Under Chahar's arrangement, Shen Xiuyi disguised herself as a palace servant and infiltrated the palace.
Before infiltrating the palace, he had already found an opportunity to send a message to Xue Shen, roughly outlining Chahar's plan.

Just as Chahar had said, the eldest prince, Chali, had deployed a large number of men to guard the outer perimeter of the palace against his two brothers, while the defenses of the inner palace were considerably neglected. At least, he wandered around the inner palace alone for half a day without anyone coming to drive him away or question him.
After Shen Xiuyi had roughly figured out the terrain of the inner city of the palace, he took out the communication flare that Xue Shen had given him, opened the bamboo cover, and released the flare.
He left a coded message at the location where the fireworks were set off, and then hid in a nearby palace, waiting for the other party to come and meet him.
After waiting for a moment, Shen Xiuyi saw a woman dressed as a palace maid walk quickly towards her. She passed by as if nothing was wrong, but her eyes quickly glanced at the secret signal that Shen Xiuyi had left in the corner, and then walked straight towards the direction where Shen Xiuyi was.
Although Shen Xiuyi was somewhat surprised that the person Xue Shen had arranged was a woman, she waited until the woman entered the hall and exchanged the secret code before emerging from her hiding place.
Upon seeing him, the other person nodded slightly and lowered their voice to say quickly, "My name is Wen Rao. His Highness ordered us to come and assist General Shen. In just a short while, only two guards remained at the door.

Cha Li was startled and looked him up and down. Seeing that he was a palace servant he didn't recognize, he said incredulously, "You found the edict of succession? Where did you find it? Bring it here for me to see."
Shen Xiu carefully took out the imperial edict from his sleeve, presented it to him with both hands, and said timidly, "It was found in the study... I am responsible for cleaning the study on weekdays."
