Chapter 43 Hurry up and get married
"He didn't hurt you, did he?" Bian Xi asked with some concern.
Momo pursed her lips and shook her head. "He's not too bad, and he didn't really hurt me. When Qiqi and I were kidnapped in Thailand, he was the one who saved me."
"Kidnapping?" Bian Xi was shocked upon hearing this.
Momo nodded. "Yes, it was an accident, but my parents don't know about it. Please don't tell them. Although it was very dangerous and I almost didn't make it back, it's all in the past now."
"Okay, I understand." Bian Xi held her hand tightly, lost in thought.
Anu's car drove westward into the suburbs. Under the moonlight, the dappled shadows of tree branches were cast on the roadside. After the black Bentley drove around for more than ten minutes, the detached villa came into view.
The villa stood alone on the riverbank, shrouded in endless darkness.
This is one of several houses owned by his mother, Fu Ying, in China. To be precise, it belonged to Fu Ying's parents. After their deaths, the property was inherited by Fu Yungui.
Fu Ying brought him back once when he was three years old, but those distant memories are now blurred. He has almost no recollection of this place.
The surrounding weeds were already quite tall, so Anu parked the car directly on the road, got out first, and led the way with his laptop bag.
Sawa followed behind, and somehow found a long wooden stick. He tapped and thrashed it in the weeds before continuing on his way.
Fu Yungui followed behind, watching him cautiously probe the path with that stick in his hand, while waving a gun around in his other hand, looking just like a Japanese soldier entering a village.
He couldn't stand it anymore and kicked him, saying, "Can't you be a decent man with some self-respect?"
Sawa immediately turned around, a sly smile on his lips, "Brother Yun, you don't know, I'm not afraid of anything, except snakes. Those things are really disgusting, slippery and poisonous. If you step on one, it's even more disgusting than touching a transvestite's breasts. I'll have nightmares for days."
"It seems that it was a waste of your talent to have you dance last time. You should have had Anu get two of them to hang around your neck for fun," Fu Yungui said with a light laugh.
"You can't play like this, boss." Shava was practically in tears; he felt like he'd dug himself up and buried himself in the ground.
If you're not careful, you'll expose your weaknesses, and who knows how he'll bully you in the future.
Fu Yungui walked past him with his hands in his pockets, his voice carrying lightly to the back.
"I see that you've come to China, and not only are your hands and feet frozen, but your brain is frozen too. Where would you find snakes in winter?"
"Brother Yun, you think too highly of him. Where did he get such a brain?" Anu added.
Shava was taken aback. He only heard that there were no more snakes, completely ignoring Anu's taunts, and immediately straightened up.
Yes, snakes definitely hibernate. It seems he's been in Thailand for too long and is still adjusting to the changing seasons here.
He immediately dropped the wooden stick, put away his gun, and walked straight ahead quickly.
Fu Yungui entered his fingerprint, and the villa door opened automatically, instantly illuminating the entire building with lights.
The villa exudes a sense of antiquity and history. The house is quite secluded and secure; no strangers are allowed near, let alone regular cleaning or maintenance. Therefore, from the outside, it looks like a dilapidated and abandoned dwelling.
"Brother Yun, let me tidy up this place up a bit." Anu rolled up his sleeves, ready to get to work.
Because it was completely sealed, apart from a slightly stuffy smell, there was very little dust inside. Everything else remained exactly as it was when the deceased left.
Fu Yungui nodded slightly, then walked around the marble pillar to the back.
Anu knew that he didn't care about the living environment. Although the eldest brother was extremely clean, his adaptability was abnormal.
Even if you let him sleep in a messy snake pit, he'd probably find a way to make himself happy.
The moon had already set in the west. Bian Xi escorted Momo to her doorstep. The dim yellow light from the porch lamp illuminated their faces, and he still held her hand tightly, unwilling to let go.
Momo let him pull her along, then turned to face him. "Brother Bian Xi, I felt that your brows hadn't relaxed the whole way. You can tell me what's on your mind. After all, we shouldn't be suspicious of each other. It's better to talk things out."
"Momo, I've thought about a lot of things along the way, and I don't know why, but I suddenly feel a sense of crisis," Bian Xi said tactfully.
But Momo still understood. They had been dating for months, and he had never mentioned that word to her before. But today, Fu Yungui's appearance suddenly made this usually proud man lose his confidence.
"You know, the one I've always loved is you, and it's never anyone else," Momo said sincerely to him.
“I wasn’t talking about you, of course I know you.” Bian Xi said, giving her a slight smile.
"So you're worried that Fu Yungui will ruin our relationship?" Momo asked tentatively.
“I do have concerns about that.” Bian Xi paused and then continued, “Of course, it might be more than that, but I can’t say for sure right now.”
"So I've been thinking about it, how about we hurry up and get married?"
"I'll feel safer if we make our relationship legal as soon as possible."
Momo was slightly taken aback by his words. Although she had long imagined what it would be like for the two of them to walk down the aisle, they had only been together for a few short months. Was it a bit too hasty to consider them as a future partner?
Seeing that she was hanging her head and not speaking, Bian Xi knew that she was hesitating, so he quickly spoke again: "Momo, this may be a little sudden for you, but think about it, we will definitely get married in the end, so why not bring it up sooner?"
"Anyway, we've known each other for more than a year or two, and we're already quite familiar with each other."
"Getting married early can prevent any unforeseen complications."
Momo looked up at him, then lowered her eyes again. "To be honest, Brother Bian Xi, what you said is a bit sudden, but that doesn't mean I'm unwilling. I just need to think it over carefully. After all, marriage is not a trivial matter."
Bian Xi reached out and stroked her hair. Because of the event tonight, she had styled her hair a little, so it didn't feel as soft as before.
“Of course, I’m just asking for your opinion first, since your thoughts are the most important,” Bian Xi said.
"Alright, let me think about it and give you an answer as soon as possible." Momo gazed into his eyes.
"Okay, I'll wait for your message." Bian Xi said, letting go of her hand and smiling. "Then you should go in and rest. It's already late. If you don't sleep soon, it will affect your pretty face."
