Chapter Forty-Three: The Kiss of the Adam's Apple
Sang Ruo stopped and turned to look at the person who had spoken.
Liang Yuxin wore a gentle smile, but her eyes concealed a ruthless glint.
Sang Ruo turned around and suddenly sneered: "Now I finally understand why you and Bo Jinyan got together. You two are really birds of a feather."
As soon as the words were spoken, Liang Yuxin's face darkened.
Zhong Yating cursed, "Sang Ruo, what nonsense are you spouting? If you can't speak properly, then don't speak!"
“Bo Jinzhou also thinks that I took his three million, but that three million was clearly obtained by me from selling the Guardian Lion. You all said the same thing, so you must be birds of a feather to say such similar things.”
Liang Yuxin was speechless for a moment.
Those guardian lions were indeed bought from her by Bo Jinzhou.
There is no doubt about that.
Zhong Yating couldn't stand seeing Liang Yuxin being bullied, so she stood up and confronted Sang Ruo: "With your mediocre medical skills, you'll probably go bankrupt in just a few days. Three million will probably only last you two months! Don't end up with no patients at all, that would be a huge embarrassment."
"Don't worry, with my mediocre medical skills, I'm more than capable of treating the brain problems of patients like you."
"you……"
Zhong Yating was somewhat angry, her chest heaving up and down.
"If you can't get better elsewhere, you can come to me. Our clinic will be open to you anytime after it opens."
Sang Ruo took out a business card, stuffed it directly into her palm, and then strode away.
Zhong Ya watched her retreating figure, then glanced down at the card in her hand, feeling a surge of anger.
"Also proficient in acupuncture, cupping, and acupoint therapy..."
"I think she's just a charlatan. She can only fool those old folks. Let's see how she handles it if she accidentally kills someone!"
Liang Yuxin glanced at the business card in Zhong Yating's hand, listening to her incessant cursing.
She turned to Zhong Yating and asked, "When will Sang Ruo's clinic open?"
Zhong Yating turned to Liang Yuxin beside her: "Why are you curious about this? You're not really planning to support us, are you?"
Liang Yuxin's brow relaxed slightly, and she smiled calmly: "I just wanted to give Miss Sang a grand opening gift."
Upon seeing the smile on her face, Zhong Yating instantly understood.
She handed the business card to Liang Yuxin: "I'll inquire about it for you later."
“No.” Liang Yuxin stretched out her fair and jade-like hand and pushed the business card back to her: “It’s not appropriate for me to give this generous gift. It should be given in your name.”
Zhong Yating asked curiously, "What do you plan to do?"
Liang Yuxin smiled mysteriously: "You'll know when the time comes."
...
When Sang Ruo brought Song Linlin home in the evening, she saw a very familiar figure in the distance.
The man, dressed in a white shirt and trousers that accentuated his long legs, leaned against the car while making a phone call. His expression was indifferent, and he exuded an air of aloofness befitting a superior, making people hesitant to approach him.
When I looked over here, I unintentionally met Sang Ruo's eyes.
Bo Jinyan hung up the phone and approached them.
"Mr. Bo, what brings you here so suddenly?"
Sang Ruo stood before him with Song Linlin, a hint of surprise in her eyes.
"Come and see the child."
The man spoke in a detached tone, his gaze fixed on Song Linlin.
"Linlin, say hello to your uncle."
Upon hearing Sang Ruo's words, Song Linlin stood obediently to the side and softly called out, "Uncle..."
Bo Jinyan jokingly asked, "Why aren't you calling me 'Dad' anymore?"
Song Linlin hid shyly behind Sang Ruo, smiling bashfully.
Seeing this, Sang Ruo smiled calmly and said, "Mr. Bo, since you're already here, why don't you go upstairs and have a cup of tea?"
Bo Jinyan nodded slightly: "I happen to have something I'd like to talk to you about alone."
"good."
Sang Ruo led the child and entered Youfeng Tower first, followed closely by Bo Jinyan.
After arriving home, Song Linlin went to her room to do her homework, leaving only Sang Ruo and Bo Jinyan in the living room.
Sang Ruo poured him a cup of tea and handed it to the man, saying, "Mr. Bo, please have some tea."
"Thank you." Bo Jinyan picked up his teacup but didn't drink it immediately. "I came here today to talk to you about adopting Linlin as my goddaughter."
Sang Ruo paused for a moment: "Mr. Bo, are you serious?"
“If you’re going to put on an act, you should go all the way.” Bo Jinyan toyed with the teacup in his hand. “Since the words have already been spoken, it’s natural to make it as perfect as possible. Later, ask Linlin if she’d like to be my goddaughter…”
"I do."
Before Bo Jinyan could finish speaking, a childish voice suddenly came from the doorway.
Sang Ruo and Bo Jinyan turned around at the sound and saw Song Linlin standing at the door with her homework.
Sang Ruo curled her lips into a faint smile: "It seems our Linlin really likes Uncle Bo..."
Song Linlin smiled, turned around and went back into the house, leaving the door half-closed.
The man withdrew his gaze, a slight smile playing on his thin lips, and drained his teacup in one gulp.
“Mr. Bo, since that’s the case, let’s have a meal together another day, go through a simple ceremony, and then this matter will be settled.”
"Um."
The man nodded slightly, his smile deepening.
This was the first time Sang Ruo had ever seen this man smile.
The curve that it forms is captivating.
The reason she agreed to this condition was simply because she felt that finding another shelter for the child wouldn't be a bad thing.
With so many wolves and tigers around her, no one knows what the future holds.
If Song Linlin had Bo Jinyan backing her up, even with the title of 'adopted daughter,' no one in the capital would dare to bully her anymore.
When will your clinic open?
Bo Jinyan's voice interrupted Sang Ruo's thoughts.
She raised her eyes and smiled faintly: "Expected in five days."
The man said casually, "Pretty efficient."
Sang Ruo smiled gently: "Mr. Bo, you flatter me."
Bo Jinyan claimed he had other matters to attend to and had to leave first; Sang Ruo saw him out.
As she stepped out the door, her shoes suddenly slipped on the stairs, causing her body to involuntarily lean backward.
Just as Sang Ruo was about to fall, a pair of large hands suddenly appeared around her waist. She quickly grabbed Bo Jinyan's arm and instinctively lunged forward.
The two were very close, and suddenly her lips touched the man's Adam's apple.
At that moment, it was as if the world had stood still.
The man's Adam's apple bobbed up and down for a moment.
After regaining her balance, Sang Ruo quickly steadied herself and left the man's embrace.
"I'm sorry, I didn't mean to."
Sang Ruo glanced at the man's Adam's apple, then subconsciously lowered her eyelids.
Bo Jinyan looked at her face, but his gaze lingered on her lips.
Suddenly, the man reached out his well-defined hand and lifted her chin in an instant.
The next second, their eyes met...
