Chapter Sixteen: He almost died in front of him

Chapter Sixteen: He almost died in front of him

Bo Jinzhou led Bo Yukang closer with great strides.

How did you know I was hospitalized?

Sang Ruo's gaze held a hint of wariness as she silently observed them.

“I have some friends at the hospital. I heard you were brought here for emergency treatment, so I brought Xiao Kang over to see you.” Bo Jinzhou’s eyes darkened. “Don’t you know your own limitations? Doesn’t the orphanage have any security personnel? Why do you have to send an outsider like me to save someone?”

The moment the words left his lips, the atmosphere around him instantly fell into a tense standoff.

"Bo Jinzhou, how dare you speak like that?" Chen Anni quickly stood up, stood by the hospital bed, her back to Sang Ruo, and shouted at him, "When Sang Ruo arrived, the security personnel hadn't even reached the scene yet. So many children were inside. Were we just going to watch them perish in the fire?"

"I'm just saying that she didn't even have the ability to save people herself, and she almost lost her own life. In the end, she caused trouble for the staff. Wouldn't that be even more troublesome?"

“Exactly!” Bo Yukang chimed in from the side, “Mom, you’re already timid and afraid of trouble, why are you causing more trouble at this crucial moment?”

Upon hearing this, Sang Ruo felt a chill run down her spine.

She had almost lost her life, and the first thing these two men did when they saw her was not to comfort her, but to endlessly blame and berate her.

How ridiculous!

Timid and afraid of trouble.

I never expected my son to use such words to describe her.

All these years later, this is how he saw her.

"What do you mean, cowardly and afraid of trouble? Your mother rushed into the fire to save people, and you still say she's cowardly and afraid of trouble?" Chen Anni frowned slightly, a hint of anger flashing in her eyes: "Bo Yukang, how can you say that about your mother?"

Bo Yukang glared at Chen Anni.

Perhaps the child was intimidated by her aura and dared not utter a sound.

Why are you yelling at the child?

Bo Jinzhou quickly pulled Bo Yukang behind him.

The eyes that looked at Chen Anni were filled with intense anger.

Chen Anni bluntly stated, "I'm just stating the facts. Sang Ruo is incredibly unlucky to have run into you two!"

Bo Jinzhou frowned in anger.

Chen Anni had never been optimistic about his marriage with Sang Ruo.

He had always known this.

Even if they disliked the father and son in the past, they would never argue with them directly.

Therefore, Bo Jinzhou was really annoyed, and the veins on his forehead were bulging.

Just as he was about to speak, Sang Ruo, who had been silent all along, said indifferently, "Bo Jinzhou, please take the child and leave my ward immediately."

The chilling coldness in Bo Jinzhou's bright eyes became even more pronounced.

"I brought my son to visit you out of kindness, and this is how you treat us?"

Sang Ruo was very tired and had no energy to argue with him.

Her voice was even more indifferent than before: "I'm tired and want to rest. Please leave as soon as possible."

"Fine, let's go." Bo Yukang grabbed his father's hand, his young face showing displeasure. "Dad, since Mom doesn't welcome us, let's go!"

Bo Jinzhou wanted to say something more, but his son kept pulling him away, so he could only walk outside.

After the door was closed, Bo Jinzhou led Bo Yukang toward the elevator.

Both of them were very angry, but neither of them said a word.

The moment the elevator doors slowly opened, a tall figure resolutely came into their view.

Bo Jinzhou was somewhat surprised: "Uncle?"

Bo Jinyan raised his eyelids, and suddenly stopped in his tracks: "What are you doing here?"

Bo Jinzhou glanced at the fruit basket in Bo Jinyan's hand before looking away.

He held Bo Yukang's hand and said calmly, "I received a call from a friend at the hospital today. They said that Sang Ruo was in a fire at the orphanage and was brought to the hospital unconscious. Xiao Kang and I came to take a look."

“Mom even kicked us out…”

Bo Yukang pouted, looking particularly displeased.

"Yeah?"

The man curled his thin lips into a half-smile.

"Uncle, what brings you to the inpatient ward? Do you have a friend who's hospitalized?"

Bo Jinzhou looked up at the man in front of him, curiosity surging in his eyes.

"Hmm." Bo Jinyan pointed to the elevator, his voice casual: "The elevator's here, let's take Xiao Kang home quickly!"

"Okay, Uncle, let's get together another day."

Goodbye, Uncle.

Bo Jinyan nodded slightly, without saying a word.

After the elevator doors closed, the man walked lightly toward Sang Ruo's ward.

When Sang Ruo was rushed into the emergency room, an accident happened at the group's project. He had left to deal with the situation at the scene and had only just finished.

This woman put herself in a dangerous situation in order to save the children in the orphanage.

Both morally and logically, he should come and take a look.

At this moment, inside the ward.

Chen Anni went to buy food for Sang Ruo, and she was alone in the ward at the moment.

When there was a knock at the door, I thought it was Bo Jinzhou returning with the child.

But when she saw the tall figure at the door, she suddenly froze.

A man dressed in a black suit appeared in the direction of the doorway, carrying a very exquisite fruit basket.

Sang Ruo's hands, gripping the bedsheets, clenched tightly. "Mr. Bo, what brings you here?"

"The dean originally intended to come over tonight, but something came up and he couldn't make it, so I came to see you on behalf of the hospital."

Bo Jinyan placed the fruit basket he was carrying on the bedside table, and then sat down on the chair next to the hospital bed.

"Thank you, Mr. Bo."

Where is your friend?

Bo Jinyan raised his shimmering eyes and looked around, but he didn't see Chen Anni.

"She went out to buy me dinner, she'll be back in a bit."

The man didn't respond after she finished speaking, and the surroundings suddenly fell silent.

Sang Ruo gritted her teeth and blurted out, "Mr. Bo, thank you for saving me."

"You were unconscious, how could you still remember that I saved you?"

Bo Jinyan suddenly moved closer, a hint of doubt appearing in his deep eyes.

Sang Ruo said softly, "Before I lost consciousness, I remember you rushed in and helped me avoid the chandelier..."

She only remembered that he saved her under the chandelier, but she didn't know that he had performed CPR and artificial respiration on her afterwards.

"I admire Miss Sang's courage. Among so many women present, only Miss Sang had the courage to rush in."

Bo Jinyan leaned back in his chair, resting his hands on the back of the chair, his long legs crossed, and glanced at her with a calm expression.

The sudden praise made Sang Ruo's heart skip a beat.

Recalling what Bo Jinzhou had just said, I suddenly found it ridiculous.

How many pounds and how much.

Courageous.

It's true that without comparison, there's no harm done.

“Perhaps it’s because mothers are overwhelmed with maternal love when they see children.” Sang Ruo’s smile deepened. “And I’m not the only brave one, there are also security personnel and Mr. Bo.”

The man raised his deep eyes, and when their eyes met, his eyelashes fluttered.

After a long pause, he finally said, "Do you know you almost died right in front of me?"
