Chapter 144 I Admit Defeat
Seeing that she was silent, Aunt Sang didn't say anything more, after all, she had just woken up and her emotions might not be very stable yet.
The doctor came over to examine her again. Her temperature was normal, and her complexion had improved a bit. At least she looked somewhat like a normal person again.
It seems the IV drip did have some effect.
"Ms. Huang, do you still feel any discomfort?" the female doctor asked her.
Momo gently shook her head. Right now, apart from feeling a little tired and exhausted, she didn't feel any major discomfort.
Even the dizziness and blurred vision I felt before falling were greatly reduced.
I guess the doctor must have given her an IV drip earlier; she no longer feels that near-death feeling from hunger.
Seeing her like this, the doctor paused for a moment and breathed a sigh of relief.
Then, speaking to Aunt Sang behind her, she said, "You should eat light meals now. Miss Huang has been hungry for a while, so we'll give her something to eat later. Be careful not to give her too much at once; it's better to give her small, frequent meals."
Aunt Sang immediately nodded, "I understand."
Momo lay there without saying a word. The sunset outside filled the entire sky. She stared at it for a few moments, then heard the sound of a door closing behind her.
The doctor left, and Sang's mother followed him out.
She needed to go downstairs to prepare dinner, and also to cook some light meals for Momo in advance and bring them over, since Momo had been hungry for a long time and she couldn't afford to waste any more time.
Although the doctor gave her intravenous nutrition, it's still not as good for her health as eating normally. If she can eat normally, her body will recover much faster.
After going downstairs to the second floor, Sang Ma didn't see the group of people in the living room, so she didn't pay any more attention to them and went straight to the kitchen at the back.
When Fu Yungui returned from the armory, dark clouds loomed in the west, and the large trees behind him swayed violently in the wind, signaling an impending downpour.
"Brother Yun, I had Anai go to Wenlai's place today too, to keep an eye on Angki." Nar followed the man into the house.
Fu Yungui, with a cigarette dangling from his lips, snorted in response, then extinguished the cigarette and said, "Don't let your guard down with Song Cha either. I think he'll be making a move soon."
Since he assaulted someone in Thailand last time, knowing Songcha as he does, he knows he won't let it go easily, and he won't even bother playing the role of a smiling tiger anymore.
Song Cha is no different from that dead man, Badi; they are both people with no bottom line and love to use dirty tricks.
He didn't care, but unfortunately, he now had a weakness.
Nalton paused for a moment, then replied, "I understand."
The man glanced at Nar, a slight smile playing on his lips, and patted him on the shoulder. "You've all been working hard lately. After this trip, I'll give you two weeks off to rest."
"Thank you, Brother Yun," Nar said politely as always.
The man didn't say anything more, then turned and went upstairs.
On the second-floor veranda, the wind blowing in was even stronger. The man didn't know if the person inside was awake, so he gently pushed open the door.
Momo was sitting in a chair by the window, and after lying down for so long, she was almost tired of it.
The girl was slightly startled when she heard the sound, but she remained seated, watching the howling wind whipping the leaves around and making them sway violently back and forth.
The oppressive scene before the heavy rain actually made the girl feel at ease.
As soon as Fu Yungui opened the door, he saw that figure appear right in front of him. From a distance, the girl's thin figure looked like she might collapse at any moment.
The man glanced again at the food on the table next to him. It was still untouched, but steaming hot, so it must have been brought up by Aunt Sang just now.
He probably can't persuade her again; he really knows Huang Momo's temperament.
Don't be fooled by her gentle and weak appearance, as if she couldn't be crushed by a chick. When she hardens her heart, she can be quite terrifying.
That hard-heartedness of hers was all used on herself.
The man thought for a few more moments, then walked over, stood behind her, gently put his hand on her shoulder, and called out, "Huang Momo."
Momo sat there with a blank expression, her emotions unreadable, but she didn't respond, letting him touch her.
The man turned the girl around to face him, then half-squatted in front of her, staring intently into her eyes.
The girl's eyes were vacant as she looked at him; there wasn't even a hint of hatred in them.
Some viewers were frightened.
"Eat your food properly, okay?" The man's voice was soft and gentle, sounding like he was coaxing a child.
Momo turned her face away, ignoring his burning gaze, as if she hadn't heard him.
Fu Yungui felt a pang of anxiety, but still remained patient. "Huang Momo, your body is already in this state, why do you still want to ruin yourself?"
"How many lives do you have left to keep going like this?"
Although it was out of concern, the words sounded somewhat reproachful.
The girl remained silent, just like yesterday, looking lifeless towards him, as if the man standing in front of her was nothing but air, completely ignoring him.
The man was truly helpless. He reached out and touched her face, then pulled her back into his gaze.
"I give up, okay?"
"As long as you're willing to eat, anything is fine."
The moment she jumped without hesitation, he knew that he had completely lost this silent battle.
He was completely subdued by this stubborn woman.
Whoever is moved first will inevitably soften and surrender first.
The person next to him remained motionless, stunned for a moment, then looked up and stared at him a few times. Momo forced a smile as she looked at him.
Fu Yungui stared at that smile; it was so familiar.
Disdain, almost mockery.
Momo hesitated softly, then stared at him and finally spoke, "Anything is fine, but how about I kill you?"
Upon hearing this, the man froze, and then an indescribable emotion flashed across his face.
These words seemed even more painful than a gleaming knife piercing his heart.
Seeing his silence, Momo couldn't help but laugh. She didn't believe him at all that he would do anything.
Fu Yungui stared at her smile, and couldn't help but smile slightly as well. "Okay."
"As long as you eat your food properly."
Without hesitation, he turned around and took out the sharp knife from the bedside table. The first time they met, he had used this knife to scare her.
Now, she has control of the knife.
The man threw the knife in front of her, then casually pulled out his gun and even thoughtfully loaded it for her.
"I'll give you a choice." Fu Yungui shoved the gun directly into her hand, his eyes filled with determination.
It's better to die at her hands than to set her free.
