Chapter 18 Zongqi's Fang

Chapter 18: Zongqi's Fang

Linqi hid under a wide tree trunk, and the vampire pirates' wanton artillery fire turned the entire swamp over.

Among the dwarves, a priest apprentice kept praying to Gazul, the patron saint of the dwarves' dead.

He hoped that the dwarves who died in the battle could safely reach the temple of their ancestors.

Lizardmen are much more cruel. For them, death is their destination and honor.

The great plan of the Ancients has determined all of this, and the stone tablets record everything in the past and the future, including the death of the Lizardman warriors.

This was destined to happen. There was no need to be sad. The dead soldiers had already contributed to the greater plan.

They should continue to implement the plans of the Ancient Saints instead of wasting time staying where they are.

Lynch looked at the fleet on the river in the distance, and he felt sorry that there were no war beasts in Nakai's nomadic group.

Nakai has gathered some lizardmen who are familiar with water and are preparing to go around the river and launch an underwater attack.

After several battles, half of the two thousand surviving lizards joined in.

Nakai left behind twenty of the more than fifty giant lizards to prevent vampires from attacking the remaining legion.

Hundreds of Thoros all stayed where they were. The lizardmen's underwater combat was quite limited, unless they were Thoros hatched with Zongqi's blessing.

The casualties were already tragic enough. If there were no lizardmen to reinforce them, these warriors had to protect themselves as much as possible in order to prepare for the subsequent battles.

The grief-stricken dwarves also wanted to follow the warriors to fight to the death, but Lynch declined their request on the grounds that they were not good at deep diving.

After hesitating for a long time, Roman took the initiative to follow the raiders.

Lynch followed Nakai and went around to the deeper waters from one side. The cold-blooded creature swam underwater like a fish along the tributary and into the wide Tito River.

The vampire pirate fleet stayed in the river near the sea and continuously fired cannonballs into the swamp.

There were some ghosts underwater, and before the ghosts screamed and rushed over, Lynch purified them with Kotego's light.

The amphibians that were transformed into undead creatures also dissipated in the radiation.

The fleet began to stir in panic, and the ships tilted slightly and tried to turn around and leave.

Nakai led the monitor lizards and rammed directly into the ship, while the skin lizards used stone hammers and stone nails to dig at the bottom of the ship.

Romon violently overturned a gunboat and dived deep into the river before the undead noticed him.

Lynch held the scepter and performed the melting and cutting work underwater. Soon there was no pirate ship on the river.

The underwater undead were easily killed by the cold-blooded creatures, and victory was so easy.

Bright flames exploded in the water, and the sound of cannon fire on the sea brought heavy losses to the cold-blooded people.

Except for Romon who was hiding in the water plants at the bottom of the river, and the three lizards he pressed down.

All the Lizardmen were in the boiling waters and suffered a severe round of bombardment.

The giant lizards were all blown to pieces, and only Nakai, whose scales were strengthened by the mark of the ancient saints, seemed to be unharmed.

Large areas of scales on Lynch's body were damaged, and new scales quickly grew out, squeezing out the old scales.

He just lost a layer of skin, and it wasn't even considered a serious injury.

The Skinks were not so lucky, their emaciated bodies floating to the surface, mingling with the debris of the wrecked ship.

Almost all the skunks who bravely participated in the raid died if it weren't for Roman's quick reaction to protect the three lucky lizards.

It can basically be announced that the underwater regiment consisting of nearly a thousand skinks has been destroyed, and its organization has been completely broken up by the brutal ambush set by the vampires.

Apparently, the fleet on the river was bait, with less than ten hapless vampires among them sent to their deaths.

The vampire pirates had been lying in ambush on the seashore, waiting for the Lizardmen to attack the fleet in the river.

Of course, it would be even better if the bait fleet could defeat the Lizardmen.

The surviving warriors swam towards the sea, and they still had the strength to fight.

Romon grabbed the spirit lizard and hid under the water. The battle had developed to a level where he could no longer participate.

Intensive artillery fire fell again, but fortunately the cold-blooded people were prepared and stayed close to the riverbed to avoid repeating the same mistake.

Another round of scatter, but with some different shells mixed in.

A light green poisonous mist spread over the water surface. The wounds of some monitor lizards began to ooze pus quickly, and some began to die as soon as they swam into the sea.

Lynch smelled the smell of plague. Obviously, there was the shadow of ratmen behind it... unless the vampires succumbed to the demons of Nurgle.

Poison bombs exploded one after another in the sea, and before they got close to the vampire's naval fleet, only Lynch and Nakai were left.

Neither of the two warriors was afraid, and both of them were determined to fight to the death.

Just as the admirals of the vampire fleet were laughing and preparing to declare victory, a shadow as huge as an island slowly approached the sea surface under hundreds of ships.

Except for Nakai and Linqi underwater, and Romon and three lizards hiding at the river mouth and peeping, no other beings noticed the terrifying shadow in the deep sea.

The two soldiers stopped charging and looked at the giant monster slowly rising from afar.

It has a lizard-like head and a crocodile-like mouth.

The slender, flat tail only needs a slight flick to cause a huge wave on the sea surface.

The broad, long fins are like bat wings, connected to webbed claws.

Its mountainous body was like a black fish without fins, and its yellow eyes were filled with cruel rationality.

The sun was still shining brightly, but suddenly there were storms on the sea.

The raging waves several meters high directly smashed the fragile hull.

The vampires chanted spells to protect the ships from magic, but this only delayed them from facing the judgment of the god of death, Maul.

The giant beast under the water opened its mouth wide, and its ferocious fangs were each bigger than those of the giant.

It was not until this behemoth rushed out of the water and swallowed the dozen remaining ships in one gulp that the undead noticed this unparalleled monster.

But it's too late now. What would have happened even if I had known it earlier?

Even Druzai's Black Ark would sink into the sea unwillingly when faced with such a monster.

After swallowing the fleet, the behemoth began to dive, and the rationality in its eyes was gradually replaced by wildness.

The spirit lizards at the river mouth praised Zongqi with awe. They thought that the monster was Zongqi's messenger.

This might not be entirely wrong, Lynch guessed, a certain Slann controlled the monster like he enslaved the lizard.

Lynch and Nakai turned around and rushed to the fortress on the beach, only to find that nothing was left of the fortress.

After meeting up with Romon, the cold-blooded people returned to the swamp and led the army further south.

The dwarves found the remains of their compatriots in the upended swamp and hastily cremated and buried them.

When night falls, it is another night of evil moon.

The hoarse voice echoed in Lynch's ears.

"You've been used, turn back now, you don't belong here!"

The dull roar like the sound of a knife or an axe hitting someone rang in Lynch's ears.

"You are a glorious warrior! You deserve to be on a greater battlefield!"

The layers of lingering sound merge together, like the beating of war drums.

"Come! Join us! The Blood God is roaring! He is calling for war!"

The ending sounded like a charge of cavalry, or like a faint war cry on a battlefield far away.

"Kill and destroy as much as you want! Sacrifice blood to the Blood God! Sacrifice skulls to the Skull Throne!"
