He searched around and, sure enough, he found Han Caiying lying unconscious on a step not far away.
"Han Chae-young, wake up?"
Gu Tingzhou tried to wake her, but Han Caiying fainted.
"It's probably because the wound was too severe and there was excessive blood loss."
Without any hesitation, he immediately tore a long strip from his shirt, tied it around her arms, carried her on his back, and ran towards the clinic.
At the clinic, after the doctor disinfected and applied medicine, Han Chae-young finally woke up.
"That's great, you're awake."
Han Chae-young nodded. "Did you bring me here?"
"Yes, I came back to look for you and found you weren't there. Then I found out you had fainted."
Even the doctor said, "Little girl, you are really strong. With such a big wound, any other girl would probably be crying by now."
"It's alright, I'm a former military doctor. Medical students aren't afraid."
"You're a military doctor?" The doctor was surprised; being able to be a military doctor meant that his medical skills were not bad.
"It used to be, but it's not anymore. I'm looking for a job."
"Why don't you come and help out at the clinic? The clinic is short-staffed, and they'll provide food and lodging."
"But I need a letter of introduction, right?" Han Caiying hesitated. Who would be willing to give her a letter of introduction when she was discharged from the army?
"I'll open it for you," Gu Tingzhou said quickly. "You've done me a favor."
Han Chae-young looked at him gratefully and nodded.
"Thank you, Gu Tingzhou."
"You're welcome, it's my pleasure."
P.S.: These chapters focus more on Gu Tingzhou. That's because everyone seems to like Gu Tingzhou.
