Chapter Twenty: The man is heartless, the woman is indifferent.

Chapter Twenty: The man is heartless, the woman is indifferent.

Upon hearing the sound, Sang Ruowen and Bo Jinzhou turned their heads at the same time.

A familiar figure suddenly came into their view.

Why did Bo Jinyan suddenly come back?

"Uncle, I was just a little emotional..."

Bo Jinzhou subconsciously released his hands that were restraining Sang Ruo, and when he looked at the man in front of him, his brows furrowed slightly for a moment.

Bo Jinyan glanced at him indifferently, then turned his gaze toward Sang Ruo.

Sang Ruo's gaze met his.

In just a second, Bo Jinyan looked away and turned to Bo Jinzhou beside him: "Were you two arguing just now?"

Bo Jinzhou hesitated, as if he wanted to say something but then stopped.

Seeing that he didn't respond for a long time, Sang Ruo said calmly, "It's just that we have some disagreements."

"What disagreement? It's Grandpa who doesn't agree with our divorce and has been trying to bring us back together. Today, when I saw her come back, Grandpa insisted that I bring the child back with me. If he knew she was here today..."

"If I had known you were coming back, I certainly wouldn't have come."

Before he could finish speaking, Sang Ruo interrupted him.

"Sang Ruo, are you determined to make me lose face?"

"Wasn't it President Bo who first tried to prevent me from stepping down?"

Sang Ruo's lips curled into a cold, indifferent smile, and a chill ran through her eyes.

"you also……"

"alright."

Bo Jinzhou wanted to say something more, but he was interrupted by his voice.

The man's voice was cool, and his phoenix eyes were filled with coldness: "Now that you're all back, have a proper meal tonight and don't continue arguing in front of the old man. You all know that he's not in good health."

After he finished speaking, his gaze drifted intentionally or unintentionally towards Bo Jinzhou.

That slightly warning look was imprinted on Bo Jinzhou's eyes.

"I'll go and call them in for dinner."

Sang Ruo gestured to Bo Jinyan, who was standing in front of her, and the man leaned slightly to make way for her.

As Sang Ruo passed by the man, her shoulder lightly brushed against his arm.

He could smell the faint, cool fragrance emanating from the man.

In just one second, the two had created distance between them.

Bo Jinyan glanced in the direction Sang Ruo had left, his dark eyes unusually deep.

"Uncle, why did you suddenly come back today?"

"The old man asked me to come back and have a meal with him. I didn't expect you to be here too." Bo Jinyan said calmly, "You know that the last family dinner was unpleasant."

Bo Jinzhou lowered his eyes: "I'm sorry, because of us..."

"The people you should really apologize to are not us."

Bo Jinzhou was interrupted by Bo Jinyan before he could finish speaking.

There's a hidden meaning in his words.

Bo Jinzhou naturally understood.

Before he could answer, Bo Jinyan strode away quickly.

He glanced at his uncle's departing figure, his eyes gradually darkening.

Why do I always feel like...

My uncle always deliberately protects that woman.

Was it just his imagination?

Because of Mr. Bo's presence, Sang Ruo had to finish her dinner no matter what.

They even insisted that she have a couple of drinks with them.

It wasn't until evening that Sang Ruo understood her grandfather's intentions.

“Sang Ruo, you’re very drunk. Why don’t you stay and rest tonight? You can sleep in the same room as Jin Zhou, and let the child sleep with me…”

Old Master Bo glanced at her with a kind expression, but his eyes revealed an eagerness to bring them together.

Sang Ruo glanced at the man beside her, and was about to refuse when Bo Jinzhou spoke first: "Grandpa, I have work to do tonight, so I may not be able to stay."

"What job is more important than your wife? Don't go anywhere tonight, just stay and take care of Xiaoruo. She's drunk, how can she manage without someone to look after her?"

Sang Ruo looked up at the direction of Old Master Bo, but her gaze inadvertently swept over the man next to him.

Bo Jinyan leaned back on the sofa, his elbows propped up on the side, his fingertips lightly touching his lips, looking at everything in front of him with an indifferent expression.

Sang Ruo looked away and turned to Grandpa Bo beside him: "Grandpa, I don't need anyone to take care of me. I can sleep in the guest room."

After saying that, she got up unsteadily and prepared to go upstairs.

"Bo Jinzhou, hurry up and follow them."

As soon as Old Master Bo finished speaking, his gaze fell on Bo Jinzhou.

Bo Jinzhou hesitated for a moment, but in the end he couldn't go against the old man's wishes and got up to follow him.

Behind them, a narrow gaze was now following the direction they had gone.

"Ayan, did you bring your driver tonight?"

The man looked away and turned to his father beside him.

Bo Jinyan chuckled softly: "You left your grandson and granddaughter-in-law here, but you're kicking me out?"

“That’s not what I meant, you know that.” Old Master Bo suddenly leaned closer and lowered his voice, saying, “Your room is right next to Jinzhou’s. Those two haven’t seen each other for so long, it’s inevitable that…”

He then stopped short of saying anything more.

How could the ever-intelligent Bo Jinyan not understand the meaning behind his father's words?

The man curled his lips into a half-smile and replied, "Your attempt to start a fire might not succeed."

Old Master Bo didn't quite understand what he meant. When he looked up, the old man had already strode up to the second floor.

When Bo Jinyan arrived on the second floor, he saw that Bo Jinzhou was locked out of the room.

He was knocking on the door: "Sang Ruo, open the door right away."

As Bo Jinyan passed by him, Bo Jinzhou glanced back at him.

Upon seeing the man behind her, she suddenly paused, "Uncle? Are you staying at the old house tonight too?"

"Um."

Bo Jinyan glanced at him indifferently, then strode towards the study.

Bo Jinzhou's knocking could still be heard behind me.

"Sang Ruo, open the door."

When Bo Jinzhou passed by the nearby guesthouses, he saw that all the doors were locked.

The man couldn't help but sneer.

Old Master Bo really went to great lengths to bring the two of them together!

It's just a pity...

He is heartless, and I am indifferent.

How can this fire be lit?

Inside the room at this moment.

Sang Ruo leaned against the balcony, slightly drunk, when she heard a rapid knocking on the door.

But she acted as if she hadn't heard and continued to admire the night view outside.

While eating, she tied her hair up with a rubber band, and there was a slight chill on the back of her neck.

Intending to take her hair out, perhaps she pulled too hard when she did so, and the rubber band in her hand had already snapped off and landed on the balcony next door.

Sang Ruo's brow furrowed slightly for a moment.

My gaze passed over the transparent glass railing and fell upon the rubber band on the neighboring balcony.

She hesitated for a moment, then finally lifted her foot and climbed up without hesitation...
