Chapter 347 Little Mianmian Gets Robbed of Her Silver
Xiao Qing'er paused for a moment, then looked in the direction of Changliu Village. "I drew a picture."
Inside Changliu Village, Madam Wu stared at the painting in her hand for a long time, asking, "What is Qing'er painting?"
Nan Fengling walked over, took it from her hand, and said, "Sister Wu, let me take a look."
Wu Niangzi handed her the painting.
Nan Fengling held it in her hand and looked at it carefully. She saw that it depicted skewers of candied hawthorn and a big hand holding a little hand. The drawing was crooked and messy, so it was not easily recognizable at first glance.
She quickly said, "Sister Wu, I think the two of them went to Cheng'an County."
Madam Wu looked at the painting. "How did you know they went to Cheng'an County?"
Nan Fengling pointed to the candied hawthorn skewers and said, "Isn't this candied hawthorn? They must have gone to Cheng'an County to buy candied hawthorn."
Madam Wu looked in the direction she was pointing and quickly said, "Miss Nanfeng, please wait at home. I will inform Wanchun about this matter in Cheng'an County."
Nan Fengling is currently pregnant and it is inconvenient for her to go out. After thinking for a moment, she replied, "Yes, Sister Wu, you go ahead. I'll be at home helping to look after Yi'er and Yu'er."
Madam Wu nodded and said, "Okay, I'll go to Cheng'an County now."
After she finished speaking, she hurriedly left the house, got into a carriage, and headed towards Cheng'an County.
After Xiao Qing'er and Xiao Mianmian finished eating their candied hawthorns, they were just about to leave for the pastry shop when they were accidentally blocked by the two children.
The two children were dressed in tattered clothes; one was a little girl, and the other was a little boy, both looking about five or six years old.
They stopped Xiao Mianmian and her companion, hands on their hips, and said in a fierce manner, "You two, leave the silver behind."
Little Mianmian said earnestly, "We don't have any money."
The little girl didn't believe her and said sternly, "I saw you two buy candied hawthorns."
Little Mianmian looked down at her money bag and said, "I have no silver, I only have copper coins."
The little girl was overjoyed, "Even a copper coin will do."
Little Mianmian looked up at them and said seriously, "My mother said there are many ways to earn money, but you can't steal or rob."
She was young, but her soft, sweet voice carried a sense of composure.
The little girl blushed with guilt and then burst into tears, "We didn't want to steal or rob, but my mother is going to die."
The little boy took the money bag from the little girl, then slowly walked up to Xiaomianmian and handed the money bag to her, saying, "Here, take this back."
After saying that, he took his sister's arm and started to leave.
The little girl cried even harder, "Brother, without money we can't buy medicine for Mother, and she'll die if she doesn't take her medicine."
The little boy paused upon hearing this, then turned to look at Xiaomianmian.
Little Mianmian carefully put the money pouch in her arms, then looked up and smiled, "Stealing and robbing money is indeed wrong, but I know how to treat illnesses."
The little boy paused, his eyes filled with confusion.
This little brat actually claims he can diagnose illnesses.
Xiao Qing'er, standing to the side, tugged at Xiao Mianmian's sleeve, "Mianmian, let's go."
Little Mianmian lowered her head and whispered, "Uncle Xu said that studying medicine is for treating people. Look, they said their mother is sick..."
Xiao Qing'er hesitated for a moment, then shielded Xiao Mianmian behind her. Like a little adult, she said to the two siblings in front of her, "My little sister does know how to treat illnesses, but we can take you to our mother."
The little girl immediately stopped crying, her face instantly filled with hope, "Really?"
Little Mianmian poked her head out and said with a smile, "You two take us to Zhou's Rice Shop and tell them that we accidentally got lost and that you helped us find our way home and brought us back. My mother will thank you."
Upon hearing this, Xiao Qing'er quickly turned around to look at the little dumpling behind her.
Little Mianmian narrowed her eyes, turning her grape-like eyes into crescent moons. "Brother Qing'er, am I right?"
Xiao Qing'er nodded.
The two siblings were so eager to save their mother that they actually listened to the two little children and sent them to Zhou's rice shop.
At this moment, inside the rice shop, Madam Wu had just gotten off the carriage. "Wanchun, something terrible has happened! My Qing'er has secretly taken your little Mianmian to Cheng'an County."
