Chapter 117 I'll Take It Seriously

Chapter 117 I'll Take It Seriously

"Actually, you shouldn't have acted so impulsively just now." She was telling the truth.

If I had been able to endure the calm and tranquility just now, I wouldn't be injured again now, and I wouldn't be lying here, my life hanging in the balance.

Bian Xi just smiled and didn't say anything.

He didn't regret his impulsive actions at all. If he really regretted anything, it was that he should have fired without hesitation instead of waiting until they were far away before taking action, thus missing a golden opportunity.

"Bian Xi, I beg you, this is the first time I've ever begged you. Even if it's just for my sake, please don't hurt Fu Yungui anymore. I'm already married to him."

"He is my future life partner, and I don't want anything to happen to him."

These words struck Bian Xi like a bolt from the blue.

The man's face was filled with astonishment, surprise, and disbelief.

At that moment, he almost thought he had just hallucinated, as if he had just experienced a nightmare.

As she spoke, Momo held up her finger, letting the silver ring bear witness for her.

This also allowed Bian Xi to see clearly that this was not the diamond ring Fu Yungui had given her before, but a brand new ring that he had never seen before.

She knew that only in this way would he possibly believe what she said.

"This is our wedding ring." She had already held out her finger to him.

Lying on the ground, Bian Xi looked at her ring finger. The ring marks around her slender, white finger were very obvious, indicating that she had worn it for quite some time.

He struggled to his feet, supporting himself with one hand. Looking at the face before him, which had once been pure, innocent, and adorable, now seemed to possess a certain allure—a charm only a mature woman could have.

Why it appeared on her face? As a man himself, he didn't need to think much about what might happen during this time.

Thinking of this, Bian Xi felt an extreme pain in his heart, which completely overshadowed the physical pain on his body.

He had just noticed the ring on Fu Yungui's hand. The moment he saw it, a terrible thought crossed his mind, but he never expected it to be a wedding ring.

He didn't believe it.

He would never believe it was true.

Blood dripped down Bian Xi's arm, but he didn't care at all. He stared intently at the person in front of him, hoping to get a different answer from her eyes.

But in those clear eyes, there was no ripple of emotion.

Bian Xi felt even colder. He knew Momo well; when she lied, it was very easy for people to see through her. But now, there was no sign of anything unusual on her face, no panic or embarrassment.

She appeared very calm, as if everything she was saying was the truth.

Bian Xi refused to give up and continued to struggle in self-deception.

"Momo, I know you're lying to me. How could you possibly marry Fu Yungui?"

"You wouldn't want to marry him."

Seeing the pain on his face, Momo felt extremely distressed, but she couldn't show it at all. If she didn't let Bian Xi give up on her, he wouldn't have a chance to live today.

She took a deep breath, trying to calm herself down as quickly as possible.

"Bian Xi, I really didn't lie to you. I bought this ring for Fu Yungui. Otherwise, how could the silver rings we're wearing be so cheap?"

Momo spoke these words while concealing her inner pain, and then wanted to make her words even more heartless.

She didn't know whether to feel fortunate or extremely unfortunate, but the things she had been unwilling to do and even hated at the time, such as buying a ring and talking about marriage, had actually come in handy today.

Momo laughed as she spoke, finding it somewhat amusing.

"Perhaps people change. Although I can't honestly say how much I like him now, I'm willing to marry him."

“Momo…” He didn’t want to hear her say those words at all.

Whether she was lying to him or not, he didn't want to hear those words from her mouth, didn't want to hear her say she was willing to follow Fu Yungui.

How could she possibly be willing to marry Fu Yungui? Given how he treated her and herself before, how could she not hate him? How could she possibly be willing to marry him?

“Bian Xi, I know you may not believe it, but it’s the truth. I’m human too, and I can’t be as cold and ruthless as a machine.”

“During my time in Thailand, Fu Yungui has been really good to me, so good that I can choose to forget the unpleasant things that happened before.”

“I can ignore the hurt he caused me in the past and choose to only see the good in him.”

“He’s already a great catch, isn’t he? He’s got a lot of money, and his looks and physique are impeccable. Why wouldn’t I want to marry him?”

"Moreover, I'm fed up with that kind of life where people are constantly fighting over me, and I wish my days could be a little more peaceful."

Momo spoke with some emotion, each word like a sharp blade, piercing Bian Xi's heart with unerring precision.

After she finished speaking, she looked up and Bian Xi's tears streamed down her face.

Momo felt a sharp pain in her heart, as if someone were tearing it apart. She knew he believed her.

He believed what she said.

Bian Xi immediately reached out to wipe away her tears. Blood mixed with her tears covered her entire face, and the more she wiped, the more it spread. "Momo, I understand. I understand your feelings. I will grant your wish."

"If you are satisfied, I can choose to give up."

Momo's eyes were filled with tears, and she choked up a little, "Thank you, Brother Bian Xi."

Thank you for your understanding.

After saying that, she forcefully held back the tears welling up in her eyes.

Bian Xi just looked at her and smiled, without saying anything more.

Momo paused for a moment, then turned to look at the person behind her.

Fu Yungui leaned against the car, slightly lowering his head and exhaling smoke rings, without even looking at them.

He'll just listen to this sad and mournful play and that's about it.

But I must say, it was quite entertaining; at least, listening to it made him enjoy his cigarette even more.

Momo walked towards him without hesitation and took his hand.

Their fingers were still intertwined, and the two silver rings were so close together for the first time. They looked at each other as if their hearts were also closely connected.

"Fu Yungui, let's leave, okay?"

The girl stared into his eyes with her watery gaze. The man stubbed out his cigarette, smiled at her, and asked, "Huang Momo, were you telling the truth just now?"

The question was pointless, but he asked it anyway.

Momo was taken aback, then nodded at him without hesitation.

"Okay, then I'll take it seriously." Fu Yungui said, reaching out to touch her face with a half-smile.

A warm, large hand covered her face, and Momo's body trembled instantly.

"You can take it seriously, or you can not." The girl lowered her head, her voice returning to its original softness, like a feather brushing against her cheek, light and airy, yet captivating.

"If one day I find out you've been lying, don't blame me for not warning you."

Momo paused for a moment, then nodded.
