Chapter Forty-Six: The Little White-Eyed Wolf
Sang Ruo held her phone, waiting quietly.
A short while later, a message notification popped up on my phone.
"Miss Sang, are you planning to treat me to dinner sometime?"
When Sang Ruo saw the message, she was suddenly stunned.
Even through the screen, he was able to accurately guess her thoughts.
That's really amazing.
Sang Ruo quickly typed a line of text and then pressed the send button.
"bite--"
Bo Jinyan had just come out of the meeting when his phone popped up with a text message notification. He gently swiped the screen with his fingertip and saw a text message from Sang Ruo.
[Didn't we agree yesterday to have dinner with Linlin another day, just as a simple ceremony? Or how about tonight?]
The man's thin lips curved slightly, and a nonchalant smile appeared on his face.
"Mr. Bo, the project manager from the Science and Technology Museum would like to invite you to dinner tonight..."
Zhang Ye held the report form and looked up at the man's back.
Before he could finish speaking, Bo Jinyan interrupted him: "Postpone it to tomorrow."
"But this is something you promised a few days ago." Zhang Ye stepped forward and asked with some confusion, "Are you going back to the old house to have dinner with Old Master Bo today?"
"Is having meals with him all I can do?"
"No, it's just that you usually turn down social engagements to go back to the old house." Seeing him staring at the screen typing, Zhang Ye asked curiously, "Mr. Bo, are you in love?"
Bo Jinyan's eyelashes trembled slightly, and he looked up at Zhang Ye: "What made you have this idea?"
"Your reaction is somewhat like..."
Zhang Ye subconsciously reached out and pointed at Bo Jinyan's phone.
Bo Jinyan merely glanced at him, quickly typed a message, and sent it back to Sang Ruo.
Send me the address you've chosen.
He shoved his phone into his pocket, a chilling glint in his eyes: "If you're so bored, go find that 'Huai Sang' for me. He's had his phone off for days. What's up with this guy?"
"Mr. Bo, I really have no idea how to do this. I can't exactly hire a hacker to find the person, can I?"
"I don't care what method you use, find her for me as soon as possible."
"yes."
Bo Jinyan strode away from the corridor.
Zhang Ye was immediately at his wit's end. Just who was this 'Huai Sang'? Why was he acting so mysteriously?
If you shut down your computer for days at a time, how can you possibly do business?
When Sang Ruo went to pick up Song Linlin in the evening, she ran into Liang Yuxin and Bo Yukang at the school gate.
Bo Yukang, with his sharp eyes, recognized the two people in front of him at a glance.
When her gaze fell on the hand that Sang Ruo was holding Song Linlin's, a surge of jealousy welled up within her.
"Mother!"
Sang Ruo turned around upon hearing the sound and stopped in her tracks when she saw the two people standing behind her.
Song Linlin, who was beside her, also stopped and, after meeting Bo Yukang's gaze, subconsciously tightened her grip on Sang Ruo's hand.
"Why is it you again who's picking her up? Why isn't your uncle picking her up?"
Bo Yukang looked displeased as he gazed at Song Linlin.
Seeing that Sang Ruo didn't say anything, Song Linlin cautiously replied, "Godfather doesn't have time..."
"Does not have time mean you expect my mom to pick you up? She doesn't even come to pick me up, but she comes to pick you up every day!"
Seeing his jealous face, Song Linlin quickly hid behind Sang Ruo.
Sang Ruo's expression suddenly darkened slightly: "Bo Yukang, Linlin is timid, so speak to her more gently in the future."
“Miss Sang, Song Linlin is just your friend’s child, and also your uncle’s goddaughter in Jinzhou. It’s really inappropriate for you to pick her up and drop her off every few days. I heard you two even live together?”
"This is our business, it's none of your concern."
“This really has little to do with me, but you don’t even pick up your own son, yet you pick up your uncle’s child every day and even raise him. If word gets out, aren’t you afraid of being gossiped about?”
Sang Ruo's tone was cold: "Since you're so eager to pick up my son, I can only settle for picking up someone else's child."
Liang Yuxin was speechless for a moment, and her brows furrowed slightly.
“Mom! In the three years you’ve been gone, Dad and Aunt Xin Xin have been picking me up. She’s done a lot of things for you that you should have done. You should be grateful to her. Why are you blaming her?”
Bo Yukang's protective manner towards Liang Yuxin reminded Sang Ruo of three years ago.
He was just as aggressive when he testified on behalf of this woman.
Oh.
Ten months of pregnancy, and I've raised a little ingrate.
“I’m getting a divorce from your dad anyway, and your Aunt Xin Xin will take over sooner or later. Let her experience what it’s like to take care of a son in advance, and see if being a ‘stepmother’ is so easy.”
Liang Yuxin was a little angry, but with her child there, it was really difficult for her to retort.
Seeing that she didn't say anything more, Sang Ruo withdrew her gaze and quickly left with Song Linlin.
It was evening.
Sang Ruo chose a decent restaurant and sent a message to Bo Jinyan.
"Aunt Xiaoruo, is Uncle Bo coming soon?"
“Yes.” Sang Ruo stretched out her fair hand and pinched her little cheek: “When Uncle Bo comes later, you have to call him godfather. You can’t call him Uncle Bo anymore.”
"Okay, I'll do whatever Aunt Xiaoruo says."
"It seems that our Xiaoruo really likes Uncle Bo."
Song Linlin lowered her head and smiled gently: "Uncle Bo is actually very gentle. Every time he came to see my mother before, he would bring me a gift."
"Really?" Sang Ruo smiled faintly. "Then do you think Uncle Bo will bring you a gift later?"
I guess so.
A faint smile appeared on Song Linlin's face, her eyes full of anticipation.
Five minutes later, there was a knock on the door.
Sang Ruo looked up at the sound and saw the waiter push open the door, followed by a tall figure.
Bo Jinyan, dressed in a well-fitting suit and carrying a large rabbit doll, strode in.
When Sang Ruo saw this scene, she turned to look at Song Linlin.
The two exchanged a smile instantly.
This level of understanding clearly shows a father-daughter bond.
"Godfather".
Song Linlin's voice wasn't loud, but Bo Jinyan still heard it clearly.
But he couldn't help but tease, "What did you call me? I didn't hear you clearly."
When Sang Ruo saw the man holding a rabbit doll and bending down to look at Song Linlin, her eyebrows involuntarily curved slightly for a moment, and her smile deepened.
Song Linlin has autism and doesn't like to talk most of the time, so Sang Ruo naturally understood his intention.
Seeing that the child was a little shy, Sang Ruo put her hand on her back and said, "Linlin, your godfather gave you a gift. What should you say to your godfather?"
"Thank you, godfather."
This time, Song Linlin spoke loudly, and a faint smile appeared on her face.
"You're welcome."
Bo Jinyan handed the rabbit doll to the child, and Song Linlin quickly reached out and took it.
As dinner drew to a close, Bo Jinyan looked up at Sang Ruo and asked, "Miss Sang, you asked me out today for more than just a meal, didn't you?"
