Chapter 25 of Ghost Buddha Yang

Chapter 25 of Ghost Buddha Yang

"A prophet?"

Yan Ran didn't know how he managed to come up with this word, but the whole place was silent for two seconds, followed by two minutes of laughter.

Master Chen took two steps forward with a smile on his face while rolling the walnuts in his hand.

"Madam Prophet, I presume you're worth over a hundred million. With your wealth, why don't you come here and compete with us for a tiny bit of meat?"

Yan Ran studied psychology, but that didn't mean she had good mental skills. Her face was already flushed red.

"What do you mean?"

"Aren't you a prophet? Predicting the winning lottery numbers wouldn't be a problem for a master like you, right? So, your net worth of over 100 million wouldn't be a problem, would it?"

After Chen Shifu finished speaking, he turned his head to glance at Yan Ran's small basin.

Yan Ran was already powerless to refute what he said, and with him staring at the small basin, Yan Ran felt that she might as well jump off the building today...

"Master Chen, what you said is too unprofessional."

Jie Qianchou pressed down the brim of his hat and walked in front of Yan Ran.

Seeing the young man who had come to Yan Ran's aid, dressed like a tour guide, Chen Shifu felt a little disdainful. He only uttered a soft "Oh" as a response.

"Don't judge others by yourself; judging yourself will surely lead to your own death."

Jie Qianchou imitated Chen Shifo's smile, and didn't care whether he answered or not. He just paused and continued to talk to himself.

"What? No way! Master Chen, have you never even heard of the ancestral teachings of the Mayi School?"

Chen Shifu had just claimed to be the heir of the Ma Yi Sect, and now Jie Qianchou's outburst immediately made Chen Shifu embarrassed. He hurriedly tried to defend himself, but he only managed to say "uh" before being quickly interrupted by Jie Qianchou.

"You're still...? You don't even know the ancestral teachings, yet you claim to be the heir?"

Master Chen was angry. How could he not let people speak?

How could Jie Qianchou give Chen Shifo any chance? He continued to speak like a machine gun.

"Since ancient times, no matter how accurate a fortune teller is, he wouldn't dare to read his own fortune. Why? Because he would die! Similarly, even if Master Yan Ran's predictions have never failed, he can't predict his own fortune. If you don't believe me, you can ask Master Chen Shifo to demonstrate it to you right now!"

All eyes on the field were cast on Chen Shifu.

Master Chen looked around, feeling embarrassed for a moment.

Chen Fangqin clapped her hands and said, "Alright, it's getting late. I wonder how the prophet Yan Ran plans to catch ghosts?"

Upon hearing this, Master Chen became energetic again.

"That's right. We don't need a prophecy about whether there are ghosts here. What Mr. Zhang wants is how to get rid of the ghosts here!"

Seeing that he was about to make trouble again, Jie Qianchou smiled and took two steps forward.

"You're an amateur again, aren't you?"

Master Chen instinctively took half a step back, and pointed at Jie Qianchou with his hand holding the walnut, wanting to scold him.

Jie Qianchou spoke faster than he did, and said, "Excuse me, Master Chen, you just performed a series of operations, exorcising ghosts and demons. Was the ghost male or female, old or young, big or small?"

“Ah, this…”

"What time does the ghost like to come out and go back? Where is it usually at? What are the ghost's preferences? What kind of personality does it have?"

"You, you're talking nonsense! When did you need to know this about exorcism?"

Jie Qianchou's fingers gently stroked the brim of his hat.

"You know nothing, what the hell are you trying to catch? I'm afraid you can't even catch a liar, right?"

Chen Shifo was so angry at Jie Qianchou that he was fuming. Finally, he found the right opportunity to utter a complete sentence.

"Nonsense! Since ancient times, exorcism has always been about opening an altar and performing rituals to directly liberate the ghost. How can it be like what you said? I'm not introducing ghosts to partners, I don't care if they're male or female!"

Jie Qianchou raised a finger and shook it gently in front of Master Chen.

"This little Taoist! Even I can perform rituals!"

Chen Shifu found his rhythm and pressed on, "Who are you? Even if it's necessary for you to perform the ritual, it has to be that prophet, right?"

Jie Qianchou ran back to Yan Ran.

"I am the assistant of the prophet Yan Ran, and an expert in combating counterfeiting—Jie Qianchou!"

Xie Qianchou emphasized the words "fighting counterfeiting" and made a face at Master Chen after he finished speaking. This made Master Chen so angry that his hands were shaking.

"Okay, okay, if you can do it, then come on!"

Master Chen simply folded his arms and stepped aside.

Xie Qianchou grinned at everyone, then pulled Yan Ran back two steps. Xie Qianchou whispered a few words to Yan Ran, and Yan Ran's expression became even more strange.

Jie Qianchou walked back to the center of the lawn. When he turned around, his camel-colored mountaineering suit instantly turned white.

Master Chen rubbed his eyes and began to look the young man in the face.

Jie Qianchou pulled out a few incense sticks from his bag and pulled out a straw man from the side. This straw man looked exactly like the one Master Chen had used before.

Chen Shifu snorted, "I thought it was something new, but it's just learning and applying it now."

Xie Qianchou was not angry either, and grinned at Chen Shifo again. Chen Shifo felt a little nauseous when he saw this.

Xie Qianchou dug a few holes in the ground, lit the incense, and stuck it in. He didn't hold the straw man in his hand like Master Chen did, but placed it right in front of the incense.

Jie Qianchou made hand gestures, and used the Three Mountains Technique, Mysterious Sky Technique, and Seeking Dragons and Tigers Technique, and stomped his feet hard three times.

"Manipulating the Way of Heaven, transforming the two principles, giving rise to yin and yang, turning the world around, responding to the amnesty order."

Jie Qianchou chanted some incantations, and the three incense sticks stuck on the ground gradually emitted thick smoke.

"The sky and the earth are boundless, the universe borrows the law, hurry up and obey the law, command!"

Jie Qianchou let out a low roar and pointed his sword-like finger at the straw man on the ground.

The straw man seemed to suddenly come to life, swaying from side to side and slowly standing up from the ground.

There was a moment of complete silence on the field.

Jie Qianchou suddenly shouted, "Monster, can you still run away?"

The straw man was like a mouse seeing a cat, swaying and running outside.

Jie Qianchou pinched the Fire Spirit Technique with his hands and pointed at the straw man: "Fire magic, Soul Devouring Hellfire!"

I saw a line of fire rushing from Jie Qianchou's hand to the straw man. In an instant, blue-green flames burst out from the straw man, and in just a moment it turned into ashes on the ground.

Jie Qianchou retracted the magic spell in his hand. He did not pretend to be weak like Chen Shifo, but strode back to Yan Ran with his head held high.

Jie Qianchou suddenly grabbed Yan Ran's hand and placed it on his forehead.

"Great prophet, thank you for your guidance. I now know that the ghosts here are so powerful. Even after being injured, disabled, and sealed, they can still run out and cause trouble!"

Yan Ran pulled his hand back in disgust, while Chen Shifu, who was standing opposite him, looked constipated.

Chen Shifu walked to the center of the lawn and used his feet to dig up the wood ash on the ground but found nothing.

Chen Fangqin glanced at the watch on her hand and sounded a little impatient.

"Finally, we asked Master Lechen to exorcise the ghost."

The monk who had been sitting on the edge of the lawn, chanting with his head bowed, had made no impression on anyone. Only when his name was called did he slowly stand up.

"Amitabha."

He chanted a Buddhist name, lowered his head, and sat back down.

Chen Fangqin paused, looked at Chen and saw that he didn't move anymore, then she took two steps forward.

"Thank you all for participating. Tomorrow, General Zhang will announce who will perform the exorcism ceremony for the villa."

Is this...over?

Jie Qianchou and Yan Ran exchanged glances. Did Le Chen's chanting of a Buddhist mantra count as participation? Then what about those people jumping around like monkeys just now?

"Wait a minute!"

Tongtian Wu stomped on his wooden staff.

"What's going on with that monk? We've all shown off our skills, so is he voluntarily withdrawing?"

Chen Fangqin explained, "Master Liaochen is a senior monk from Wujue Temple at the foot of the mountain. He has always exorcised ghosts in this way. Please don't misunderstand me, Masters."

"What a bad decision!" Xie Qianchou muttered, shaking his head. "If I knew I could get through this, why bother with all that?"

Yan Ran glared at him.

Tongtian Wu stroked the wooden staff in his hand.

"That is to say, this monk has connections and enjoys special privileges."

He is not angry or happy and does not show it on his face.

"You are eliminating ghosts and monsters, but I am eliminating karma. Libati, quhaquhati, dhāraṇīti, niharati..."

After saying this, Le Chen lowered his head and recited scriptures, ignoring everything else.

Jie Qianchou nodded secretly. He had to write this sentence down so that it would be impressive!

Chen Shifu and the others looked at Zhang Chunhe and saw him standing there laughing like an idiot. They didn't say anything. After all, if the boss had no objection, what else could anyone else say?

Just as the party was about to end, Yan Ran suddenly spoke.

"Wait a minute. I said I was a prophet, and now I'm going to make my first prediction."

Yan Ran instantly became the focus of the whole audience. What was this little girl, who looked out of place here, planning to do?

Yan Ran's eyes slowly swept across the crowd, confident and steady.

"Someone here isn't trying to exorcise ghosts at all. He has other motives in mind."

Chen Shifo, Platycodon, Tongtian Wu, Liaochen, and Zhang Chunhe all stared at each other, no one speaking. Silence fell once again.

Yan Ran took off his hat, and his black hair fluttered in the last rays of the setting sun.

"Something bad is about to happen here."
