Whether I'm happy to know you, Chapter 42, is hard to say now.
"However, my daughter is still a bit childish, so please excuse her."
Fu Yungui listened and nodded slowly, indicating that he understood. Then, he lowered his gaze slightly, bent down to take a wine glass, and took a small sip.
Bian Xi had of course noticed the man in front of him. In fact, he had seen him as soon as he entered the room, since his natural aura seemed completely out of place in the room.
As a man, I instinctively knew that even though he appeared quite gentle and polite, the innate indifference and aloofness on his face couldn't be hidden.
This man possessed a maturity beyond his years, yet his exceptionally handsome face also exuded a youthful charm.
Seeing two opposing feelings in one person does indeed seem like a contradictory illusion.
“Bian Xi, this is Mr. Fu, who invested in my film.” Huang Sanlin quickly reminded him when he saw him standing there.
Upon hearing this, Bian Xi hurried over, smiled, and reached out to greet him, "Mr. Fu, it's a pleasure to meet you. I look forward to your guidance in the future."
Fu Yungui stared intently at the ring on his finger, then smiled and looked up at him, reaching out to touch it.
"It's only the first time we've met, so whether I'm happy to meet you or not is hard to say right now."
Everyone was stunned upon hearing this and exchanged glances. Although the two were smiling amicably, there was an underlying tension between them.
Xiaolin didn't know what was going on either, but all he could do was quickly try to smooth things over.
He coughed and chuckled awkwardly, "Mr. Fu is quite the joker, but this is probably dark humor. Look, none of us reacted at first."
Fu Yungui smiled without saying a word and withdrew his hand.
"Oh, it was just a joke." Huang Sanlin laughed along.
Momo, hiding behind, knew that this was no joke; he wasn't the type to joke with others casually.
She had a vague sense of unease.
Aside from Momo, Bian Xi was probably one of only two people present who trusted him. This man was full of hostility towards him, which was subtly contained in his words and eyes and lingered for a long time.
Bian Xi was puzzled. They had never met before, so why would he have such a strong reaction to him on their first meeting?
He was somewhat unpredictable.
It was almost ten o'clock, and the full moon had already climbed high in the sky, while the dinner party inside had just ended.
Fu Yungui was still surrounded by a group of people as he came out. Huang Sanlin followed closely beside him. "Mr. Fu, we have arranged a room for you at the Junlin Hotel. We're sorry to trouble you to rest there for a few nights."
“No need to trouble yourself, Mr. Huang, we have our own accommodations.” Fu Yungui’s refusal was decisive and straightforward.
Huang Sanlin thought the other party was just being polite, so he quickly said, "How could that be? You've come all this way, it's only right that we entertain you. As long as you don't mind."
"Really, it's not necessary. I have a home here, and I'll be staying here for a while anyway, so I can't keep bothering you."
When Momo heard him say this, she immediately had a bad feeling and involuntarily tightened her grip on Bian Xi's hand.
Is he going to stay here for a while longer? How long?
Bian Xi's attention was completely focused on Fu Yungui at that moment, and she was completely unaware of the strange reaction from the person next to her.
"Alright, alright." Hearing him say that, Huang Sanlin didn't insist anymore and saw him into the car.
Anu took the driver's seat again, while Sawa sat obediently beside him.
After Huang Sanlin watched him go in, he bent down to close the car door, and the person inside rolled down the window and looked up at the outside.
The two standing at the outermost edge of the crowd were still holding hands tightly. Bian Xi's gaze remained fixed on the people inside the car, while the girl beside him...
At this moment, he was hanging his head, lost in thought, and it was impossible to know what he was thinking.
The man immediately looked away, hurriedly said goodbye to Huang Sanlin, and then gestured for Anu to close the car window.
"Mr. Fu, take care." Huang Sanlin waved to the people inside, and Fu Yungui nodded slightly in response.
Anu started the car, and as it turned onto the main road, it passed by Momo and Bianxi. Suddenly, Sawa smiled and spoke to the people outside.
"Miss Momo, it's a pleasure to meet you again. I hope we can meet again next time."
Looking at his smile, Momo's heart tightened, and all the blood in her body seemed to rush to her head, leaving her feeling completely dazed.
She knew that Shava was calling her that on purpose. He wanted Bian Xi, who had just missed the truth, to know that they knew each other before, so that she wouldn't have the chance to hide anything.
Sure enough, when Bian Xi heard Sha Wa say this, his first reaction was that Momo and they knew each other before. As for how they knew each other, he would have to ask the parties involved to find out.
Momo could tell from the questioning look in his eyes that he was waiting for her to explain everything.
She hadn't originally intended to hide anything from him, but there's a fundamental difference between being forced to explain something and explaining it voluntarily.
So she feels like she's trying to argue with him. But none of the things that happened with Fu Yungui in Thailand were her fault; she was also a victim.
However, if she told Bian Xi everything, he would definitely overthink it. The whole thing would become complicated.
Momo hesitated.
“I knew them before. Mr. Fu is Fu Qiyu’s uncle. I met him in Thailand.”
The man was taken aback, then paused for a moment before asking, "Who is Fu Qiyu?"
Momo forgot that he didn't know Qiqi, and immediately followed up with an explanation, "She was my best friend during college. She's Thai and got married recently. I went to Thailand for her wedding."
"So that's how you met Mr. Fu?" Bian Xi asked again.
Momo nodded, "Yes."
No wonder.
Bian Xi responded, but he had a vague feeling that things were not as simple as she made them out to be, at least not as simple as just knowing each other.
A man's intuition tells him that what can cause hostility between two men is mostly a woman.
As Bian Xi thought this, she glanced at the person next to her and suddenly felt a little nervous.
He had a bad feeling.
"Momo, you're not hiding anything from me, are you?" he asked again.
Momo was taken aback, unsure how to answer him for a moment. After a few seconds, she decided to tell him everything that had happened in Thailand to avoid him overthinking or making things more complicated.
“Brother Bian Xi, when I was in Thailand, I accidentally saw him flirting with a woman, and that offended him. Since then, he has been retaliating against me.”
She felt wronged whenever she thought about those experiences.
