Then he rode his horse to chase after Xu Jiang.
The patrolmen stared at his departing figure in stunned silence. The leader patted his face and asked the person next to him, "Is it daybreak? Did the sun rise from the west?"
The waiter came up to him and asked, "Is this Lou Yunchun the same Lou Yunchun?"
The leading patrol officer asked in reply, "Is there another Lou Yunchun in the capital?"
"It really is him." The waiter looked up and saw that Lou Yunchun was no longer on the street. He murmured, "He's not as scary as the rumors say. He's actually quite amiable."
The patrolmen put their heads together and muttered.
"Did I hear correctly? He just said that our expenses tonight should be charged to his account?"
"Yes, I heard that too."
"We all heard it!"
"What are you waiting for!" The leader threw the whip to the horseman, "Hurry up! Eat him till he's worth it!"
A group of people rushed into the building. The waiter quickly caught up with them and took them to the third floor.
Lou Yunchun caught up with Xu Jiang not long after he left. It wasn't because the horse was running fast, but because Xu Jiang stopped in front waiting for him and hadn't left far at all.
Seeing him coming, Xu Jiang joked, "Guangfulou's food and wine aren't cheap. With such a large group of people, aren't you afraid they'll eat you out of money?"
Lou Yunchun pretended to turn around, "Then I'll go back and let them pay for it themselves?"
Xu Jiang laughed heartily and pulled the donkey to block him. "When did you learn to make fun of people?"
Lou Yunchun just smiled.
"You heard from them that Guangfulou has good food and wine, so that's why you took me there?"
"I often heard them talk about it in private, and I've always wanted to bring you here to try it. It really tastes good."
That's why I treated you to a meal as a thank you.
Xu Jiang reminisced about the food and wine at Guangfulou and couldn't help but praise it, "The food and wine are indeed good, and the people are friendly. No wonder the business is so brisk. I just didn't expect to run into Feng Miao there. I wonder if the capital is too small, or if I'm just lucky."
Thinking of Feng Miao's actions today, Lou Yunchun reminded him, "This person has evil intentions and is scheming. If you run into him next time, stay away from him."
"That's for nothing." Even if Lou Yunchun hadn't said it, Xu Jiang would have stayed away from such a person. "I just heard that he wants to take the imperial examination this time. With his current determination and talent, I'm afraid it would be futile even if he took it again. I don't know what he's trying to achieve."
"He's just a slacker on the imperial examinations. He doesn't strive for advancement, only for pleasure. He uses the exam as an excuse to extort money from his family, and he'll do anything to get ahead by currying favor with the rich and powerful." Lou Yunchun's expression was filled with sarcasm. "But what he doesn't know is that the rich and powerful never give up their chance to prosper easily. To them, people like Feng Miao are nothing more than playthings in their spare time, lackeys when needed, and can be discarded at any time."
It's rare to hear Lou Yunchun say such harsh words, and it's also rare to see him show obvious dislike for someone.
Xu Jiang couldn't help but look at him a few more times, "Are you speaking up for Jiang Gu?"
"Jiang Gu?" Lou Yunchun was stunned and speechless for a long while. After a long while, he said, "I did this for you."
"Ah?" Xu Jiang was stunned for a moment, then a trace of sweetness filled her heart. Seeing that he was feeling suffocated by her, she gave him a flattering smile, "I knew that in heaven and on earth, only Zhaoyue is the best."
Lou Yunchun stared at her for a moment, then suddenly leaned over and took the reins from her hand, then whipped the horse and urged it on.
"Hold on tight."
The donkey was pulled by him and forced to spread its hooves and run at the same pace as the horse.
The wind is howling and the lights are flickering.
Xu Jiang lay on the donkey's back, feeling dizzy from the shaking. When the donkey stopped, she looked up in a daze and found that she had returned to the bookstore.
Xu Jiang heard Lou Yunchun dismount, and then a tall figure came over. Then her waist tightened, her body lightened, and she was pulled into a warm embrace.
Xu Jiang let out a low cry and quickly climbed onto Lou Yunchun's shoulders, but Lou Yunchun couldn't wait to come closer and suppressed her heart that was about to jump out.
The stubborn donkey ran all the way, panting so hard that it almost died. It used its head to push the two people who were biting each other, and then insisted on going into the yard to drink water, but Xu Jiang slapped it on the head.
It was so angry that it kept digging its hooves. Is there any justice in the world?
When Wu Qingchuang brought the printing master over, Xu Jiang had just finished breakfast and was about to clean the bookstore.
"Shopkeeper Xu, I've brought the person to you."
"Hey, please come in." Xu Jiang invited the person into the house while looking at the person behind Wu Qingchuang.
This person was smaller than she had expected. Although he was half a head taller than she was, he still looked like a teenager, no more than sixteen or seventeen. He wasn't particularly striking in appearance, but his temperament was calm and composed. His eyes, with their distinct black and white, looked at people without hesitation, and his thoughts were clearly visible at a glance, a rare clarity.
Xu Jiang withdrew his gaze and ushered the two of them in. "Let's sit down and talk in detail."
The young man was a little reserved. After Xu Jiang and Wu Qingchuang were seated, he was the last one to sit down.
Xu Jiang poured tea into cups and asked, "What's your name?"
Wu Qingchuang winked at the young man, who replied in a deep voice, "Liang Mo."
"How old?"
"Seventeen."
Xu Jiang glanced at Wu Qingchuang and handed him a cup of tea.
Wu Qingchuang didn't even bother to drink, and said anxiously: "Don't look at his young age, he is very skilled. If you don't believe me, Manager Xu, I will let him show you his skills later. I guarantee you will be satisfied."
"Don't worry, Shopkeeper Wu. I didn't say I don't believe you." Xu Jiang handed Liang Mo another cup of tea and asked, "Besides stamping, do you know anything else?"
"The entire set of regulations will be published."
“Will it also be stereotyped?”
“Yes, but it’s not carved well enough.”
Not good enough, but not bad.
Humble but not servile, and confident, Xu Jiang nodded secretly, not bad.
She smiled slightly and asked, "Are you taking orders or doing monthly work?"
