Chapter Forty-Two: A Slap
Just as Sang Ruo was about to respond, a deep voice interrupted her: "I'm going to the company, and I'm going the same way as her."
Bo Jinyan turned around upon hearing the sound and caught sight of the man standing behind him; his expression suddenly darkened.
“I can take a longer route to see her off, so there’s no need for you to trouble your brother-in-law.”
Before Sang Ruo could respond, Bo Jinzhou grabbed her wrist again and pulled her into the car.
This scene caused the man behind him to frown slightly.
"Bo Jinzhou, is this how the Bo family's etiquette teaches you to treat women?"
A man's displeased voice came from behind.
Sang Ruo had already been stuffed into the car by Bo Jinzhou.
He placed his hand on the doorframe, turned around and looked at Bo Jinyan with a calm expression: "Uncle, I'm sorry you had to laugh at me, but my husband and I have never been particular about etiquette, after all, that would be too formal."
He then decisively closed the door.
Bai Yu, the special assistant sitting in the driver's seat, slowly started the car.
Sang Ruo looked at the man standing outside the window, but her view was eventually blocked by a cold, sinister figure.
She was forced to look away.
The partition inside the car was hit by the man next to him.
The next second, Sang Ruo was pulled closer by the man beside her: "Is my uncle that handsome?"
The sudden closeness made Sang Ruo slightly displeased: "Prettier than you."
Bo Jinzhou was suddenly caught off guard, and the hand holding her waist tightened its grip for a moment.
"Let go."
Sang Ruo reached her hand to his waist, trying to pry open his fingertips.
"When did your relationship with my uncle become so close?" The man's expression darkened slightly. "Is it because of the child that you've become so close? You even dared to get into his car right in front of me?"
Oh.
Sang Ruo gave a cold laugh: "Don't you have any self-awareness about our relationship?"
"Since you haven't signed the papers yet, you naturally have to fulfill the duties of a wife, otherwise you will be condemned by others."
The man's hand moved involuntarily upwards.
Without hesitation, Sang Ruo raised her hand and slapped him across the face.
Upon seeing this, the man suddenly dodged away, and his large hand that had been resting on her waist missed its mark.
"Smack—"
The slap didn't land on his face, but on his neck.
Although it's just my neck, it really hurts.
"Are you crazy? How could you hit me?"
Bo Jinzhou raised his head in an instant, covering the spot where she had hit him, his eyes instantly turning chillingly cold.
"If you lay a hand on me again, it won't be as simple as just hitting you." Sang Ruo's voice was deep: "Didn't I tell you last time? I told you not to touch me! You asked for it."
"When did you become like this? You used to be so gentle with me, never saying a harsh word to me, but now you're hitting me all the time!"
Three years in prison had long since eroded her love for him.
Right now, all that's left in my heart is endless resentment.
"I don't want to say things that are pointless again. Instead of being curious about why I became who I am today, you should go back and think about what you have done in the past."
"Are you having an affair?"
Bo Jinzhou's deep voice reached Sang Ruo's ears.
"Isn't it you who truly has someone else?" Sang Ruo's tone was cold: "For so many years, I've been guarding your white moonlight. Mr. Bo, don't tell me such a ridiculous thing as you two are just good friends..."
Upon hearing this, Bo Jinzhou's expression darkened considerably.
Seeing that he didn't say anything, she spoke again: "Have your assistant let me down at the foot of the mountain."
"You don't want to spend even a moment with me anymore?"
"yes."
Her response was concise and to the point, without the slightest hesitation.
Bo Jinzhou was so angry that he was speechless.
What exactly did she experience in prison?
Why did things turn out like this after I came out?
Sang Ruo got off the bus at the roadside, intending to take a taxi home.
This scene had already been observed by a dark gaze.
Through the windshield, Zhang Ye also saw Sang Ruo get out of Bo Jinzhou's car ahead.
As the black Cayenne disappeared from sight, he glanced at Sang Ruo standing by the roadside waiting for a car, and asked the man in the back seat in a low voice, "Mr. Bo, Miss Sang got out of Bo Jinzhou's car, do we need to go over there?"
Bo Jinyan's eyes darkened, and he glanced down at his watch.
Just as they were about to speak, they saw that beautiful figure get into a taxi and drive away right in front of them.
The corners of the man's lips gradually turned up slightly.
After seeing Sang Ruo get into the car, Zhang Ye stopped waiting for the man's response, stepped on the gas, and drove off.
"Did you manage to contact Huai Sang, the person I asked you to contact a few days ago?"
Bo Jinyan raised his eyelids and looked towards the driver's seat.
Looking through the rearview mirror, Zhang Ye respectfully replied, "It seems she's been constantly on the phone and I can't reach her. I was going to report this to you a couple of days ago, but I got busy and forgot."
Bo Jinyan's eyes suddenly narrowed slightly: "It's been off the whole time?"
"Yes," Zhang Ye said slowly, "I'll try calling a few more times when I have some free time today."
"Um."
Bo Jinyan gave a curt reply and remained silent.
When Sang Ruo arrived home, Chen Anni was already having dinner with Song Linlin.
She sat down and ate a simple meal with them, and then began to coordinate the work matters of the clinic.
The clinic's progress has been ongoing these past few days, and barring any unforeseen circumstances, it should be completed in a few more days. Tomorrow, I need to take care of some basic equipment and find another assistant.
The next day, after dropping Song Linlin off at school, Sang Ruo began preparing for her own affairs.
While purchasing the necessary equipment, she was bending over to examine a plastic bag, which was used to pack traditional Chinese medicine for patients.
"Hey, isn't this Boss Sang?"
A harsh voice reached her ears.
Sang Ruo turned around upon hearing the sound, and when she saw the person standing behind her, a chill settled in her eyes.
It was Liang Yuxin and her friend Zhong Yating, who is not in the entertainment industry.
Sang Ruo ignored them and turned back to continue selecting transparent bags.
Just as she was picking up a stack of bags, a pair of fair hands preemptively grabbed the bag beside her.
Sang Ruo ignored her and tried to take more.
But those hands snatched away what she wanted again.
The blatant provocation pushed her to her limit.
She turned to look at Zhong Yating beside her: "What do you want to do?"
"Miss Sang, Yating just wanted to buy a bag, why are you being so harsh with her?"
Liang Yuxin stood up for Zhong Yating and pulled her to her side.
"You think she's buying bags properly? She just grabs whichever bag I want!"
“Miss Sang, this shopping mall isn’t owned by your family. It seems to belong to the An Ding Group, right? That belongs to Bo Jinyan, not your husband…”
Zhong Yating curled her lips into a smile, a hint of provocation in her eyes.
Sang Ruo didn't want to pay attention to them and turned to leave.
"Miss Sang, I heard that you used the three million yuan that Jinzhou gave you to set up some kind of clinic. Isn't this a big deal? Shouldn't you discuss it with Jinzhou?"
