Chapter Twenty-One: He Slept in His Room
This glass railing isn't very high; it's just a single piece of glass that separates the balconies of the two rooms.
She climbed over it with ease.
As I bent down to pick up the rubber band from the ground, I felt my head getting increasingly dizzy, and drowsiness gradually crept in.
The room next door has always been empty.
To this day, Sang Ruo still doesn't know whose room it is.
My head is splitting with pain.
She didn't care about anything else anymore, and staggered to the big bed in the room, where she lay down directly.
Just then, a cell phone rang outside the door.
And then came the man's deep voice: "Yuxin, did you look for me?"
He had no idea what the woman opposite him had said to him.
After gently comforting her for a few moments, Bo Jinzhou said softly, "Wait for me there, I'll be right there."
Sang Ruo heard the man's hurried departure.
Soon, the sound of an engine could be heard downstairs.
She had no interest in paying attention to him anymore, and closed her eyes to fall into a deep sleep.
Half an hour later.
When Bo Jinyan was about to return to his room, he encountered Bo Jinzhou's mother, Chen Fangyue, in the corridor.
"Ayan, you're back today too?"
As Chen Fangyue stepped onto the stairs, she watched the man's back with a smile.
"Yes, Second Sister-in-law."
Bo Jinyan greeted him politely and then opened the door.
The room was dimly lit, but he still spotted the figure lying on the bed at a glance.
"Bang--"
In an instant, he closed the door.
At this moment, Chen Fangyue was about to pass by behind him.
This action left Chen Fangyue somewhat bewildered.
She frowned and stared at him: "What's wrong? Ayan..."
Bo Jinyan glanced back at her and quickly changed the subject: "Why isn't Second Sister-in-law home tonight?"
Chen Fangyue suddenly froze for a moment.
Bo Jinyan enjoys extremely high prestige in the Bo family, second only to the old master Bo. Every time Chen Fangyue sees this uncle, she has to treat him with utmost respect and rarely asks him about her schedule.
Chen Fangyue wasn't very cunning; she just kept talking to him.
The two stood at the door and talked for a full three minutes before Chen Fangyue finished recounting what she had seen and heard during her trip with her sisters that day.
"It's getting late, so I won't disturb your rest any longer."
"Um."
Bo Jinyan opened the door after Chen Fangyue left.
He quickly locked the door from the inside and turned on the dim wall lamp.
The light wasn't very bright, but it still woke the person in bed.
Sang Ruo merely turned over; she did not fully wake up.
When Bo Jinyan saw the person lying on the bed, his brows furrowed slightly.
That's right.
It was indeed that woman.
He reached out and nudged her shoulder, but Sang Ruo instinctively hooked her arm around his neck.
The next second, she pulled the man into her arms.
The sudden closeness allowed him to smell her faint fragrance, and that familiar feeling surged up once again.
The woman leaned forward slightly, her lips landing precisely on his left cheek.
In that instant, Bo Jinyan's pupils widened slightly.
A tingling, numb sensation spread through his heart in an instant.
This is the first time I've had this experience...
The atmosphere instantly became awkward.
He quickly pulled his hand away from Sang Ruo's, straightened up, and looked down at her.
Bo Jinzhou had already left the old house, but the old man was unaware of it; he had already taken the children to rest.
All the guest rooms around were locked, and even the room next door couldn't be opened.
If he lets her rest here alone, and if someone sees her walking out of his room when he wakes up tomorrow, the two of them will probably be unable to clear their names even if they jump into the Yellow River.
He had considered leaving, but his current situation made it impossible for him to let her go.
After a moment's thought, the man finally picked up his pajamas and headed to the bathroom.
When Sang Ruo came out of the shower, she was still lying on the bed in the same position as before.
It's no wonder he was about to lock the door just now, given how easily he can't hold his liquor.
But how did she get in here?
Bo Jinyan looked around and his gaze fell on the balcony.
The man chuckled softly, then walked back into the room.
He took a new blanket from the closet and strode towards the sofa.
They thought they had made quite a commotion.
But from that moment on, the figure on the bed never woke up.
The next day, early morning.
Sang Ruo was awakened by the knocking on the door next door.
"Mom, Dad, it's time to get up."
"I'm going to be late for school, you have to take me there."
It was Bo Yukang knocking on the door.
When Sang Ruo opened her sleepy eyes, she glanced in the direction of the gate.
The sofa was right next to the front door. The first thing that caught my eye wasn't the door, but the figure lying on the sofa.
When Sang Ruo met the man's gaze, her pupils widened slightly.
"Thin……"
Before Sang Ruo could finish speaking, the man coughed lightly, interrupting her.
He winked at the door before she quietly got up, her mind racing.
I finally remembered why I was in this room...
So, this is Bo Jinyan's room?
The sound of children knocking on the door next door continued, even disturbing Chen Fangyue.
If she goes out through the front door at this moment, then it's all over!
Sang Ruo quickly walked towards the balcony, but unexpectedly Bo Jinyan followed her.
He closed the sliding door with one hand, then leaned against the railing, looking at her indifferently: "Miss Sang, shouldn't you give me a reasonable explanation?"
The knocking on the door of the next room grew louder and louder.
“Mr. Bo, this is just a misunderstanding. I will explain it to you properly later, but right now I have to leave the room next door…”
Sang Ruo quickly turned around, intending to climb up, but suddenly stopped.
In broad daylight, and right in front of Bo Jinyan, climbing the glass railing was hardly an elegant gesture.
"You're not planning to crawl over here right in front of me, are you?"
Just then, a man's extremely deep voice came from behind.
Sang Ruo turned around, her tattooed face revealing a forced smile.
He gritted his teeth and blurted out, "Mr. Bo, could you please excuse me for a moment?"
Upon hearing this, a faint smile appeared on the man's face.
This man had always been aloof and gave off a strong sense of detachment; this was the first time she had ever seen such a gentle smile on his face.
He watched her quietly, seemingly with no intention of leaving.
Do you need my help?
Sang Ruo was somewhat surprised: "Huh?"
Bo Jinyan suddenly walked towards her and then stopped in front of her.
He said he wanted to help her?
How can I help?
Just as Sang Ruo was wondering about this, the man bent down slightly and picked her up horizontally.
Sang Ruo's heart leaped into her throat: "Mr. Bo, isn't this inappropriate?"
