Chapter 65 Aunt Wang's Son

Chapter 65 Aunt Wang's Son

The man looked up at Granny Zhou not far away, and smiled slightly, saying, "The Imperial Concubine was right, you are all here indeed."

Zhou Ruiyuan frowned upon hearing his words and said coldly, "Did she send you to kill me?"

The man's cold face was full of smiles. "The Imperial Concubine only asked me to send her greetings."

Seeing the sword, Aunt Zhou was not afraid. She strode forward, walked to Zhou Ruiyuan's side, and said sternly to the man, "That woman still won't let us go?! We've been harmed by her like this, why won't she stop!"

The man gripped his sword tightly and took a step forward. "You know, as long as you live, the Imperial Concubine will not be at peace."

Aunt Zhou's face was full of anger. She turned around, picked up the stick on the ground, and was about to strike.

Du Wanchun quickly stepped forward to stop her, "Mother, don't be impulsive, he has a sword."

Aunt Zhou trembled with anger and hatred. When she came to her senses, she grabbed Du Wanchun's hand and said repeatedly, "Wanchun, run! Get out of here! We can't drag you down with us!"

Du Wanchun shook her head, then hugged her tightly to calm her down.

Just then, Aunt Wang's voice came from the doorway, "Zhou Meizi, what's wrong with you two? Why are you making such a racket?"

As she spoke, she walked into the courtyard and looked up to see a man holding a sword at the gate.

Aunt Wang stared in disbelief at the spot where the statue had stopped.

Aunt Zhou quickly said to her, "Sister Wang, you must leave quickly, he is an assassin!"

However, instead of leaving, Aunt Wang walked forward step by step and said something that no one expected.

"Qiu'er, is that you?!"

The man was visibly startled when he heard the call.

Aunt Wang immediately burst into tears and rushed to the man, crying out, "Qiu'er, it really is!"

The man's usually composed eyes momentarily lost in thought.

Taking advantage of the opportunity, Zhou Ruiyuan immediately reached out and dodged the sword in his hand.

By the time the man realized what was happening, Zhou Ruiyuan had already pressed his sword against his throat.

Seeing this, Aunt Wang quickly said to Zhou Ruiyuan, "Ruiyuan, don't do anything! He's my son, our long-lost son!"

Du Wanchun and Aunt Zhou were both shocked and looked at Aunt Wang.

To everyone's surprise, the assassin turned out to be the Wang family's son who disappeared after going to the capital to make a living.

"Auntie, are you sure you're looking closely? Is it really him?" Du Wanchun asked Aunt Wang.

Aunt Wang looked at the man's face again and again, nodding repeatedly and saying, "That's right, it's him, my son. I couldn't possibly be mistaken."

The man stared at the woman in front of him, his eyes filled with shock, and finally called out to her, "Mother... what are you doing here?"

While wiping away her tears, Aunt Wang said, "Your father and I sold all our land and went to the capital to look for you, but unfortunately we couldn't find you, so we can only stay in Changliu Village for now."

As he spoke, he looked at Aunt Zhou and Zhou Ruiyuan and said, "Fortunately, we know the Zhou family. They have always taken good care of us two old people living alone, so we have been able to live peacefully until now."

The Wang family was generous to the Zhou family, and the Zhou family would take care of the Wang couple on a regular basis.

They are getting old, and they still need the help of young and strong men for many heavy tasks.

Zhou Ruiyuan and Zhou Feng of the Zhou family are both disabled; one of them can't walk and the other is blind, so they can't offer much help.

However, Zhou Zhao is a hard worker. Although he is deaf, he always takes the initiative to do the heavy work at home.

Just then, Zhou Zhao, who had gone to return the carriage, returned. Seeing his elder brother carrying a sword and then looking at the strange man standing in the courtyard, he immediately ran over and asked, "Brother, what happened?"

Zhou Ruiyuan looked at the man and said, "An assassin sent from the capital."

Zhou Zhao suddenly realized what was happening and raised his fist, ready to fight as well.

Aunt Wang stopped him again, saying, "Let's talk this out. Is there some misunderstanding?"

The man stated frankly, "There is no misunderstanding. I was indeed ordered to assassinate them."

Before he could finish speaking, Aunt Wang raised her hand and slapped him on the back of the head. "You little rascal! I thought you were going to the capital to do something important, but it turns out you're doing this kind of heinous thing!"
