Chapter 56 Either a Scoundrel or a Thief
Upon hearing this, Liu Lanzhi's face darkened, and her hand holding the chopsticks froze.
She used to be able to argue back, but ever since Madam Li reprimanded her, she has never dared to say another word.
Madam Li took a sip of soup and replied to Young Master Li, "In a few days, you can just carry her in through the back door."
Young Master Li was overjoyed to hear this, "Thank you, Mother."
Madam Li waved her hand, "You're already married, so don't go around having affairs anymore. This is the last time."
Young Master Li stood up, his chubby face beaming with a smile that narrowed his eyes into slits. "Mother, I understand."
After he finished speaking, he wiped his mouth, turned around, and left.
Liu Lanzhi stood there, stunned, and stopped picking up food.
Madam Li glanced at her and said that her deadpan face was disgusting, and told her to get out of there quickly.
Liu Lanzhi put down her chopsticks and hurriedly chased after Young Master Li.
"Husband, where are you going?"
Young Master Li glanced at her and said, "Where I go is none of your business."
With red eyes, Liu Lanzhi held his hand and said aggrievedly, "Husband, we are husband and wife, you can't treat me like this!"
Young Master Li said angrily, "What do you mean by 'husband and wife'? This marriage was ruined because of your mother's interference. Otherwise, I would already be at home making out with my wife!"
Liu Lanzhi was taken aback, bit her lip, and looked up, saying, "Husband, have you taken a fancy to my stepsister?"
Young Master Li was in a hurry to leave, but after hearing what she said, he turned back and said, "You can't say that. What do you mean I've taken a liking to her? She was the one who was supposed to marry me. Can't I just like my own wife?"
Liu Lanzhi gritted her teeth and said, "Husband, that Zhou family son has a crippled leg, and my stepsister probably hasn't consummated her marriage with him yet, so you still have a chance."
Young Master Li found this intriguing and asked, "What opportunity?"

Liu Lanzhi quickly said, "How can you call it abducting a woman? You just said that she was originally going to marry you."
Young Master Li thought it made some sense, and after hesitating for a moment, he said, "It's just that this matter is a bit difficult."
Liu Lanzhi glanced around and whispered, "I'll help you."
"Oh? You'll help me? How will you help me?" Young Master Li looked at her in confusion.
Liu Lanzhi lowered her voice and whispered a few words in his ear.
Young Master Li's eyes lit up as he listened, and he asked with a smile, "Will this method work?"
Liu Lanzhi said confidently, "When the time comes, even if things don't work out, they will."
Young Master Li squinted, pondered for a moment, then clapped his hands and said, "Alright, I'll do as you say."
Seeing that he agreed, Liu Lanzhi quickly said, "Husband, if this matter is accomplished, I can ask you for a favor?"
Young Master Li asked, "What is it?"
Liu Lanzhi hesitated for a moment, then said with a sob in her voice, "Husband, could you please be kinder to me and stop my parents from bullying me?"
Young Master Li waved his hand and laughed, "I thought it was something serious. Don't worry, as long as you can help me get Du Wanchun in here, I promise I won't let my parents bully you anymore!"
Liu Lanzhi was very satisfied with what she heard, and began to fantasize about the days when she would be a tyrant in the Li family mansion.
However, she was unaware that her misfortune was about to begin.
The next day.
As soon as Du Wanchun got up, she followed Aunt Zhou up the mountain again.
They picked a lot of mint leaves on the mountain, and it was noon when they got home.
As soon as they got home, they saw the servant from the Li family.
"Who's there?!" Du Wanchun stepped forward and called out to him.
The servant bowed and asked, "Are you Miss Du Wanchun?"
Du Wanchun nodded. "I am, and you are?"
The servant replied, "I am a servant of the Li family. Our young mistress sent us to deliver a message, requesting that you come to the Li residence."
"To the Li residence?" Du Wanchun wondered. She and Liu Lanzhi had always been at odds. Why would Liu Lanzhi invite her to the Li residence?
The servant replied, "The eldest young mistress said that out of consideration for the sisterly bond between the two, she would like to invite Miss Du to the mansion for a get-together."
Without even thinking, Du Wanchun refused, saying, "You tell your eldest daughter-in-law that we have no sisterly affection for each other and there's no need for us to get together."
The servant hesitated for a moment, then said somewhat embarrassedly, "The young mistress insisted that I invite you over."
Du Wanchun walked straight past him into the house and said seriously, "Even if she comes in person today, I'm not going back. You can leave now!"
"Du..." The servant was about to say something when Aunt Zhou interrupted him, saying, "Just leave when I tell you to. If you say another word, I'll start kicking you out."
Upon hearing this, the servant quickly lowered his head and said, "Yes, Auntie."
After saying that, he turned and left with a helpless expression.
Du Wanchun followed Aunt Zhou into the house.
Aunt Zhou quickly closed the door and said, "Wanchun, be careful. Something's wrong with your stepsister. Last time I saw her, she looked like she hated you to the core. Now she's suddenly coming to talk about sisterly affection. She must have ulterior motives."
