Chapter 35 Thirty-five Cuts

As soon as Xu Jiang entered the backyard, she saw Lin Hongchu leaning against the door. She rolled her eyes and hit her with a chestnut.

Lin Hongchu cried out "Ouch" and covered her forehead, then followed her to the kitchen like a little tail.

"Boss, you and Mr. Lou..." She raised her two thumbs and made a gesture of greeting, "Hmm?"

This attitude of digging deep into the pot to get to the bottom of things, there was no way to stop without an answer, so Xu Jiang had no choice but to nod and admit it.

Lin Hongchu opened his mouth wide, then immediately covered it, then squinted his eyes and laughed.

Xu Jiang couldn't help but laugh. She pinched her face and whispered, "Don't tell Master Lin when you get home, okay?"

Lin Hongchu nodded repeatedly, then said with some regret, "What a pity for Brother Zhuchun." Suddenly, he said whimsically, "It would be great if there were two owners."

Xu Jiang didn't know whether to laugh or cry when she heard this, then she sighed softly, "He has his own destiny. Sooner or later, we will meet."

Lin Hongchu also sighed. From a selfish point of view, she actually liked Hu Xu more. Although Mr. Lou was a good person, he always seemed a little cold to her.

She stared at Xu Jiang for a long time and thought: Does the boss like to be so cold?

Xu Jiang went to check the lily and white fungus soup on the stove. It had been simmering for hours and was already soft. She poured a bowl of it and let Lin Hongchu drink it first.

"It's getting late, let's go home after we finish drinking." Thinking of Madam Lin, he asked, "Who is the expert who treated my aunt?"

Lin Hongchu said as he drank, "It's Doctor Cui from our Daixianfang Baoshan Hall."

"Have you consulted any other doctors?"

"I used to, but for the past two years I've been seeing Doctor Cui," Lin Hongchu said dejectedly. "Doctor Cui's consultation fee is the cheapest, but now it's hard to even hire him."

Xu Jiang touched Lin Hongchu's head and had a plan in mind.

After drinking the soup, Lin Hongchu packed up her things, went to the restaurant to say hello to Lou Yunchun, and then went home.

Xu Jiang filled two bowls of soup and before she left the kitchen, Lou Yunchun came in with a cat in her arms.

He stuffed the cat into Xu Jiang's hands, leaned over and picked up the two bowls of soup, "Let's go."

The soup tasted sweet before he even put it in his mouth. Xu Jiang raised the corners of her lips, walked in front of him holding the cat, and the two of them went into the store together.

The wind blew at night, blowing into the eaves and making a whistling sound.

Xu Jiang sat across from Lou Yunchun by the fire, tilting her head to watch him spoonful by spoonful of lily and white fungus soup into her mouth. She asked with a smile, "Is it delicious?"

"Yeah." Lou Yunchun nodded, but his eyes kept falling on her hands that were resting idly on the table.

After he finished drinking a bowl, Xu Jiang was afraid that it was not enough and wanted to add more for him. But just as her hand reached out to the bowl, it was entangled and fell into his palm.

Xu Jiang was stunned for a moment, and then heard Lou Yunchun say in a low voice: "There is no one here now." She couldn't help but laugh.

I really don't know how to teach others when you say such things with a cold face.

Hearing the laughter, Lou Yunchun's expression became even more tense, and he asked seriously, "Why are you laughing?"

Xu Jiang couldn't stop laughing. Seeing that he was about to get angry, she quickly suppressed her anger and coaxed him, "Would you like another bowl of lily and white fungus soup?"

"want."

"If you want, let go. I'll get you some."

Lou Yunchun didn't let go, but held her even tighter. After a while, he said, "Go get it later."

"Okay." Xu Jiang smiled and sat back.

Lin Hongchu had walked away when he suddenly remembered that the half-carved wooden sign had fallen, so he turned back to get it.

When he walked to the front of the shop, he saw that the door was half-open. Just as he was about to push it open, he saw two people holding hands by the stove through the crack in the door.

She hurriedly slowed down her movements, covered her mouth and looked for a while. The smile on Xu Jiang's face and the love in Lou Yunchun's eyes made her blush.

She didn't dare to look at it any longer, and floated away like a wandering soul, thinking to herself: So this is what it means to be in love with each other.

Yue Nu jumped onto the table and followed the smell to lick Lou Yunchun's bowl. Xu Jiang quickly covered its mouth and pushed it away, "Greedy cat, you can't eat this."

Lou Yunchun grabbed Yue Nu's neck and lifted it to the ground. It turned around, took a bite of his hand, and ran away with its tail raised.

Xu Jiang asked hurriedly, "Did you bite it?"

It was just the kitten being spoiled, the bite didn't hurt, but when Xu Jiang asked this, Lou Yunchun nodded for some unknown reason.

And said: "It hurts a little."

Xu Jiang frowned slightly, "Stretch out your hand so I can see it."

Lou Yunchun stretched out the hand that was bitten by Yue Nu in front of her.

Xu Jiang looked carefully and touched it, but didn't see even a mark. Then he looked up at Lou Yunchun's smiling eyes, and immediately understood, so he patted the back of his hand.

Lou Yunchun's smile deepened.

Xu Jiang feigned anger and said, "You still want to drink, let go quickly and I'll get more."

Lou Yunchun rubbed her hand in a flattering manner.

Xu Jiang didn't know whether to laugh or cry. She looked at him helplessly and asked, "Let's go together?"

He nodded, then took the bowl himself, pulled Xu Jiang up, and walked towards the backyard.

Xu Jiang sighed as she walked. Why was he so clingy? But her heart felt like melting snow, soft and warm.

The two of them lingered in the kitchen for a while. Xu Jiang was so entangled that she couldn't leave, so she simply let him finish eating before leaving to avoid running back and forth.

In the end, most of the pot of lily and tremella soup went into Lou Yunchun's stomach.

After eating, they heard the night watch and realized that it was getting late. The weather was getting colder as the night went on. Xu Jiang was afraid that he would catch a cold if he went back, so she urged him to leave early.

Although Lou Yunchun was reluctant to let her go, he was also afraid that if he stayed any longer, it would cause gossip, so he had to say goodbye to her.

"I'll come again tomorrow." Then he was about to leave.

The north wind suddenly blew hard, making people shiver. Xu Jiang quickly called out to him, "Wait."

Then he ran into the house, took out a bamboo hat and handed it to him, saying, "It's windy, wear it and go."
