Chapter 227
It was around 3 or 4 in the afternoon when Pique came over. Kaka had already taken Luka out in the morning.
Originally, Kaka was planning to take Junior with him, but Junior looked unhappy. He held Cristiano's calf and stared at his father, refusing to let go. Cristiano softened his heart and agreed to let Junior stay without any hesitation.
"Junior is too clingy to you." Kaka smiled helplessly upon seeing this.
"He is still young, and he has always been by my side since he was a child. This is always different." Cristiano said when he heard it. He lowered his head to look at Junior who was clinging to his calf, bent down and picked up the little guy.
Kaka thought of how Junior in his previous life always stuck to Cristiano. He smiled and nodded, "Okay, I'll take Luca out first. Call me when you guys are ready in the evening?"
"Yeah." Cristiano responded, he looked up and looked at Kaka.
Kaka narrowed his eyes, leaned in and kissed Chris's soft nose: "Then let's go."
Cristiano raised the corner of his mouth, and Junior buried his head and pressed himself into Cristiano's chest - please, do you have to kiss me through him? Doesn't anyone consider his feelings?
After Kaka took Luca out, Cristiano carried Junior back to the living room.
He sat down on the spot surrounded by life-sized stuffed toys and a soft blanket on the floor. The housekeeper Emma came over and was about to take Junior away, but was stopped by Cristiano: "It's okay, Emma, Junior and I will play for a while, you go ahead and do your work."
"Yes, sir." Emma responded, "Do you need me to prepare dinner for you and your friends tonight?"
"No thanks." Cristiano shook his head. He had no such intention.
Emma nodded.
When Cristiano saw Emma walk away, he lowered his head to look at the little guy sitting between his legs playing with a stuffed toy. He gently pinched Junior's cheek and said, "Junior, look at me."
He knew that Junior was now able to control his tongue and communicate with him normally.
Junior pursed his lips and looked at Cristiano with wide eyes with an innocent look: "Papa?"
"Junior, you still don't like Kaka, right?" Cristiano scratched the little guy's chin and teased Junior, "Tell Papa, what do you think?"
Junior wrinkled his nose slightly, then slowly dodged Cristiano's action that was like tickling a puppy: "I just want to be with papa."
"But you didn't answer my question." Cristiano scooped up Junior's head and rested his chin on the top of the boy's head to stop him from moving. He tickled Junior's skin, "But you didn't answer my question, little guy. You have to answer Papa's question directly, or I will keep doing this."
Junior burst into laughter, rolled around in Cristiano's arms, and laughed so hard that tears were about to come out: "Papa! Papa!"
After a long while, Cristiano made Junior so breathless that he could not play anymore. He stopped, picked up a small bottle of warm water beside him and stuffed it into Junior's hands. The little guy held the bottle in both hands and drank the water.
"Junior--" Cristiano waited for Junior to finish drinking the water. He drew out his voice, held his chin and looked at his little son, blinking to indicate that he should answer the question properly.
Junior played with the corner of Cristiano's shirt for several seconds before he slowly said, "...yes papa."
"Because of what happened in the past? I remember you used to like him very much." Cristiano hugged the small and soft little guy in his arms, his heart softened, and he asked patiently in a low voice.
Junior could tell there was no dissatisfaction or sadness in Cristiano's voice. He looked up at his father and saw pure inquiry in his father's eyes. He pursed his lips and said, "No, that's because I thought he could make you happy. But he didn't do it well."
Cristiano was silent for a moment, then he kissed Junior's heart: "We have some real problems that we have to face. He once thought that it was insurmountable, but at that time I think one day he will realize that nothing is impossible. The only difference is a door."
Junior looked at Cristiano.
His father went on to say: “Except death, nothing is insurmountable.”
Junior suddenly pinched the corner of Cristiano's clothes. He remembered the message he suddenly received after waking up that day. It was like a bad joke that he couldn't believe.
"But what happened to us was a miracle. The world gave us a chance to start over. So you see, I cherish this world and this opportunity. I don't want to let the complaints and regrets of the last life fill the relationships in this world. It's such a waste." Cristiano gently untied Junior's fingers and said softly, "I am enjoying every moment in this world, whether it is good or not so good. This is my idea, Junior."
He knew it was too cruel to talk to Junior about death, but Junior had already experienced it all, and he couldn't always avoid talking about it.
He hugged his child and said softly, "Junior, I'm sorry for making you go through this. I'm really sorry."
"If possible, Junior, I also want to see you grow up. I really hope I can always be with you and accompany you until you grow up until you don't need me anymore..." Cristiano stroked Junior's curly and fluffy short hair and whispered.
Junior hugged Cristiano tightly and buried his head in Cristiano's shoulder. Cristiano clearly felt that the piece of clothes was getting wet quickly.
"No, I will always need you, papa, I will always need you, don't leave me." Junior quickly interrupted Cristiano's words like a pleading, he murmured softly, "I'm sorry, papa, I'm sorry..."
Cristiano's eyes almost turned red at the same time. He pulled Junior out of his arms, holding the little boy's soft, red face with both hands. He felt his heart tighten and ache.
He frantically wiped Junior's tears, and it seemed as if the more he wiped away, the more tears there were.
"Oh my God, Junior, no, why should you say sorry? You never have to say this word to me, Junior, you are my child, I will always love you, protect you and be with you until I can't do it anymore." Cristiano's voice was hoarse, he looked into Junior's eyes and asked Junior to look at him and see his seriousness and commitment.
"I shouldn't have left you that day, papa. I shouldn't have had a big fight with you and left you. I shouldn't have done that for someone who had nothing to do with me..." Junior said softly.
He was always in pain. That day was the biggest or only conflict he had ever had with his father. In his life since he was a teenager, they had always been on good terms. He never thought they would have a quarrel, let alone that this quarrel would cost him such a price.
"Junior, listen, this is not your problem. This has nothing to do with you." Cristiano almost gasped. He pinched Junior1's neck slightly and said seriously in a low voice, "It was an accident. Even if nothing like this happened, an accident is an accident. When it happens, no one can stop it."
Cristiano saw that Junior was about to cry again. He realized that his voice was too serious. He quickly slowed down his tone and said softly: "All we can do is choose to live without regrets in the present. I love you, Junior. I will love you with everything I have. You will do the same, right?"
Junior nodded quickly, his two little arms hung around Cristiano's neck, and his cheek pressed tightly against Cristiano: "Yes papa, I love you, I will love you forever."
"Me too, little guy," Cristiano whispered, kissing the boy's cheek. He didn't even want to ask questions about Kaka anymore.
But Junior took the initiative to say, "I will be good to Kaka, papa."
"No, no, Junior, this is not what I want, and this is not what I want to ask." Cristiano frowned quickly when he heard that. He pursed his lips in annoyance, and then said, "Listen, Junior, you are you. You shouldn't force yourself to do something just because I like someone. This is not what I want to see."
"In fact, I am very satisfied now," Cristiano said.
He was silent for a few seconds, then said, "Originally I just wanted to know where the problem lies, but now I realize that I forgot to look at the problem from your perspective from the beginning. I shouldn't have forced you to understand the problem between Kaka and me. You should have your own perspective and your own ideas, instead of what I force on you and ask you to understand."
"Kaka and I, that's our business, it has nothing to do with you or Luka, maybe you can treat him as a roommate for now? Just keep what you want and feel comfortable with, if one day you find that he may be a little different from what you thought, if you want to accept him, then do it." Cristiano said, "Never, never force yourself, okay Junior? I just want to see you happy."
