But after hearing the second half of the sentence, he felt angry and helpless.
"Thank you. I'll go see her right away."
"Go ahead."
Lou Yunchun bowed to him and strode towards the inner courtyard.
Xu Jiang was discussing with Zeng Zhui how to keep the matter secret when she heard the voices of Lou Yunchun and Master Chen talking outside. She quickly closed her eyes and pretended to be dead.
He chased her around the house like an ant on hot pan, then he sighed and simply accepted his fate and went out.
"Haha, Brother Lou, you're here."
The two exchanged a few pleasantries, and then Zeng Zhui briefly told Lou Yunchun the whole story.
After hearing this, Lou Yunchun did not blame him. Instead, he was very grateful to him for sending Xu Jiang to the clinic.
Seeing Lou Yunchun enter the room, Zeng Zhui secretly breathed a sigh of relief. He had passed this test, and Xu Jiang could only wish her the best.
In the room, as soon as Xu Jiang closed his eyes, he felt his mind start to spin again. When he finally calmed down, he felt someone holding his hand.
"Ajahn, how are you feeling?" His hands were shaking.
As soon as Lou Yunchun spoke, Xu Jiang could no longer pretend to be dead. She squeezed his hand and said, "I'm fine. I'm just a little dizzy. Doctor Chen said I'll be fine after a while."
When Lou Yunchun saw the goose egg-sized bump on Xu Jiang's head, he felt angry and distressed. Xu Jiang's face turned pale and her voice was weak, and she couldn't say anything to blame him.
Xu Jiang struggled to open her eyes, and after a while she finally met his face. Seeing his handsome face tense, she quickly admitted her fault, "I was wrong. I shouldn't have been so stubborn."
Seeing that he was still in court robes, a trace of guilt rose in his heart. "Lord Mu's apology today must have caused quite a stir in the court. The Dali Temple is responsible for re-examining this case, and you will probably have a lot of things to do. I shouldn't have caused you trouble."
"It's my fault for not being careful enough. I didn't take precautions, so they took advantage of me." Lou Yunchun felt a chill in his heart. He touched Xu Jiang's face and felt a little relieved. "If it weren't for Zeng Zhui and you, Lord Mu would have collapsed outside the imperial city."
"It's the gods who plan everything perfectly. We're all mortals, so it's normal for us to make mistakes." Xu Jiang smiled and soothed him, "But it's a blessing in disguise. We've caught the two murderers. Let's see how they deny it. Committing such a reckless act under the Emperor's feet is an affront to his majesty and dignity. If they're found guilty of treason, they'll be in big trouble."
A cold glint flashed in Lou Yunchun's eyes. "At the imperial court today, the emperor issued an edict to dismiss Minister Wang and Minister Luo from their posts and to detain them in the Dali Temple for investigation."
If it falls into his hands, he will dig out all the bones and sort it out.
"Really?" Xu Jiang sat up in surprise, but fell back because of dizziness.
"Don't move." Lou Yunchun caught her and carefully placed her back on the couch. Seeing that she was a little dazed, he asked nervously, "How are you? Are you still dizzy? I'll go get Doctor Chen."
As he said this, he was about to get up and walk out.
Xu Jiang held him back and said, "I'm fine, I just got a little mad."
"Are you really okay?"
Xu Jiang didn't dare to move her head, so she shook his hand and said, "It's really nothing. If you don't believe me, ask Doctor Chen." Then she said, "There are still many things waiting for you to deal with in the Dali Temple. You should go first and don't delay me."
"I'm worried about you being alone." Lou Yunchun held her hands and negotiated, "I want to send you back to the Lou residence to recuperate."
The building is crowded and safe.
Xu Jiang was startled. "That's not right. I'm afraid it will scare my aunt if I go there like this. It will just make her uneasy."
Besides, she still had to go to the Imperial College for proofreading. Once she went there, she might not be able to leave the house.
"You need someone to take care of you." You also need someone to supervise you.
Xu Jiang is active and can't sit still. If no one is watching her, she will probably run around everywhere tomorrow. However, he is busy trying a case and cannot get away for the next few days, so he wants to send Xu Jiang to the house.
"This injury just looks scary, I'm fine."
"Then can you get off the bed and walk a few steps for me to see?"
Xu Jiang choked. It was difficult for her to get up now, and she could only roll on the ground if she got off the bed.
"How about this." Xu Jiang's eyes rolled around, and he thought of a compromise. "How about asking Yinyin to look after me for a few days?"
Yinyin is well-behaved and obedient, and she is easy to coax and pamper.
Lou Yunchun knew exactly what she was planning. He stared at her for a moment, then nodded and said, "Okay."
Xu Jiang was secretly happy, thinking that the matter was over.
After Doctor Chen finished prescribing the medicine for Xu Jiang, Lou Yunchun and Zeng Zhui went together to send Xu Jiang back to the bookstore.
Liang Mo was shocked when he saw Xu Jiang being helped back with a big bag on her head. He quickly prepared the wooden couch for her to lie down.
Lou Yunchun asked him and Zeng Zhuixian to help watch over the place, gave Xu Jiang a few instructions, and then left in a hurry.
Zeng Zhui went to the kitchen to help Xu Jiang boil medicine. Seeing two sea bass in the tank, he cut open one of them and cooked it into a soup to nourish Xu Jiang.
The smell of medicine wafted out and attracted Manager Wang over.
"What's going on? Making a medicinal bath?" Jin Si saw Xu Jiang lying on the ground and asked in surprise, "How did this happen? He was fine before he left this morning."
Xu Jiang twitched his lips and said, "I was hit by a blind stone."
She touched her head and found that she was no longer dizzy, but she felt a dull pain.
"Why are you so careless?" Shopkeeper Wang asked, smelling the medicine. "Did you get it from Qianjinfang? What did Doctor Chen tell you?"
"Take the medicine on time and recuperate for a few days and you will be fine."
"That's good." Shopkeeper Wang looked at the goose egg-sized bag and sighed, "They apologized for their crimes, but you were punished. Don't join in the fun next time. It's not worth it."
Xu Jiang nodded, "That's for granted."
