Chapter 285 The Mysterious Man
The two arrived at the temple in about half an hour.
Suhe didn't want her to be reminded of the past; the longer she stayed there, the more their emotions would be affected.
So they let her stay there and chat with her father for about ten minutes, then made an excuse to send her out.
For the rest of the time, she stayed by Huang Sanlin's ashes alone.
After Momo went out, it got a little darker, but it was still a while before it got completely dark.
Mom said she needed to have a private talk with Dad, so she obediently listened and didn't disturb them.
But in a corner unseen by Su He, the girl's eyes still couldn't hold back, and they became slightly moist.
She leaned against a pillar under the tree, lowered her eyes slightly, and tried to calm her downcast mood.
Just then, her phone, which was in her bag, rang.
Momo reached for it and saw the caller ID. The corners of the girl's eyes involuntarily turned up, and her heart skipped a beat.
She answered immediately, asking first, "Have you already gone back?"
"Hmm, where are you?" A familiar, languid voice asked.
With just one sentence, the key point was captured.
"I'm at the temple, and I came with my mom to visit my dad."
"Okay, then I'll come pick you up."
"No need, we'll be going back soon," the girl said, turning around to look inside.
Su He stood there with her back to her, her figure thin and frail, making one's heart ache.
"Sweetie, we're coming right away."
"Alright then." Seeing his insistence, the girl didn't say anything more.
"Okay, I'll hang up now," the man hummed lazily.
"Okay." Momo obediently listened and then hung up the phone.
About ten minutes later, the sky had become much darker than before. The girl remained obediently leaning against the tree, then raised her gaze to look inside.
The dim light shone on the girl's face, making her delicate features appear even softer.
After a short while, Su He lowered her eyes slightly and slowly walked out from inside.
As soon as I stepped out the door, I adjusted my mood the moment I looked up, and my face was full of smiles.
Momo, whose gaze had been following her mother, felt a slight stirring in her heart the moment their eyes met.
She immediately stood up and walked over there, but she didn't say anything more.
Just pretend you didn't see anything.
She respected her mother's strength, even knowing that inside, especially in front of her father, she would never have appeared so resilient.
But even when Dad was still alive, Mom, who seemed gentle and weak, was always the bravest person in the family.
"Momo, let's go back."
Su He walked over to her and touched her arm.
"Mom, Fu Yungui just called and said he's coming to pick us up."
The girl's voice was gentle and soft, sounding extremely well-behaved.
"So, we might need to wait here for a while."
As soon as Momo finished speaking, the black Bentley came to a smooth stop at the door.
The girl stared at him as he got out of the car, somewhat surprised. It would take at least twenty minutes to get here from her home, so how did he get here so quickly?
The man walked towards her in a few steps, greeted Su He politely, and then fixed his gaze on the girl's face.
"Did you come from home?" the girl asked him with a smile.
Although I asked the question, I already had the answer in my heart.
The man raised an eyebrow and smiled. "Of course not, I'm just on my way back."
"Okay." Momo pursed her lips.
Fu Yungui glanced at her, then turned his gaze back. "Aunt Su, I'll have Anu take you home. I'm taking Momo out for a bit."
Momo was taken aback, and subconsciously asked seriously, "Is something the matter?"
The man smiled, ruffled her hair, and said nothing.
Momo glanced at him curiously, then followed his gaze and looked back slightly. She saw her mother smile and say, "No problem."
After Anu drove Suho away, the girl followed the man, full of curiosity.
Throughout the journey, the man in the driver's seat focused on driving, and she sat beside him without asking any more questions, simply watching the scenery flash by outside to pass the time.
Even if she asked, the man wouldn't tell her.
If you wanted to say something, you already did at the temple.
She had no idea what they were going to do, all this acting so mysteriously.
We've almost finished everything for today.
Logically speaking, there shouldn't be anything important happening right now.
With that thought in mind, the girl stopped thinking about it.
After a long day, Momo felt sleepy soon after getting into the car. Her blinking eyes struggled to stay open, opening and closing briefly before opening again.
It was a traffic light, and the man turned his head to look at her. He saw her head drooping, nodding repeatedly, like a little monk ringing a bell, and he couldn't help but chuckle.
"Huang Momo," the man called out.
"Hmm?" The girl suddenly heard the sound, sat up straight, looked up, and responded.
The voice was soft and gentle, with a hint of languid weariness, making one's heart itch.
"If you're sleepy, go to sleep. Why force yourself to stay awake?"
Momo paused upon hearing this, then instinctively asked, "Is it still a long way from here?"
"Um."
Upon hearing this, the girl's tense nerves immediately relaxed, and she obediently responded.
"good."
"Then call me when you're almost there." She reminded him before closing her eyes.
"Okay, go to sleep." The man responded, then casually patted her hair.
Not long after receiving a response, Momo drowsily leaned towards the window.
Fu Yungui glanced at her, then curled his lips into a smile. The girl leaned there obediently, her slender white hands supporting her face, sleeping soundly.
We drove for about an hour and a half until the sun completely disappeared in the west and night completely enveloped the earth.
The man then carefully parked the car in front of the hotel.
As soon as the car was turned off, before Fu Yungui could even turn his head, he felt the girl next to him move slightly.
The man rested one hand on the steering wheel, his fingers tapping absentmindedly, then tilted his head to look at her.
The girl was half-awake and still a little dazed. She rubbed her eyes and then subconsciously looked to the side.
"Have we arrived?"
The girl's voice was soft and gentle, and the red mark on her face, pressed against the window, was still clearly visible.
The man rested his chin on his hand, looked at her, and raised an eyebrow. "We're here."
"But if you still want to sleep, you can take a nap before going up again."
Upon hearing this, Momo paused for a moment, then looked up and gazed outside.
At the same time, the car window slowly rolled down.
