Chapter 346 Two Little Kids Want to Escape

Du Wanchun helped her up and said, "Sister Wu, get up quickly. In the future, you will be the Queen of the Northern Di Kingdom. When we see you, we should pay our respects."

Madam Wu's eyes reddened, and she laughed, "What queen? In the future, no matter what our status is, we will always be your Sister Wu and Brother Wei."

Du Wanchun smiled and nodded.

Zhou Ruiyuan then continued, "Wei Xun probably still has things to take care of, and he will come to pick up Madam Wu and the child in about three months."

Upon hearing this, the smile on Wu Niangzi's face slowly disappeared.

Just then, Xiao Qing'er, who had just woken up, came out of the house. He was still rubbing his eyes, but when he heard that they were going to take him back, he immediately opened his eyes wide and ran to Madam Wu with his little feet, asking, "Mother, who is taking us away? Where are we going?"

Du Wanchun squatted down, took his little hand and said, "Your father is coming to take you and your mother home."

Little Qing'er asked, confused and bewildered, "Isn't this my home?"

Nan Fengling bent down and patted Xiao Qing'er's head, saying, "Qing'er, be good. This is your home."

No one explained it clearly to Xiao Qing'er, leaving her completely confused.

These children, though only two or three years old, are much more clever than other children.

A few days later, Xiao Qing'er understood what was going on. It turned out that her father was going to take her and her mother away from here.

He didn't want to leave this place; he couldn't bear to part with anything here, especially Xiao Mianmian.

One afternoon, Du Wanchun and Zhou Ruiyuan went to Cheng'an County to prepare for opening a rice shop in Yangcheng.

The Third Prince and Granny Zhou went to the estate.

Wu Niangzi and Nan Fengling remained.

There are also Zhou Feng and Han Yan'er.

Han Yan'er stayed inside taking care of Zhou Feng.

Wu Niangzi and Nan Fengling were then responsible for taking care of the four little children in the house.

It is currently afternoon.

After putting Xiao Mianmian and Xiao Qing'er to sleep, Madam Wu placed them on the bed in the inner room and then sewed clothes for everyone in the front room.

Yi'er and Yu'er were very well-behaved and sensible. The two of them sat in the room helping Madam Wu pull the thread.

Inside the back room.

Xiao Qing'er, who had been sleeping with his eyes closed, suddenly opened them. He sat up and asked Xiao Mianmian, "Mianmian, I'm leaving."

Little Mianmian sat up and rubbed her watery eyes. "Brother Qing'er, where are you going?"

Xiao Qing'er lowered her head, her soft voice filled with grievance, "I want to go home, back to my own home, but I can't bear to leave you."

Little Mianmian's eyes immediately reddened, and she lowered her head, saying, "I can't bear to part with you either."

Xiao Qing'er sat on the edge of the bed, and suddenly had a bright idea. She said, "Mianmian, why don't we go?"

"Where are we going?" Little Mianmian asked him, her big eyes wide with confusion.

After thinking for a moment, Xiao Qing'er said, "Let's go to the county town. I'll buy you candied hawthorns."

When Xiao Mianmian heard that there would be candied hawthorns to eat, she nodded happily.

Xiao Qing'er took her hand and slowly got off the bed. Then the two of them sneaked out through the back door.

They were both young, but very clever.

In particular, Xiao Mianmian looks much smarter than ordinary children.

The two of them waited in the withered grass by the roadside, waiting for someone to pass by in a carriage, and then they would sneak up into that person's carriage.

When Madam Wu entered the house and discovered that the two children were missing, Xiao Mianmian and Xiao Qing'er had already arrived in Cheng'an County.

In order to avoid encountering Du Wanchun, they specifically chose a long street without Zhou's shop.

Xiao Qing'er spotted the candied hawthorns by the roadside at a glance. He pulled Xiao Mianmian and ran over, saying, "Come on, there are candied hawthorns over there."

Little Mianmian smiled and followed along.

The two little rascals took out their copper coins and bought two candied hawthorns, then found a secluded spot to sit and eat them.

"Brother Qing'er, do you think my mother and your mother will be worried now that we're out?" Little Mianmian ate two candied hawthorns, puffing out her cheeks.

Xiao Qing'er shook her head, took a bite of the candied hawthorn and looked ahead, "When I left, I left a note for my mother."

"A note? Brother Qing'er, you can write now?" Little Mianmian looked up at him with her eyes narrowed and a look of admiration on her face.

Xiao Qing'er shook her head again, looking ahead with a serious expression, "I can't write."

"Then what did you leave behind?" Little Mianmian asked innocently, her eyes wide open.
