Wan Qingmiao asked Xu Jiang, "Sister, how about you?"
Xu Jiang glanced up and saw it wasn't too high, so he nodded and said, "Go up."
The two men came to the narrow ladder. Wan Qingmiao climbed up first, then bent down to pull Xu Jiang.
Xu Jiang could actually go upstairs by herself, but she did not refuse his help and pulled him upstairs.
The upstairs was filled with golden light, shining brightly. The two men came to the railing and stood side by side.
Xu Jiang gazed into the distance, seeing only the colorful mist and the sea of clouds. Meanwhile, a red sun was rising, illuminating the Tianshan Mountains with its color.
"Sister, is this scene worth seeing?"
"It's more than just 'worth a glance'! I wouldn't get tired of reading it even if I saw it a thousand times."
Looking at the golden waves of the sea of clouds and the red sun on the sea, Xu Jiang finally understood the meaning of "this sea is not a sea".
She couldn't help but exclaim: "This sea is not the sea, but it is better than the sea."
Wan Qingmiao smiled complacently and then suggested, "When mother feels better, we can come with her."
Xu Jiang stared into the distance and did not answer, or it could be said that he did not know how to answer.
It would take at least a year and a half for Xizhi's body to recover to the point where she could climb up to Shanhai Pavilion, but she couldn't wait that long.
It was not only because of her wedding date with Zhaoyue, but also because of her bookstore, and because of Master Lin, the Lou family, Manager Wang and all the people who cared about her, and whom she also cared about.
The smile on Wan Qingmiao's face gradually faded, "Sister?"
Xu Jiang sighed slightly and turned to look at him, "After Mid-Autumn Festival, I will set off to return to Beijing."
"But mother..." Wan Qingmiao lowered her head and said, "Mother will be reluctant to leave you."
"How could I bear to leave her?" The sun had already leaped out of the sea of clouds and drifted up to the azure sky. Xu Jiang narrowed her eyes and said, "It's just that she and I have already embarked on different paths. We shouldn't stop for each other."
Wan Qingmiao was silent for a moment, then asked, "Do you blame her? Or do you blame my father and me?"
Xu Jiang looked at him in surprise, "How could it be?"
Wan Qingmiao said, "I heard your conversation with father in the Painted Maple Hall that day."
Xu Jiang was speechless, then sighed, "It's a relief that you didn't rush in to beat me or scold me."
What she said that day was so harsh that even she herself felt uncomfortable when she thought about it later, let alone Wan Sheng and Wan Qingmiao.
Wan Qingmiao smiled and said nothing.
"I'm sorry," Xu Jiang apologized, then added, "I don't blame my mother, because she had no choice back then. I also don't blame you, because you didn't even exist back then."
"So do you blame your father?"
"I blame him." Xu Jiang didn't lie. "I blame him for lying and concealing things. I also blame him for letting my mother fall deeper and deeper into illness and become terminally ill."
Wan Qingmiao was unable to defend his father and turned his face away in embarrassment.
But then he heard Xu Jiang say, "But I'm even more grateful to him. Without him, I don't know what would have happened to my mother, and I wouldn't have been able to reunite with her."
Xu Jiang saw that he was still looking depressed, and said, "Besides, without him, there would be no you, Zhenji."
Wan Qingmiao turned around in surprise and met Xu Jiang's sincere smile.
"I am very happy that I have you as my son, and I am also very happy that I have you as my brother."
"Really?" Wan Qingmiao couldn't help but smile, his eyes brighter than the sun in the sky, "Are you happy to have a brother like me?"
"Hmm." Xu Jiang held up three fingers. "It's more real than real gold."
"Sister, sister."
"Why."
Wan Qingmiao circled Xu Jiang twice, and was so happy that he didn't know what to do. He ran to the railing, put his hands around his mouth, and shouted loudly to the sea of clouds.
"You little bastard, what are you doing?" Shan Bo was leaning over to watch the clouds and was almost yelled at by him.
But after a while, Xu Jiang's shouting suddenly started again.
The brother and sister shouted one after another, one louder than the other, until the sun couldn't stand it and jumped higher into the sky.
Shan Bo covered his ears and shook his head, but he couldn't hide the smile on the corner of his mouth.
