Chapter 146 Searching for the Ring in the Rain
Fu Yungui bent over as he weaved through the woods behind the house, rain streaming down his hair.
Soaked to the bone, his shirt revealed the man's muscular chest, but he still looked utterly disheveled.
"Brother Yun." Sha Wa ran to his side with an umbrella, wanting to hold it for him.
She was pushed away by the man.
"Go find it quickly," the man said to the people behind him.
Upon hearing this, they exchanged bewildered glances, unsure of what to look for. After receiving the man's message, they rushed over, thinking he had lost something important, and dared not delay for even a moment.
“Rings, two,” the man added.
"..." The group was taken aback, none of them realizing what kind of ring was so important.
Sawa was the first to understand. He sighed softly and patted the people next to him.
“What else could it be? That silver ring.” He explained in a low voice to the group, “The one that the little girl bought for him in Bangsalai.”
Yun Ge rarely wore jewelry before because he thought those things were girly.
But he treasured the cheap silver ring that the little girl gave him, and never took it off after he bought it that day.
The group immediately realized what was going on.
Night Hawk frowned, somewhat puzzled, and asked, "That ring, Brother Yun always wears it on his hand, how could it suddenly fall off?"
"Besides, it's gone, so what? Just buy another one."
Lately, I'm finding it increasingly difficult to understand these things.
I was there when I bought that silver ring; it only cost 1,000 baht, which wasn't worth much.
Why bother searching in such heavy rain? And Brother Yun looks like he's risking his life.
Even the most invulnerable body couldn't withstand being left out in the rain like that.
Anu glanced at him, shook her head to signal him not to ask any more questions, and then followed the man inside without hesitation.
That ring wasn't expensive, and you could easily buy the same style, or even the exact same one, but its meaning was completely different.
What Brother Yun cares about is not that worthless ring at all.
I wonder what happened between Brother Yun and Huang Momo just now, how did the ring end up here?
This place...
Anu couldn't help but look up; it must have been thrown down from above.
It's obvious who threw it; there's no need to ask.
Anu couldn't help but sigh softly, then quickly walked to the man's side and tried to put the umbrella into his hand.
"Brother Yun, the rain is too heavy. Your body won't be able to take it if you keep getting soaked like this."
The man pushed him away without hesitation, still holding the flashlight and looking down.
Seeing him like this, Anu felt bad too.
He really felt that Brother Yun had completely fallen for him. He had said before that he didn't care whether Huang Momo's heart was with him or not, as long as she was there, that was enough.
But now...
Huang Momo's body is by my side, but her heart is still elsewhere.
But he lost his own heart so quickly.
He had been worried for a long time that Brother Yun would become like this one day, but wasn't this day coming a little too soon?
Losing your heart isn't a big deal, but it's very painful to put that heart into someone who doesn't want to be with you.
Especially since they were in a state of mutual torment.
Yun Ge treated Huang Momo the way he did before, and he never thought that one day he would end up like this. So he went too far back then and didn't leave himself any room for maneuver.
Fu Yungui refused to use an umbrella, so the others got soaked in the rain, their bright flashlights flashing back and forth in the woods.
Sawa looked up at the dark room upstairs and seemed to see a faint figure at the window.
Momo turned off the light and stood in front of the window, staring blankly outside.
The moment she saw Sawa's gaze, she instinctively flinched to the side.
She never expected that Fu Yungui would brave such heavy rain to go down and look for those two pitifully small rings.
Momo hid behind the curtains, turned around and leaned against the wall behind her, then slid down the wall.
She seemed to sense that if this man continued to act this way, he would be even less likely to let her go.
The heavy rain lasted for more than an hour, and the people below searched for more than an hour as well.
The area behind the house was too large, and after the rain, the soil was too wet, so the two small circles wouldn't be easily noticed no matter where they landed.
Fu Yungui reached back and smoothed the rainwater from his hair. His expression remained indifferent, but he seemed to have calmed down.
He spoke to the people behind him, "Nar, go back and get the metal detector."
Nar was taken aback. They hadn't thought of this before, but even if they had, they would have felt it was a waste of talent.
Their metal detectors are used to detect landmines or weapons; using them to find these two small rings is a bit of an overstatement.
But he knew the man was serious.
“Okay.” Nar agreed readily, then walked to the back without hesitation.
This silent battle to find the ring didn't end until almost nine o'clock.
The rings were found as expected. After throwing both down, they bounced off one side and sank deep into the mud.
Sawa felt like he could barely straighten his back, but he was still quite relieved.
Thankfully, the ring has been found.
Otherwise, even if we have to search until 9 a.m. tomorrow, we will still search.
That man will not give up until he finds him.
Fu Yungui held the two rings covered in mud tightly in his palm, then walked towards the house without hesitation.
Sawa and the others went back as well.
On the second floor, Momo was already in bed. She had been standing there the whole time and had seen him find the two rings.
Even if he finds it, she won't wear it anymore.
No matter how hard he tried to force it, he would never put it between his fingers again.
As she was thinking this, she heard footsteps getting closer and closer, neither hurried nor slow.
Momo closed her eyes; it must be Fu Yungui coming up.
She didn't know if what awaited her was still an endless punishment.
But it doesn't matter anymore.
She's used to it by now, hasn't she?
I don't care about this once or twice.
In less than half a second, the man pushed the door open and came in. The room was dark, but the light from the living room outside shone on the man's figure at the door, revealing his tall back.
The figure simply stood at the doorway, almost blocking all the light that could shine into the living room.
Water was still dripping from the man's body.
Momo opened her eyes and looked around, but the figure had disappeared through the doorway again.
