Chapter 168 Attack

Chapter 168 Attack

"They've already left, haven't they?" Momo asked again, still worried.

"Yes," Mao Mao replied, then prepared to go downstairs.

Momo was slightly disappointed, but quickly recovered.

She knew that Bian Xi couldn't save her under these circumstances.

"You rest, I'm going to find Anai," Mao Mao said to her.

He had just paged him through his earpiece, but there was no response. He was a little worried.

"I'll go with you." Momo immediately followed, now even more afraid to stay here alone.

"Okay." Mao Mao didn't refuse again.

The two quickly went downstairs.

Mao Mao tried to contact them through the earpiece for a long time, but there was still no response.

"Something must have happened to Anai," Mao Mao said with a stern face.

Momo's heart skipped a beat as she listened. Although she had felt a little uncomfortable because of Anai's sabotage, she didn't want anything to happen to him.

"Should we get the others to help with the search?" Momo said anxiously.

This place is so vast that it would probably take the two of them until the sun rises to find the person.

If something really happened to Anai, it would have delayed the best time for rescue.

"OK."

After sending the notification, Mao Mao then sent a message to Fu Yungui to report the situation.

Wenlai and his group deliberately took a detour back via a side road. After returning home, he called Bian Xi's family doctor to come and treat him.

Fortunately, no bones were damaged; the bullet only pierced the muscle of the calf. After treatment and bandaging, it just needs to rest for a while.

“Angki, even though you’re injured, you still can’t rest for the next few days.”

Wenlai sat in the chair and spoke to him in a relatively gentle tone, with a touch of concern befitting an elder.

“I understand,” Ongki replied.

"Yes, we'll have to work hard for a few more days. After making such a big commotion, Fu Yungui will definitely come back as soon as possible, and the situation may change by then."

"Once this period is over, you'll get a good rest."

Wenlai spoke with a somber expression, vaguely worried about what might happen next.

That's just how he is; after doing something bad, he immediately feels regret and worry. He lacks the decisiveness and fearlessness needed to do anything significant.

"Okay, but the situation shouldn't be that bad. We cleaned it up fairly well, so no one should be able to recognize us."

"It was so dark, and we were wearing hoods, so all they'll remember is our clothes."

Although Ongi said this, he couldn't help but start to worry.

He was wearing a mask just now, but he took it off for a minute under the monitor so that Momo could see his face clearly.

I wonder if the guy who shot me saw my face back then.

"Okay," Wenlai responded. "You can rest here tonight."

"good."

"Angki." He had just stood up to leave when he was called back. Angki immediately turned around and looked back. "Is there anything else, Godfather?"

Wenlai smiled and said, "Angji, don't be disappointed or overthink it if you didn't manage to rescue that girl this time. After all, Fu Yungui is a tough person to deal with."

"It's never easy to snatch a woman from him."

"Mm," Angki responded.

“As long as we get rid of Fu Yungui, not only will we have a market, but you and that girl can also live a stable life. Otherwise, as long as he is alive, even if you bring that girl out, your lives will not be stable.”

"He won't let you have an easy life."

Wenlai spoke with such earnestness and concern, as if she were genuinely looking out for him.

“I know,” Ongi replied, a slight smile on his face.

He certainly understood this principle: only one of him and Fu Yungui could survive.

Of course, he wasn't oblivious to Wenlai's scheme of using someone else to do his dirty work.

However, they were simply using each other.

Without Wenlai's help, he alone had no way to contend with Fu Yungui.

Now that the two have joined forces, as long as they can eliminate him, they can both achieve their desired goals.

"You know what you're doing." Wenlai smiled. "Once I'm done with Fu Yungui, I'll hand over all the business to you and retire to enjoy life. Let you young people work hard."

Angki chuckled at these words, but didn't take them to heart at all.

Having rescued Momo, all he wanted was to take her back.

Or they could find a suitable place to settle down, where no one knows them, and start a new life.

"Then I'll go down first," Angki said.

"Okay." Wenlai nodded.

The sky was already slightly bright, and Wenlai lay on a chair in the room, closing her eyes and concentrating.

Suddenly, two loud explosions came from behind, one after the other, and half of the entire villa was blown up.

The alarm blared throughout the courtyard in an instant. Wenlai got up from his chair and went outside, but the trees were too dense for him to see what was behind him.

Following the two explosions, a barrage of gunfire erupted, and people in the corridor ahead were shouting, "An attack!"

Upon hearing this, Wenlai immediately pulled out his gun and ran to the back.

Why would someone attack his villa area out of the blue?

not good.

Wenlai suddenly thought of something, froze, and immediately turned to run back.

They ran to his basement, a place specifically built for self-defense. The basement was very deep and hidden, and it was bulletproof and explosion-proof.

As soon as Wenlai ran to the courtyard, a roaring sound came from above.

Two armed helicopters hovered above the villa, completely surrounding the house.

Nar, dressed in a black combat suit, descended from the helicopter's rope with one hand, followed by Nighthawk and Anu.

After landing, the group rushed into the house with submachine guns, where the sounds of fierce fighting between the two sides soon filled the air.

The three of them quickly dealt with the firefighters inside the house, and then systematically searched the interior.

Soon, Nar's cold voice came through the military communication headset: "Nar has entered the first floor, no target found."

The man sat in the helicopter, leaning against the cabin door, aiming his M16 at a certain spot of the villa below.

"The family of Target Number One has been found on the second floor. Please provide instructions." The voice came through the earpiece; it was Anu.

Target number one refers to Wenlai, and target number two is Angki.

"Ignore them." A man's voice came from the communications station. "They're all useless."

He knew Wenlai too well; he was weak and ruthless. Even if he threatened him with his wife and children, it wouldn't have any effect at all.

He only cares about himself; no one else is of any use to him.

“Anu received.”
